That One (アレ) is the name that members of Corpus of the Abyss use to address when referring to the entity who has taken over leadership of secret undead organization.
Appearance[]
It was said that the entity had a large form.
Personality[]
Though That One claimed leadership over an organization composed of night liches under its rule, its subordinates saw it as the worst kind of leader. It didn’t have the leniency or open-mindedness a ruler should possess. And was too wary about everything.
According to the members of the inner circle of Corpus of the Abyss, despite being a powerful being, acting high and mighty, it was fundamentally coward that choose to hide as evidenced to its lair which was deep in the earth.
That One was stated to not like anyone as it only finds everyone unpleasant. However it is known to treat those who can be useful to it as favorites. That One didn’t try to hide its personality at all, even calling the magic the undead in Corpus of the Abyss used as “filthy.” Ironically it can be considered a hypocrite as it sees no problem in using the magical research of the liches to strengthen itself.
Background[]
Very little information is given on the origins of That One, but it made it home underground by physically digging a huge cave.
At one point it learned of Corpus of the Abyss, probably from some outer circle member, and suddenly appeared before the inner circle of the organization, demonstrating its power. Due to its power, the inner circle accepted That One into the organization and allowed it to be their leader, thinking it’s inclusion would serve as a deterrent to other powerful beings that could threaten them.
However the reign of That One proved to be anything but beneficial to the members of the Corpus of the Abyss. The new leader of Corpus of the Abyss only ever took from its membership and barely gave them any benefits in return.
That One regularly summoned the members of the inner circle very few years to meet it at its lair to speak with them individually. Due to those visits, the members of the inner circle requested a waiting room to be installed for their benefit which it permitted due to their petitions.
Eventually the grievances of the inner circle fomented into disgust towards That One who they regarded nothing more than a parasite feeding on them. The entire inner circle then began working together to form a rebellion in hopes of destroying That One.

The Half Elf God-Kin Arc[]

That One is mentioned by Banezeri Anchas to have summoned him and the other members of the inner circle for the periodic meetings. After Banezeri was done with his meeting, he saw that Granz Locker was the last one. They exchanged some words, with Granz promising to meet up later. Banezeri left left the cave to head to a secret meeting hosted at Krunui Log Entesh Na’s castle where the other members of the inner circle had gathered to make plans for their rebellion against That One.[1]
Abilities and Powers[]
That One is estimated to be a powerful being, as it’s power was enough to make a group of night liches, who are regarded as strong existences in the New World, kneel into subservience.
It was noted to being a physically powerful creature that could dig through unhewn stone.
Though for all its power, it lacked the ability to dominate the undead. According to Banezeri, That One could have easily controlled the members of the inner circle’s minds, if it had taken time to specialize in that field.

That One was disrespectful for the powerful night lich and his magic.
Granz Locker[]
Granz was considered a favorite of That One. Though it was only due to it valuing her as useful. Likewise Granz did not feel pleased at being valued by the entity.
Trivia[]
- Based in the descriptions of That One’s personality, some fans have concluded that the entity could be one of the Dragon Lords.
