Pure Pure Pleiades × Kage-Jitsu! (ぷれぷれぷれあです × かげじつ！ Pure Pure Pleiades × Kagejitsu!) is a special episode of the Pure Pure Pleiades. It was released on October 31, 2023 as a Halloween special and a crossover between Overlord and The Eminence In Shadow. The ending theme for this is HHH-PLExKAGE MIX- by OxT.

Summary[]

In the Great Tomb of Nazarick, Ainz Ooal Gown sitting in his Throne Room before the assembled Pleiades muses the word: Halloween. Likewise in another city, in another world Shadow holds court with his Seven Shadows. Coincidentally the topic of the conversation is Halloween. Shadow explains to his followers, at the prompting of Alpha, about the activities of Halloween, where children carve pumpkins and dress up as ghosts to ask for candies using the phrase, "Trick or Treat." When asked if it is some sort of festival, Shadow explains the that event once held a religious significance, but overtime became just a seasonal event.

At the same time, in Nazarick, Ainz mentally recalls that during Halloween event in YGGDRASIL, there was the release of a new Halloween themed skin, and commented to himself that the humanoid ones were cuter. He is pulled from his nostalgia by Yuri Alpha, who had inquired about Halloween. Hastily Ainz claims that Halloween had nothing to do with them. Just as he finished that statement, the area around Ainz starts glitching. Th Overlord finds the sensation familiar but cannot place where. This also occurs around Shadow who notices the phenomenon. Sensing the unnaturalness of the situation, Ainz wonders if this is the work of a specific person, from another world. Both characters react differently, whereas Shadow is confident in fulfilling his dreams, Ainz begins panicking as the uncertainty of the phenomenon unfolds.

Ainz Ooal Gown soon awakens later and is greeted by the sight of Alpha and the rest of the Seven Shadows. He grows confused by them and when they address him as Shadow. Ainz as it appears is now in the body of Shadow. The women are confused when he demands who they are and believe it to be some sort of test. As the Seven Shadows contemplate on their master's words, Ainz assesses the situation as well. First he asks where he is and is told he is in Alexandria, which he accepts and then directly asks where Yuri Alpha is. Alpha thinking "Shadow" is referring to her, is perplexed but thinks that her master wishes to call her by a new name now. The rest of the Seven Shadows react in happiness, finding this to be a great honor and wish to celebrate. Their reverie is interrupted by Ainz who then carefully asks what their current names are. The women comply with his order and begin stating their names in a roll call.

Ironically this is also happening in the Throne Room of Nazarick with the Pleiades. Likewise it seems apparent that Shadow's mind has been placed in Ainz's body. After hearing the names of the maid, he is bemused that his Seven Shadows and the Pleiades have the same concept of names. However he notes that they are missing one member. To which Yuri answers that one is currently guarding the 8th Floor. In regards to his new appearance, Shadow is thrilled at acquiring a skeletal body. Despite losing the body he previously trained in, as he feels his new one fits his ideal image of the "Eminence in Shadow."

Shadow then inquires of Yuri Alpha is his second in command, but is corrected that honor belongs to Albedo. While hearing this Shadow affirms this all casually, which is not unnoticed by Yuri, who then asks her master why he is speaking in such a uncouth manner. Shadow realizing that he made a misstep decides to assume his "Eminence in Shadow" persona and in a more serious manner, tells Yuri that he was merely testing them. Shadow's answer satisfies the Pleaides, and he also notes how similar the Pleiades are to his Seven Shadows.

Back in the other world, Ainz also comes to the same conclusion that the Seven Shadows are just like the Pleiades. Unsure if they are NPCs, Ainz wishes not to make any trouble. Taking a glance at his refection, Ainz thinks his human appearance is the result of a new game skin, which he identifies as being a "chuunibyou." With that in mind, Ainz decides to play the role of one. Ainz effectively casts himself in a grandiose manner as "Shadow." His charade pays off and the Seven Shadows buy into it, believing him to be their master much to his relief.

Shadow does his own flashy introduction of his name as "Ainz Ooal Gown." But his phrase of referring himself as who "hunts the Darkness" causes the Pleiades to ask who is he talking about and many believe he is referring to humanity and that they must punish them. Regardless Shadow is happy that his act is working. Albedo soon enters the Throne Room, with a report from the 6th Floor of Nazarick, that Pandora's Actor found an unidentified door in the Amphitheater. Curranty Aura Bella Fiora and Mare Bello Fiore are investigating. Shadow interest in the development, decides to check out the door himself, much to Albedo's shock who believes "Ainz" should not be troubled by such a task and is concerned for his safety. Shadow manages to convince her otherwise by using his bold confidence.

Later in Alexandria, Ainz leads the Seven Shadows through their mansion headquarters. While Alpha believes that he did not have to come with them Ainz insists that he be present for the "opportunity to open a new world." The women take this as their master being interested in their newest project, though in truth Ainz just wanted to be near them as he had no idea how to navigate through the headquarters. Alpha then shows "Shadow" the double doors Nu reported that appeared inside the mansion. Ainz recognizes the door to be those of Nazarick and deduces that Nazaick must be connected on the other side.

When asked if they should open it, Ainz states that they first must check for traps. However it becomes mute when "Ainz" opens the door and steps through much to "Shadow's" shock. The Seven Shadows soon find themselves readying to fight the Pleiades. The are ordered to stand down by their respective leaders. The two approach each other and come to a conclusion that they have switched bodies.

Later the ending scenes showcase members of both Nazarick and Shadow Garden interacting and mingling with each other in a friendly manner in both Nazarick and Alexandria. Ainz and Shadow, still in each other's bodies, then pay a visit to the Treasury, where Shadow is introduced to Pandora's Actor and the two get along with each other due to both being "chuunibyous" much to Ainz's discomfort. There while shifting through the piles of gold, Shadow finds a strange button device. Ainz recognizing it attempts to prevent Shadow from pressing it, but is too late.

The two then soon find themselves back in their respective bodies, exactly where they were when body switch happened. Both believe it to be just a dream and have different opinions of it, with Shadow finding it all wasn't that bad while Ainz found it to be exhausting. Later the episode ends with a TO BE CONTINUED...?

This episode was a dream collaboration that was inspired by the 2023 April Fool's Day project between "Pure Pure Pleiades" x "Kage-Jitsu!"
