Spoiler Alert Spoiler Alert: WARNING! This page happens to contain a lot of heavy spoilers that are all originated from the Overlord Light Novel series written by the author Kugane Maruyama. To every Anime-only watchers and Manga-only reader out there viewing this warning, please mindfully consider your decision first before choosing to expose yourself on reading the information below. If you're not currently up-to-date with the main source material in the official books, do consider staying away from the page for non-spoiler sake until you actually read it first ahead of time.

Throne of Kings is a World Item under the possession of the guild, Ainz Ooal Gown.

Description

By clearing and conquering the Great Tomb of Nazarick, a recommended level 80+ dungeon in one attempt, the guild of Ainz Ooal Gown was rewarded with this World Item, the Throne of Kings as a trophy.[1]

To this very day, it remains integral to not only the guild alone but also a part of the dungeon too. In the New World, the Throne of Kings is usually seated upon by Ainz in front of the Floor Guardians present before him during a meeting.

Appearance

The Throne of Kings is made from a single mass of obsidian. The throne's size is considered gigantic whose back was high enough to touch the ceiling above where it is situated in.

Abilities

When the user sits on the Throne of Kings, a buff can be seen on their status screen. What appear on the user's status screen are the statistics of its allies inside the Great Tomb of Nazarick, whether they're alive or under the influence of an unknown power/effect. Ainz had once seated himself on the Throne of Kings to watch and oversee a series of events concerning invaders. This would include the recent intruders being the workers who invaded Nazarick at different parts throughout Nazarick like the tomb's areas and floors. On the other hand, it had also defended the tomb against any kind of divination magic from the enemy that was used on them, activating countermeasures in its defense system as a response to the enemy. The defense system possesses several layers of protection. This help makes Nazarick an impregnable fortress in that regard when it comes to protecting the tomb from external attacks outside.

Trivia

  • This World Item is kept in the Throne Room on the 10th Floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
  • This item takes its origins from Shakespeare's Richard II in the verse "This royal throne of kings".
