Youth Faction are a group dark elves in an unnamed dark elf village.

Background[]

The faction is composed of young dark elves that hold belief in ability supremacism. Their principle belief stems from living in the Great Forest of Evasha, a harsh and dangerous environment where they believed that the only way to survive was to yield to those who possessed superior abilities. Due to this, they were dark elves that opposed the elders' respect for convention and tradition.

Since the current long-lived elders did not possess any outstanding ability, the Youth Faction called for them to relinquish their leadership roles, as they question why they should follow the elders of inferiority when they can be succeeded by several members of the younger generation who were by far superior to them.

So far the tension between the Council of Elders and Youth Faction had not developed into total conflict, due to the youth respecting four people of the village: Master of the Hunt Apple, Blueberry Egnia, the Chief Pharmacist and Rite Master-who did not wish to oppose the elders. Thus the division between those who supported the elders and the Youth Faction was kept at a passive aggressive stance.

However the status quo would be interrupted by the arrival of visitors from beyond the forest.

The Half Elf God-kin Arc[]

Main article: The Half Elf God-kin I and The Half Elf God-kin II Arc

During the preparations to countering a possible attack by a ankyloursus, one of the zealots of the faction, Plum Ganen rather than allowing the elders make the decision to warn the neighboring villages, suggested to the rangers in presenting all their opinions to the council, as a way to win an argument over them. He was scolded by Apple as what he proposed was to subtly undermine the authority of the elders. Before an argument could be ensued, Blueberry Egnia, reminded everyone of the current threat to the village, bringing everyone back under calmer heads.

Later after Aura Bella Fiora arrived and defeated the Ankyloursus Lord, her unmatched ability as a ranger and hunter, embolden the many members of the Youth Faction. Her existence served as validation to their principles. Since her arrival, nearly all the members of the faction, like Plum Ganen had become her followers. Ganen especially became more outspoken in his criticism towards the elders.[1]

Upon the arrival of Aura's uncle and brother, some members like Ganen expected Aura's uncle, Ain Bell Fior, to be a powerful ranger, though learned that he was actually a wizard, a term they were ignorant of. Ain did leave an impression on the youngsters of the faction, especially on how he treated Aura, not as a superior but a child, despite her overwhelming strength. The fact he did so was inconceivable to them, but what really affected them was his verbose greeting to the elders which they thought were the proper etiquette of elves. As Aura did not display such attitude due to being just a child, the members of the faction were embarrassed to think that Ain thought them as children hence why he only recognized the elders. Having never needed to learn etiquette, the members of the faction not wanting to shame their village, decided to leave the handling of Ain's gifts to the elders as to avoid presenting bad manners to their guests. A few even considered reluctantly learning basic etiquette from the elders in order to maintain the village's image.

Due to this misunderstanding, Ain was avoided by the faction so as they did not know the proper protocols for interacting with dark elves from the city.[2]

Strength[]

In the village it is unknown how many members belong to the faction, though it was hinted that the movement existed in other villages. Among faction were those elves who could be considered zealots to the cause.

Known Members[]

Trivia[]

  • When Blueberry was asked by Apple if he could perhaps assume leadership to pacify the younger members, Blueberry believed it would set a bad precedent, and spread to other villages if they caught wind of what he did. Others would follow suit to change their leadership, which could lead to an upheaval of dark elf society,
