Spartiates (スパルティアト) are a type of undead from YGGDRASIL.

Appearance

Spartiates resemble armored skeletons armed with spears.

Abilities

Spartiates were similar in ability to the 5th tier summon, Heavy Skeleton Warrior, but with superior gear.

However, they were also weaker in a sense because buffs from special skills wouldn’t affect them.

Trivia

• The term Spartiate is from Greece, referring to a full citizen of the city-state of Sparta, who who was of age and was serving in the Spartan military.
  • Considering their motif and name, the Spartiates were likely inspired by the Spartoi, warriors (in some stories skeleton warriors) from Greek myth that grew from dragon teeth that were planted in the earth (and, in some stories, watered with blood).
• Antilene Heran Fouche using Charon's Guidance is able to summon these undead.
