Theocracy - Elf War is an ongoing war between the Slane Theocracy and the Elf Country incited by Elf King Decem's crimes. The Sorcerer Kingdom also got involved during the war's final phase, inadvertently aiding the Theocracy; although there was no official alliance.
Background[]
Originally, the Theocracy and the elves had a positive cooperative relationship. But that relationship between the two nations was broken, by the Elf King himself when he had tricked the woman who was known as the trump card of the Black Scripture, the Theocracy's strongest hero level combat unit and captured her.
Upon successfully capturing her, the Elf King proceeded to chain her up and rape her in order to follow through in his ambition to create powerful progeny with an equally powerful individual. Eventually successfully impregnating her with his child. However, before she could give birth, the woman had been successfully rescued and retrieved by the Black Scripture and returned to the Theocracy.
Eventually, the woman successfully gave birth to her child within her homeland. However, due to the Theocracy's desire to monopolize God-Kin's for their military and likely due to realizing the immense potential the child had as a hybrid between two incredibly powerful beings, the child was taken away from her mother's side during her early childhood in order to train and develop her powers and combat potential by a past generation of Cardinals, who then proceeded to take over the role as parental figures to the impressionable child. Eventually, due to her powerful lineage, the child grew to become the Theocracy's strongest God-kin and successfully replaced her mother as the new ace of the Human Nation. And through her urging and desire to avenge her mother due to being raised to develop a vengeful and vicious personality by the previous generation of Cardinals, the child successfully convinced the Theocracy's higher-ups to wage a war of retaliation against the Elf Country for the Elf King's transgression against her mother and restore her mother's honor.[1]
The Theocracy had built a forward base at Crescent Lake, the seat of the elves capital. According to the plan, the capital should have been destroyed in a few years, but that plan was slowly going off-script. And combined with the loss of many members of the Black Scripture, the theft of the Crown of Wisdom, and the emergence of the Sorcerer Kingdom, it was estimated it would take the Theocracy ten years to recover their full strength.
Some members of the Six Cardinals wanted to call a ceasefire, but it was believed by majority that too much blood had been spilled to resolve this peacefully. The cardinals were trapped in this situation because their predecessors who raise that child of their former trump card brought her up to avenge her mother.
There was a distinct difference in power between the Theocracy and that of the elven nation. Be it in the amount of magic items, the skill of their troops, the resources they could allocate, their tactics----everything. The only reason why the elves could still hold the line in the face of the overwhelming power of the Theocracy was due to their guerilla tactics--the only field they surpassed the Theocracy---and the fact the Theocracy feared losing troops to the monsters of the Great Forest of Evasha. Thus the elves had slowed the Theocracy's advance. However, the elves advantage over the opposing nation was beginning to wane. With the Theocracy in progress of building a field camp nearby the capital it was estimated that they will be able to attack the royal capital in the coming years. The Theocracy had recently committed the Holocaust Scripture, which was usually committed to the defense of their home nation, into the fray. Being experts in assassination, guerrilla warfare, and counterterrorism, the Theocracy's advance had sped up immensely.
The looming threat of the invasion by the Slane Theocracy was ignored by the Elf King, who refused to commit any of his immense power to defeat the invaders and was more devoted in debauchery and hedonism.[2]
Overtime the armies of the Theocracy have constructed a brick road that leads from the frontlines all the way back to their own territory. This was made to help with moving troops with much greater ease than it would be just travelling trough the dense vegetation of the Great Sea of Trees. It is continuously being built and the direction of the road seems to be aimed for the elven capital. Later it would be revealed by Valerian Ein Obinie that the Theocracy had also done this due to the fact that they planned to colonize the Elf Country’s Capital and make use of the elves’s unique tree manipulation Magic in order to transform the former capital into a evacuation location for their citizens when they eventually declare war on the Sorcerer Kingdom.
Battles[]
Assassination of Rugi[]
The Theocracy's main force of 40,000 soldiers were marching through the forest though had been stalled by a single elven archer. Rather than make a detour which would cost them more losses and lose morale, the army sacrificed a 1,000 soldiers to distract the elven archer and deployed the a team of four belonging to the Holocaust Scripture to assassinate the girl. After the Scripture members crept to the location where she was launching her barrage of arrows, killing all 1,000 soldiers the vice captain, Schoen, gave the signal to snipe her with over a hundred [Magic Arrows], killing her. The vice captain was about to collect her equipment, until the Elf King appeared to stop him. Decem then proceeded to summon Behemot to kill the members of the Scripture. To save his men, Schoen sacrificed himself to buy them time to escape.[3]
Assault on the Elven Capital[]
Seven days since Ainz and his Floor Guardians stayed at a dark elf village, the army of the Theocracy had abandoned chopping a path to the capital midway and marched towards the outskirts of the capital. In the clearing they laid siege against the city. Though the siege was mostly involving maintaining position until further orders. The army was forbidden from using siege weapons or fire arrows to burn the forest. Furthermore none of the Six Scriptures were permitted to aid the human soldiers. Due to the restrictions, the humans faced heavy casualties by the night raids of the elves. Their morale was slowly being whittled away, and despite pleas from the commander to the Supreme Executive Council for permission to engage the enemy using overwhelming force, it was denied repeatedly. Salvation came when a report arrived before General Valerian that the council had lifted the constraints and sent reinforcements. No longer being bound by the Theocracy's rules of war, the armies then committed themselves in capturing the city, breaking through its defenses, and began pushing the guerilla forces of the elves back deeper into the cities, whilst other pockets of resistance were being surrounded by the siege. The last target of the humans was the elven royal castle, though to their surprise they received no retaliation from the Elf King. To avoid casualties Valerian ordered the fortress be surrounded and allowed the trump card of the Black Scripture, Antilene Heran Fouche, to complete their mission.
Duel of Kings[]
Unknown to the human invaders, a duel was being fought between Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown and Elf King Decem Hougan. Ainz and his Floor Guardians, Aura and Mare infiltrated the castle in order to perform a kill steal to acquire the treasures in the treasury. They encountered Decem Hougan in their search who upon seeing the dark elf twins, believed that they were his grandchildren. After the Elf King had made his intention clear that he planned to mate with Aura and have Mare bed with other female elves to produce strong children, it angered Ainz, who proceed to punch the Elf King. Ainz posing as a summon of the twins, fought Decem's Behemot in over the twins, in battle of attrition, tricked the elf into expending his mana and phishing for information. When the Elf King said all he would divulge, Ainz easily destroyed the Primal Earth Elemental and dealt Decem with a grievous wound using [Reality Slash] thus destroying his confidence and self-image. Before a superior force, Decem was given the chance to strip off his equipment and surrender and hope for mercy, but revealing his true cowardly nature chose to flee. Despite Ainz and Aura's attempts to stop the Elf King, they failed. Mare was then given the task or capturing the injured king and bringing him back to Ainz while he and Aura located the treasures of the castle.
Assassination of Elf King Decem[]
Decem having fled from the battle planned to make his getaway, by first conserving what strength he had. He planned to flee the doomed nation and rebuild a new kingdom elsewhere using his own strength to take what he wanted. Thinking that he would have better success in producing stronger children with dark elves, Decem planned to breed with them once he escaped. Before leaving, he went to his room in order retrieve some supplies, where he found all of his concubines dead at the feet of Antilene Heran Fouche. Seeing her elven features, Decem thought she was the mother of Aura and Mare. He tried to flee but was stabbed in the leg by Antilene and fell on the floor. Not knowing who Antilene was, Decem was left wondering why he was being treated this way as she crushed his chest. Unexpectedly, Decem revived himself due to a spell he cast during the duel with Ainz, forcing Antilene to kill her father once again.
Duel at the Elven Royal Castle[]
The assassination of Decem was stumbled upon by Mare. Antilene seeing that Mare in his dress armor and eyes assumed him a girl and was kin to her father. Antilene immediately attacked the dark elf, kicking her father's corpse at the child, followed by an offensive attack. Though to her surprise her attacks were parried despite wearing the gear of the Six Great Gods. The battle continued out into the corridor where Mare displayed he was more than enough to face her with his druidic arts. After being pummel by his staffs and hindered by his magic scrolls, Antilene activated several of her unique skills to the bafflement of Mare. However, despite her effort, in the end Mare came out victorious, knocking the half-elf out with his staff.[4]
Aftermath[]
The results of the war with the elves is not clear, though it is predicted that the Theocracy will shortly occupy the city once all elven resistance has been eliminated. Though it is deemed to be a win for the Theocracy, it should only be a tactical win as while the humans have annexed the capital, there is still the danger of the dark elven reinforcements that have yet to arrive to aid the forest elves. And while the Theocracy had killed the Elf King and it was one of their main objectives, it was only due so to the actions of the Sorcerer King. Not only that the Sorcerer Kingdom had deprived the Theocracy from a true victory, as they had not only stolen the most important kill in the entire conflict, but they had also stolen all elven treasures kept by the former Elf King had inherited from his father and his companions, and the capture of the Theocracy's number one trump card of the Black Scripture. After interrogating the Extra Seat and the knowledge of the Theocracy's complicity in a previous incident is revealed, the Sorcerer King's anger was soon directed towards the Slane Theocracy and ordered his nation to begin preparations to declare war against them using his nation's full power.[5]
