Swimsuit (水着) was a type of item from YGGDRASIL that appeared in Mass for the Dead.

Description

An event item that was only available during the summer in YGGDRASIL. Though the idea of swimsuits have also been introduced into the New World by way of the Minotaur Sage.

Appearance

Swimsuits are skin-tight or loose-fitting clothes that range from designs that almost completely cover the body to designs that expose almost all of the body.

Abilities

According to Pandora's Actor, a swimsuit has a special effect called [Water Processing] and has complete resistance to water. Due to the lightweight material, it allows a wearer to easily move on land and the wearer is comfortable even in humid environments. In the game, the item increases attack and skill attack power of the water element and reduces magic damage received.

• In the game, this item was retrieved from the Treasury for the Pleiades to investigate a newly discovered island.
• In the game, it is ranked as a five star Relic Item.
• Later in a game promotion, it is revealed by Blue Roses when picking high-quality armor to the Kingdom from a remote seaside village that a mountain dwarf crafted such attire as a hobby to craft the perfect swimsuit.
• In Mass for the Dead, Peroroncino gifted Shalltear her own swimsuit that resembled a babydoll outfit and a crimson color that compliment's his creation's paleness. He also included data for the chest padding as part of the outfit. The reason as to why he did so is uncertain but its likely that the Supreme Being did not want to the jinx the myth that "vampires are weak in running water", and so it was to act as a ballast for posture stability in water.
• After some test conducted by Nazarick, swimsuits from the New World are notably inferior to those found in the Treasury.
• Tsuibayaya provided a prototype to Kyuko after she tried using her illusion magic to unsuccessfully cloth herself in one.
• Mare and Aura have swimsuits, based on the "sailor dress", which has a history of being favored by the royal family in ancient times, and also loved as deck clothes by sailors and uniforms for students.
• Momonga's swimsuit briefs were lent to Tsuibayaya to secure his cooperation to develop new daily household magic items for the Sorcerer Kingdom.
• Tsuibayaya made another prototype, which was lent to Saint Clementine for an operation to subjugate a Super Giant Sanitary Slime in the sewers of E-Rantel.
• Nishikienrai provided Narberal Gamma with a ninja-themed swimsuit. And Albedo acquired one with a ninja theme for a specific mission.
• For the second Halloween Festival at E-Rantel, Tina, Tia and Clementine wore their swimsuits.
• On the cover of Overlord: The Undead Oh! Chapter 68, Blue Roses are all wearing swimsuits.
• In Mass for the Dead, some swimsuits were introduced to the Slane Theocracy after a certain "incident" in E-Rantel, after agents of the Theocracy noticed the item's usefulness and brought them back for the use of the Black Scripture for "research purposes". The 11th Seat of the Black Scripture and Extra Seat were along the members who tried out the equipment.
• Some swimsuits were incorporated with Chaos Stones converting them into Chaos Adaptive Equipment in response to discovering waterside environments.
• Sophie was given a swimsuit made by Tsuibayaya to assist her in a Sorcerer Kingdom investigation at the Great Lake. After the mission the researcher found she liked the item finding it suitable for when interacting with slimes and so was permitted to keep it as a reward for her services.
• Peroroncino had a hidden cache of swimsuits he bought for Shalltear which he hidden in the Adipocere Chamber among which was the Beach's Most Beautiful Girl Swimsuit.
• After Enhela Read Gahi took control of Nazarick, he created a fake copies of the Pleiades wearing swimsuits to fight against Cocytus and his team in a recreation of Nazarick Academy.
• Renner Theiere Chardelon Ryle Vaiself was given a swimsuit to wear for an inspection of the archipelago to locate a site for a resting facility for the lizardmen.
• In the game, swimsuits were decided to be trade items with the other world from which the Mercenary Knights came from. The idea was prompted due to Pandora's Actor suggestion after seeing Momonga claim a bikini armor out of sentimentality. Tsuibayaya was assigned to make the Nazarick swimsuit line brand using water repellent fabric from YGGDRASIL.
