Plum Ganen (プラム・ガネン) is a dark elf and a member of an unnamed dark elf village in the Great Forest of Evasha.

Appearance[]

When angered, Ganen is known to get red-faced. According to Ainz, Ganen's eyes, when filled with a mixture of respect, adoration, and passion, reminded him of the scary eyes of a certain girl from the Roble Holy Kingdom.

Personality[]

Ganen belongs to the camp of dark elves who advocates for allowing the younger generation to have a greater say in the direction of the village. Henceforth, he sees the elders of his vacillate to be obstinate old timers that need to step aside. He is quite passionate in these views, quickly changing from an approachable elf to a heavily-breathing fanatic.

Separate from his fanaticism, Ganen is an incredibly sharp dark elf, as he can spot subtle details that others might not, such as Ain's uncanny face.

Background[]

Ganen is one of the Vice Masters of the Hunt of his village along with Beniri and Ovei. He also belongs to a young faction of dark elves who dislikes the elders value of tradition and lore, and instead advocates for a society that is led by those with superb skills and abilities.

Chronology[]

The Half Elf God-kin Arc[]

Main article: The Half Elf God-kin I and The Half Elf God-kin II Arc

After Blueberry Egnia alerted all the rangers in the village of the possibility of an Ankyloursus in close vicinity to the village, ideas were tossed around on whether or not to alert the other villages. When the Master of the Hunt Apple and Egnia agreed to allow the elders to handle disseminating the knowledge, Ganen had his own suggestion of approaching the elders with all their opinions so that they would heed to the majority. His disrespect of the elders was admonished by Apple. Before Ganen could argue any further, Egnia covered his mouth so as to prevent an argument and remind everyone of the present danger. To prepare the village for a possible attack, Ganen was assigned to inform the Chief Pharmacist.

Presumably he witnessed Aura save the village from the Ankyloursus Lord. During the two days in which Aura stayed in the village to wait for the members of her 'family' to arrive, the Vice Master of the Hunter had become a devoted fanatic of the young dark elf.

After a successful hunt of a Gigahorn Elk that was taken down by Aura, the carcass and meat was brought back to the village. As the meat was being distributed, Ganen made sure to remind everyone that it was Aura who bagged the game. The praise of Aura by the crowd continued, with a few mentioning perhaps Aura should lead, Though a few were concerned about her age, lead to Ganen to fiercely rebuke the traditional values of the elder, and favored superior ability as the only quality that mattered.[1]

When Aura's uncle and brother, Ain Bell Fior and Mare Bello Fiore, arrived at the village, Ganen was among the first elves to question Ain about his profession and abilities. Though his questioning only caused more questions, due to his limited world view. He was later shocked when Ain did not show proper respect to Aura, asking if his niece and nephew could play with the other children during their stay.[2]

Abilities and Powers[]

Ganen is a ranger and serves as one of the three Vice Masters of the Hunt.

Relationships[]

Blueberry Egnia[]

The two appear to be friends with Egnia at times restraining Ganen from any rash words towards his superior.

Apple[]

Apple is Ganen’s superior, but despite Apple's position, Ganen doesn’t appear to be concerned about overstepping his authority and is willing to argue his case to his senior.

Aura Bella Fiora[]

Ganen belonging to a faction of young elves advocates that those with skills and superior ability should be given the right to lead. Hence Aura who displays superior physical strength and skills is someone who he respects and adores with a passion. In fact he was always bedazzled by her physical movements in the forest that it was comical to watch him amazed at seeing her feats.

Ain Bell Fior[]

Upon meeting Aura's 'uncle', Ganen was curious to know if Ain was a had any forest elf blood in him, as Ain's his features seemed odd. Though he accepted Ain's story that it could possibly the case. Originally thinking that Ain was a powerful ranger like Aura, he was a bit disappointed that the traveler was a wizard, though he truly was ignorant of what the profession was, only understanding that it belonged to the magic caster classes and that it was related to physical combat. He was though baffled when Ain treated his niece as a child, not something he expected as a person with an incomparable should be treated.

Trivia[]

  • One of the other Vice Masters of the Hunt is a female dark elf and like Egnia, she wields a dark elf composite bow.

Quotes[]

  • (Ganen’s suggestion): “Hey, just hold on a minute, we should consolidate our opinions. If we present it as the opinion from the majority, it’ll come in handy in winning the argument when those hard-headed old farts start proposing we do something weird.”
  • (On the elders): “What is age? Is just being older something great!? No! Certainly, there are people who have accumulated experience and have become skilled with age, but that’s not something that naturally comes with age. Age cannot be the absolute yardstick we measure everything against—But, you see! Only ability can be absolute!!”
