Sorcerer King Momonga Statue (魔導王モモンガ陛下像) was an effigy created by Demiurge in Mass for the Dead

Description[]

The statue was forged by Demiurge after an vein of adamantite was discovered in the Abelion Hills. The statue was created as the main focal piece for the Sorcerer Kingdom’s National Foundation Day Ceremony. The Floor Guardians competed with each other for having the privilege of being installed on their floors. [1] While Demiurge was the sculptor, credit for the statue was also given to Mare Bello Fiore who helped acquire the ore and also Albedo who provided Demiurge with some critique and artistic inspiration. At its unveiling the statue was hailed as a masterpiece of craftsmanship by the NPCs and visitors alike. Ultimately though Momonga decided to install the statue on the 7th Floor, effectively returning it to its maker.[2]

Appearance[]

A dark-blue metal statue made in the image and scale of Momonga.

Abilities[]

The statue has no abilities in itself, and possessed more aesthetic value, since it was the first of an expected line of statues that Demiurge planned to create to spread Momonga's greatness to the world.

Trivia[]

  • While there were other grades of metal that were of higher quality than adamantite, Demiurge decided to use it since that metal was recognized as the highest quality to the New World.
  • Momonga being the original model for the statue feels quite embarrassed at the item finding it makes him appear a bit gaudy.
  • While Momonga had the right to reject the creation of the statue, he permitted its existence after Demiurge gave a passionate speech to justify its existence to act as a symbol of unity and also as a placeholder for Momonga should he ever leave Nazarick, echoing Momonga creation of the Treasury's Mausoleum and the Avatara.
  • During the crafting process, Demiurge made 187 prototypes before developing the final product. These prototypes were then distributed among the NPCs as souvenirs.
  • The lizardmen who attended the Sorcerer Kingdom National Foundation Day celebration were impressed by the effigy and as part of their reward requested an idol to pray to. Momong who was resistant to the idea of spreading his image and becoming an icon, managed to reject the request in offering a adamantite made statue, though was later pressed to give the lizardmen an ice statue of himself made by Cocytus.[3]
