Royal Palace of Feo Berkana (フェオ・ベルカナの王城) is the royal castle that house the dwarven royal family of the Dwarf Kingdom.
Background[]
The Royal Palace was home to the royal family until two hundred years ago the Demon Gods attacked and laid waste to Feo Berkana, forcing the dwarves to flee to Feo Jera and establish it as their new capital.
The castle remained unoccupied, guarded by golems left behind by the dwarves. Unfortunately as some point, the castle was taken under possession by the White Dragon Lord Olasird'arc Haylilyal who destroyed the golem guards. Once the Royal Palace was under his control, he had ordered his concubine wives to lay their eggs there, and then raise his children as they grew over the course of time.
Olasird'arc had ambitions to use the city and the palace as a base to strengthen the draconic race and create a draconic empire to someday rule over the entire Azerlisia Mountains and finally defeat the his kind's rivals the Frost Giants.
Later in recent years, three years before the establishment of the Sorcerer Kingdom, Pe Riyuro united the Quagoa clans to form the United Quagoa Clans and brought his people to Feo Berkana. Though the city was claimed by the Frost Dragons, he managed to forge a cooperative alliance with the White Dragon Lord.

The Craftsman of Dwarf Arc[]

After news of the failed invasion of Feo Jera was brought to Pe Riyuro by Yozu, the Clan Lord considered asking aid from the Frost Dragons. Initially wanting to know how to defeat the dwarves golems, he later changed the priority to driving the dwarves away when he was alerted that intruders had entered the city. The Clan Lord intended for both sides to weaken in the conflict to strength his people's position.
Before Olasird'arc Haylilyal and his wives, Pe Riyuro offered the dragon a sack of gold for his aid. The White Dragon Lord agreed to assist though for ten times that was offered, which the Clan Lord reluctantly was forced to accept. At the insistence of Kilistran Denshusha, the White Dragon Lord sent out his son Hejinmal.
However the young dragon returned used as a mount by the Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown and his vassal Gondo Firebeard. Olasird'arc was angered by the sight of his son, seemingly turning into a turncoat, though his lust of treasure he detected on Ainz got the better of him and attacked the undead. He was killed easily by the Sorcerer King, who declared himself the Frost Dragons new master. He spared the lives of Olasird'arc's concubines as he promised for Hejinmal and sent them to gather the rest of the dragoon brood so they can address their new master.
When he and Gondo were alone in the throne room, Ainz sent out his Hanzos to collect all the books in the castle. Then turning to the treasury, Ainz used Epigoni to dispel the enchantments sealing it in order to allow Gondo to retrieve a runecraft manuscript.
Once all of Olasird'arc's three wives and sixteen children were before him, Ainz encountered a rebellious Torangealit who refused to bow before the undead. The dragon was killed by Ainz, cementing his place above the frost dragons. Afterwards he led the dragons out of the palace to the ruins district of the city where the remains of the Quagoa had assembled after Shalltear Bloodfallen had culled their numbers.
After the Sorcerer King returned to Feo Jera, a feast was held in celebration, with many of the dwarven citizens still in disbelief that the capital and palace was retaken despite it being a nest to frost dragons.[1]

Scale of the Palace
The Royal Palace stood at the heart of Feo Berkana and was the largest building in the city. Though the dwarves who built the palace were of short height, the interior of the palace was of staggering size. So much so that it was very spacious to allow the Frost Dragons to walk through its corridors, walkways and enter through individual rooms.
Features[]
Throne Room: A chamber where the White Dragon Lord and his wives held court. It contained a great pile of various treasures, most composed of gold coins, precious ores raw gemstones, as well as various valuable articles from apparels, tools and equipment.
Treasure Vault: The place where the treasure of the dwarves are stored. It is built so sturdily that even the Frost Dragons cannot do anything to open it. This was due to the runecraft enchantments in place. Inside the treasury contains a massive pile of gold. While vast in size, Ainz considers it still to be small to the Treasury in Nazarick. He also noted as to why the dwarves would bury pieces of armor and weapons within the gold pile. Due to the untidiness of the vault, it was believed that it was done so to make it harder for thieves to locate a specific treasure. Ainz believes that perhaps there was a secret compartment beneath the gold pile.
Hejinmal's Room: The chamber was located at a long distance from the throne room and at the highest level of the palace. Hejinmal never left the room so much so that his siblings had to bring his meals to him. Previously there was a door, but it was broken by Olasird'arc to force his son to respond to him and get out of the room. In the Anime, it appears to be filled with stacks of books.
Trivia[]
- Since the dragons lacked any ability to rebuild the architecture of the palace, and Olasird'arc feeling shameful for having a lair full of holes, he expressly forbid his wives and children from destroying any part of the palace.
- In Mass for the Dead,the refugee dwarves fled to the palace after they were driven from Feo Jera by the Giant Lizards where they attempted to beseech the frost dragons for protection.[2]
- There is a mine shaft near the palace that connects it to the famed bathhouse of the city. Said mine shaft is large enough and enhanced with magic from tunnel doctors to allow a Frost Dragon passage.[3]
