Valerian Ein Obinie (ヴァレリアン・エイン・オービニエ) is a general of the Slane Theocracy military forces.
Appearance[]
Valerian was over 50 years old.
Personality[]
Valerian appears to be a compassionate commander as he cares about the lives of his men. When reviewing the losses of life, he can't help but feel stupefied by the number of deaths. He was also considerate as he listened to the advice of his strategists as he valued their consul to help him point out things he missed in his strategy. Valerian obeyed the orders of his superiors though he did not agree on their willingness to use his men and cannon fodder and cheap tools. However he was aware of their reasons and the cruel realities, that were necessary to survive in the world.
Background[]
General Valerian Ein Obinie, alongside General Gael Russells Bulgari, was one of the right hands of the Grand Marshal.

The Half Elf God-kin Arc[]
- Main article: The Half Elf God-kin Arc
At his command tent, he addressed his six military strategists on the casualties numbers from the latest stealth nigh raid by elves the Elf Country. He was shocked that his army forces suffered a lot of losses and that their attackers losses were even fewer. His strategists' commented to him that it was natural as now the stronger elves from the capital were now appearing, luckily the elves forces were smaller than theirs. Though the words were hollow as the army was suffering low morale due to the deaths of their comrades and Valerian worried that if things continued the men would not follow his orders.
His strategists believed that they could reduce the deaths if they made an incredibly strong perimeter using all of their ideas. But the problem was that they would need a lot of labor and time to put all of them into practice. When he was asked if the Supreme Executive Council would order them to continue the fight, he sadly confirmed what they already knew, that they were to maintain a frontline against the elven capital that their forces barely could support. Their orders included to cease exchanging blows with the night raids and to maintain position which was taking a toll on Valerian's men. Not only that Valerian understood that his army was to bait out the Elf King and enemy elites without the aid of the Holocaust Scripture of any of the other Six Scriptures.
He and his command staff know the real reason for the denial of aid from the Supreme Executive Council, which was to use the war as an opportunity strengthen the remaining soldiers to acquire classes such as ranger. An aide of Valerian asked perhaps they could make another request to the Supreme Executive Council, thinking their mindset had changed to allow for assistance, the request was turned down as well as a request to use large scale attacks such as burning down the forest to drive out the elves. For the latter he could not permit that because the Theocracy endgame plan was to use the elven capital as an evacuation point for the inevitable war with the Sorcerer Kingdom. After getting his men to understand the sacrifices they were making and to persevere, he received word that reinforcements from the homeland had arrived and that they were ordered to launch a full assault on the elven capital meaning that their war with the elves would finally conclude.
Once the assault commenced, he received reports from his command post that 70% of the enemy's counterattacks had been reduced and that the elves were pursuing the the use of ambushes against his forces. The defense of the elves having been broke, Valerian ordered his men to keep up the attacks. As for the Elven Royal Castle he was disappointed to learn that no movement had been made by the Elf King or its inhabitants. But since their preliminary goal of capturing the city was nearly complete, he ordered the soldiers to surround the castle until further notice. Valerian then went to see the reinforcements that the Supreme Executive Council sent. At a tent he met with Antilene Heran Fouche, in which he respectful took the time to listen to her musings to herself about her mother and father though did not know what to make of it as she prepared to head out to kill the Elf King.[1]

Antilene Heran Fouche[]
Due to her great power, Valerian made sure to address Antilene with the highest respect, despite the latter stating that he does not have to. He was also greatly disturbed by her habit of talking to herself, particularly regarding her toxic family, preferring to just keep quiet until she finished. In the end, he was so terrified of her that he ran out of the tent they were in to get away from her, even though he knew that she could easily catch him if she wanted.
Trivia[]
- His military strategists were all younger than him, only in their 20s.
Quotes[]
- (On his army's losses): "—that’s too many."
- (To his strategists): “I can understand your feelings to a painful extent,” because everyone here, including him, also thought the same way. “Even so, we cannot change it. It’s not about the present, but the future.”
