Tsuzura (葛籠 (つづら) ) is an item from the New World in Mass for the Dead.

Description[]

A relic from Kyuko's past, from when she was once enshrined as a deity in a distant village in a distant land. It contained two sets of Fertility Prayer Costumes used for fertility rituals that were given to the fox by the villagers she befriended.

After the villagers had left or died out, Kyuko took the tsuzura with her on her journey to seek others of her kind. The tsuzura essentially became a casket where she keeps her precious belongings. Though it would remain unopened for many years, until a New Year's celebration in Nazarick.[1]

Appearance[]

A box painted with persimmon tannins and lacquer.

Abilities[]

The tsuzura is painted with persimmon tannins and lacquer using a brush made from a concubine's hair. This has the effect of preventing insects and mold, allowing the contents of the tsuzura to be well preserved.

Trivia[]

  • A tsuzura is Japanese lacquered bamboo box. It's a woven basket made of woven bamboo, and a delicate craft that involves 25 detailed work processes to finish.
