Full Summary

During the battle at Broken Towers, Momon defeated two of the Skeletal Dragons and Hamsuke defeated the last one using her new warrior class. Nabe on the other had remains back on the sidelines, as she is a 3rd tier magic caster thus her magic is useless against the undead dragons. After Momon, Nabe, and Hamsuke rescue the Fist from the three Skeletal Dragons are thanked by Antwali and the rest of the workers.

With the threats eliminated, Momon tells the workers of Darkness's mission from the Sorcerer Kingdom by Prime Minister Albedo, in locating the Ghost Ship that has been allegedly reported in the Katze Plains.

Unfortunately the workers have very little to share on the Ghost Ship, as it is regarded as hearsay. The workers after their brush with death opt to return to the Free City of Vadis to recover rather than accompany the adamantite adventurers deeper into the plains though wish them luck. In their opinion, the workers feel they were lucky to escape with their lives and they do not want to take any risks, also because they are deeply exhausted and do not have enough strength to fight. After the conversation between the two groups, Fist leaves the area of the Broken Tower 1.

Once the workers are gone, Ainz stops acting like Momon and orders Hamsuke and Narberal to begin searching for the Ghost Ship. To cover more ground, Ainz summons a group of Elder Liches to explore the depths of the Katze Plains and also to eliminate any undead in the area that might become a nuisance. From the initial survey, one of the liches discovers a new type of unknown undead that resembles a crab. The Undead Crab interests Momonga, given it is an anomaly in the plains, and desires to acquire later at least until he can locate the Ghost Ship.

After a few minutes, the Elder Liches find the location of the Ghost Ship. Ainz with Narberal and Hamsuke, along with the Elder Liches, fly to board the ship. While in the air, they are spotted by the ship's crew, which is composed of skeletons. The skeletons quickly take out their bows and crossbows and begin firing their arrows at Ainz, Narberal, and Hamsuke to prevent them from landing. Of course, the attacks do not harm the group as Ainz's magic safeguard his group.

Without much trouble, they descend onto the ship. Suddenly, an Elder Lich dressed in pirate garb appears from the captain's cabin. Without wasting any time, the Elder Lich introduces himself as Captain Greluné and in an annoyed tone asks Ainz's group what they are doing to his wife's body.

Ainz, confused, asks which woman he is referring to. Greluné furiously tells him that he is ignorant for being so violent with a lady and reveals that his wife is the same ship which he considers as his beautiful wife, her name being Steel Valkyrie. It is revealed that the ship is actually an undead in the form of a ship. And while she cannot speak, but Steel Valkyrie does have a will.

Narberal and Hamsuke stay out of the conversation between Ainz and the Captain, with orders not to interfere even if they are attacked. Captain Greluné, while calming down a bit, is impressed to see Ainz, Narberal and Hamsuke, and since he does not detect any negative energy from them. Not realizing that Ainz is undead due to his helm, the Elder Lich assumes that all three of them are living beings. It's revealed that the Ghost Ship has always been sailing in the depths of the Katze Plains, thus Greluné has never had the chance to see the living and finds it interesting encountering them. Although he finds it odd that the living are escorted by Elder Liches.

Ainz corrects the Elder Lich's assumption by revealing he is actually an undead and shows his skeletal face. Upon seeing his face, Grelene explodes with rage and jealousy at the Overlord's beautiful skeletal appearance. For such an offense, the captain attacks Ainz with fireballs, but the magical attacks do no good and Ainz is unharmed. Despite the attack, Ainz refrains from retaliating as his goal is to get the Ghost Ship intact.

But since Elder Lich is not willing to continue talking, Ainz uses his [Undead Domination] skill to take control of the ship holding her hostage. Greluné angrily calls Ainz a coward for using a woman as a shield, but to prevent any harm to his wife he submits to the Overlord. Greluné is then questioned by Ainz on his and the ship's origins. The captain only reveals what he knows of his existence, his wife's and the love they have for one another.

The thought that a naturally spawned undead can feel the emotion of love to another undead intrigues Ainz. He decides to spare Greluné as he wants the Elder Lich willingly join him a subordinate, and also to participate in a series of experiments.

Now that the Ghost Ship is under his control, he decides to test Steel Valkyrie's combat abilities. So Ainz forces the ship to head towards the area where the Undead Crab is to engage in battle. The ship and its skeleton crew engage the crustacean in battle. Unfortunately Ainz finds the battle is disappointing as only the skeletons with their bows and crossbows are attacking and the attacks do not seem to harm the Undead Crab. But while the Ghost Ship itself has almost no offensive power, sees its value defensive power, as she is capable of withstanding a great deal of damage and also has the ability to completely negate fire damage. These qualities give it excellent defensive performance. In the end, Ainz uses [Undead Domination] on the giant undead crab and orders it to board the ship and join the crew. Ainz gives Greluné a choice to either swear loyalty and serve the Sorcerer Kingdom or he and his wife will perish. Without much choice, Greluné accepts the terms.

At the Free City of Vadis, Fist discuss the relationship between Momon and the Sorcerer Kingdom. They think that the Sorcerer King maliciously used the story of the Ghost Ship as an excuse to send Momon and his team into the depths of the Katze Plains to die. This is generally believed to be the case, as the workers know of Momon's selflessness in staying behind in E-Rantel to protect its citizens from the terrible evils of the undead king.

While they talk, they are surprised when they see the colossal Ghostly Ship suddenly appearing from the fog of the plains and heading towards the Sorcerer Kingdom. The members of the Fist are speechless when they see Momon, Nabe, and Hamsuke aboard the vessel, declaring that the hero Momon has survived the Sorcerer King's trap. Though become befuddled when they spot the giant undead crab on the deck of the ship as it is a bizarre scene.
