I saw the last episode and it seems to hint toward the end of a furture season with Albedo's mentioning of the Lizardmen (foreshadowing the events of volume 4), the fortified Carne Village and Lupusregina Beta's presence there (foreshadowing to some of the events in Volumes 7, 8, 9). And finally the Brain/Gazef and Sebas/Solution scenes (which foreshadows the events of Volumes 5 & 6).
So what do you think? Will there be another season or is Studio Madhouse just teasing us?
They've made 26-29 episode anime series before, like Gungrave and Claymore, (which had 26 episodes) and Black Lagoon (29 episodes if you include Roberta's Blood Trail, 24 if you don't, but seeing as it actually follows the events of the manga I'm inclined to think it counts).
Death Note had 37 episodes, Cardcaptor Sakura had over 70 episodes (not including OVAs), and Hunter X Hunter (2011) has over 148 episodes.
I'm not saying they will or won't make more seasons based on this data, but what do you think the chances are they will?

Actually it sold ">8,427" as reported by Soundscan (In just 3 days). So they reached their goal in sales leaving the possibility of a season 2 open. We may not see Madhouse doing the next one since they aren't known for doing more than 1 season but the chances are high that it will have another.
If by some chance they do decide to make another season it won't be till atleast the Spring season as They are already booked on this Fall and the coming Winter season.
People saying the chances of a season 2 are low are wrong. Madhouse showed clips of volumes 4-6 in the intro, no season 2 would= false advertising. The anime is selling well (BDs and DVDs), BUT what is more important, far more important are the novel sales NOT the anime sales, people seem to either not know or forget this. The Novel is selling incredibly well because of the boost the Anime gave it. Chances of a season2 are quite high imo.
While producing the last episode, they should know if they wanna make a second season.
If there will be no second season, why wasting that much time to show stuff that will never be produced? If its only to boost the LN they should have shown more major things like parts of the second fight of the lizardmen or parts of the Jaldabaoth story and so on. More exciting things...
Many animes show 2 or 3 seasons ahead in the theme openings does not mean they last two to 3 seasons take D Grey man for instance lots of ideas off the manga (-thoughts here-but due to the loss of sells through torrenting, borrowing from friends whoo have it or any other means that make it a loss of money-end of thought-) for the 2 seasons out of 5 they could have made from it they didn't. So your theory is blown mate althrough if they do make it I will be impressed.
Personally I do want to see a second season this anime has potential
I hope so worst case we'all have to see the sales outside the us, because madhouse have made anime that were specifically targeted at western audiences even if they didn't do well in japan. Take trigun as an example
