Seraph Empyrean (至高天の熾天使) is one of the highest, if not the highest ranked angel-type monster.

It is mentioned by Ainz Ooal Gown one can be summoned with a Super-Tier Spell.
During the Sunlight Scripture Confrontation outside of Carne Village, when Nigun Grid Luin used the Sealing Crystal summon an angel after seeing Ainz Ooal Gown was stronger than he realized, Ainz thought it had contained a Seraph Empyrean, making him and Albedo put their guards up, however it ended up being a mid-level Angel, Dominion Authority instead, which ended up disappointing him as he put his guard up for nothing.[1]
Abilities[]
A Seraph Empyrean surpasses its cousin species: Dominion Authority, Principality Observation, and Archangel Flame in terms of magic abilities. Its potential is at least greater than 7th tier magic.
It was enough to put Ainz Ooal Gown on his guard as he stated that he would have to fight it at full strength in order to defeat it, meaning they can pose an threat to even a level 100 Player from YGGDRASIL, it is also likely due to the fact Ainz is undead being vulnerable to Holy Attacks playing a factor.[1] Since Ainz had ask Albedo for help it is likely that he needed her help to take it down meaning he would have struggled against it.

- A Seraph is a member of the First Sphere in the celestial hierarchy in Christianity. Regarded as one of the highest tiers of angels who are closest to the throne of God.
- Since Dominion Authority was treated as the highest rank angels in New World as Nigun called it the "highest-rank angel" either the Slane Theocracy (Possibly the rest of the New World as well) are unaware of Seraph Empyreans' existence or they been kept a secret and Nigun didn't know about it.
