Santa Claus (サンタクロース) was a NPC from YGGDRASIL.

Appearance

Santa Claus can be best described as a chubby old man with a white beard dressed in thick red clothes. He has on a red conical nightcap with a pill-shaped decoration at the end that conceals his whitish hair. In addition to that, he carries a large white bag on his shoulder. Originally, when Santa came, he would smile. In CZ’s opinion, her view of Santa Claus depicts him as a big fluffy, Spear Needle.

Personality

Santa Claus was said to only give presents to good children. According to some literature Slimeko found, it was said that Santa Claus liked poultry on Christmas.

Background

From Ainz Ooal Gown's own account a Santa Claus did exist in YGGDRASIL, though he never seen the character himself, his true identity was hidden under a veil of mystery. It was later discovered that he was the work of the Developers of YGGDRASIL.

According to Slimeko and from the information gleaned from Ashurbanipal, Santa Claus appears on the night of a holiday called "Christmas" which is around the time of the winter solstice.

At this time of the holiday, it was said that there is a Christmas custom where if one puts a stocking out by their bedside at night, the next morning it will contain a present from Santa Claus.

Santa Claus was briefly recalled by Ainz Ooal Gown while he was departing from the Roble Holy Kingdom with CZ2128 Delta after the conclusion of the Siege of the Northern Holy Kingdom.

Abilities and Powers

Santa was described by Slimeko to be an old man that sneaks into people's homes from the chimney and also rides a sleigh, pulled by reindeer.

Trivia

• In 2019 during a Christmas Campaign for Mass for the Dead, a character of Sebas Tian was released with him dressed as Santa Claus in a Christmas Costume.
• During the Obamas Christmas Campaign, Slimeko introduced Santa Claus to explain the holiday.
• Santa Claus—otherwise known as Saint Nicholas or Kris Kringle— has a long history steeped in Christmas traditions. In modern times, he is thought of mainly as the jolly man in red who brings toys to good girls and boys on Christmas Eve and patron saint of children.
• In the non-canon Overlord Official Comic A La Carte, Santa Claus was mentioned by Ainz on his topic about Christmas. The Floor Guardians when hearing that the old man delivered gifts from the sky thought that they would have to prepare for an air raid.
• In an event in Mass for the Dead, a "Red Shadow" was rumored to be lurking on the rooftops of E-Rantel. Slimeko mistook the figure to be Santa Claus. Though in reality was actually Evileye sneaking to visit the many orphans of the city. Later the magic caster would dress up as Santa Claus to deliver recovery items disguised as candy to cure the sickness in the children.
