Schoen (シュエン) was the vice captain of the Holocaust Scripture before losing his life at the hands of the Elf King, Decem Hougan.

Appearance[]

No information was given on his appearance.

Personality[]

Schoen was a man who is very cautious, mostly due to his Scripture's specialty in killing hero level characters. His work required him to correctly grasp the strengths of opponents and avoid unnecessary risk that could befall his fellow Scripture members. He was very compassionate to his countrymen, as shown when a number of regular Theocracy soldiers were deployed to give him the opening to eliminate a target. Due to this it made him feel guilty of the sacrifices others made for his Scripture's successful missions.

When doing a job he showed no mercy, even to a child as shown for his treatment to the daughter of the Elf King. However though he had no qualms about killing children, the deputy thought negatively about looting from the dead, though was willing to do so himself if it was practical. To Schoen, while death was frightening, he feared of dying before he could pass on his intel, showing dedication to his profession. He was also very selfless as shown when he willingly sacrificed himself to allow his team to escape.

Background[]

In the past Schoen worked hard to match a rival, though in the end the latter surpassed him and was transferred to the Black Scripture,

Chronology[]

The Half Elf God-kin Arc[]

Main article: The Half Elf God-kin I and The Half Elf God-kin II Arc

A obstruction was blocking the Theocracy's 40,000 strong army in its path from proceeding to the elves' capital of Crescent Lake. Schoen and three members of his Scripture were deployed onto the battlefield to eliminate the obstruction. He found that the obstacle was a little elven girl wielding a giant bow who was shotting arrows that turned into dozens and rained down on the human invaders. Under the cover of his invisibility magic Schoen bided his time and killed the girl where she sat with his magic. Just as he was about to loot the corpse of the girl, he was interrupted when the Elf King arrived at the scene.

The assassin maintain his invisibility when the king arrived, however he and his team was easily detected by the elf. The elf did not care for the death of his child, but only cared to reclaim his bow. Seeing that Schoen's team were present he decided to kill them to relieve his boredom. The elf then summoned Behemot and sent it to kill the team. Since Schoen was closet to the elf, he put himself between his team and the summon, to buy them time to escape. Though he tried to block the summon's attack with a barrier he created, but was still beaten to a pulp and killed.[1]

After Schoen's death, the Holocaust Scripture was recalled from the frontlines of the war.[2]

Abilities and Powers[]

Schoen held the rank as vice captain of the Holocaust Scripture. He was a talented caster, but he was only a little better than the ordinary person at stealth without using magic. According to himself Schoen has yet to step into the realm of heroes and was an outlier. Despite that he wouldn’t die from a single attack even if the opponent was a hero, but would still not be able to escape smoothly if wounded. As a magic caster, Schoen wasn’t exactly skilled at moving his body, but as someone who was at the boundary of the realm of heroes, he could cross vast distances with little effort.

Schoen held nothing but spite towards the elf child as she had killed a thousand of his countrymen on the battlefield. His hatred went as far as wanting to spit on the girl's corpse as he was annoyed by her tranquil face,
