Summary[]

Part 1[]

A brutal slaughter of the Quagoa besieging the gate unfolds, leaving many in bloody, maimed heaps on the ground. Panicked by the Death Knight, the Quagoa flee in terror, only to be pursued by a second knight emerging from the open gate. As they scatter, some are mercilessly hacked to death in their flight.

Suddenly, a group from Clan Pu Rimidol charges in the opposite direction, rushing towards the new enemies. They berate their fleeing comrades, proclaiming that cowardice has no place among them. Members of Clan Po Guzua and Clan Zu Aygen join the assault, forming a ten-strong Quagoa team. With courageous resolve, they charge at the Death Knights, but their bravery is met with swift and ruthless defeat as the entire team is easily cut down.

Before a ground slick with Quagoa blood and scattered body parts, one of the Death Knights lets out a deafening roar. The Quagoa at the rear of the assault team whimper and recoil in fear. The second Death Knight, spotting the remaining Quagoa, roars again, charging and mercilessly cutting them down.

Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the suspension bridge spanning the Great Rift to the fortress leading to the tunnel of Feo Jera, Quagoa commander Yozu inquires about the assault team's progress. His subordinates report no new developments. Yozu understands that capturing the gate is crucial to seizing the dwarven city of Feo Jera, rich with rare ores. Controlling these resources would grant them dominion over the mountain range, though the arrogant Frost Dragons pose a formidable obstacle. Yozu, however, prioritizes destroying the dwarves.

A chilling scream echoes from the fortress's tunnel, puzzling Yozu's subordinates and sparking fears of a dwarf counterattack. Several Quagoa cross the bridge to investigate.

From his vantage point, Yozu spots the Death Knights, mistaking them for Giant Dwarves or Dwarf Lords. Horrifyingly, the Quagoa on the other side witness their fallen comrades rising as undead, recognizing the work of dark magic.

The Death Knights and their undead thralls then storm the suspension bridge, slaughtering all in their path. Yozu's subordinate asks for orders, and after a moment's hesitation, Yozu commands his warriors to cut the bridge. There are concerns about the army's detour, but Yozu insists, knowing that if those creatures cross, they will all perish.

Some Quagoa bravely attempt to hinder the Death Knights by jumping on them. Yozu takes charge, entering the bridge himself. Just as the Death Knights and undead approach, he successfully severs the bridge's bindings. The undead and some Quagoa plummet into the abyss of the Great Rift, while Yozu narrowly escapes by hanging onto the remains of the bridge against the cliff wall. In a final attempt, a Death Knight hurls a fallen Quagoa at Yozu, who dodges the attack but loses his grip, hanging precariously from a rope. Afterward, Yozu resolves to report the events to Clan Lord Pe Riyuro.

Part 2[]

A little while ago, Ainz had sent out the Death Knights before the gate closed shut. To build a cooperative rapport with the Dwarf Kingdom, Ainz lent them his strength, his Death Knights, to eliminate the Quagoa and bring a quick resolution. Though worries if he is too effective that the dwarves may not need to rely on the Sorcerer Kingdom and no longer align with his nation. So Ainz plans to hunt the demi-humans in just the right way so that the dwarves have no choice but to turn to him for aid.

The Sorcerer King's thoughts are diverted when Gondo Firebeard informs his highness that he will be heading to his domicile. Having apparently planned this with Gondo, Ainz permits the dwarf his departure, reminding him to prepare the matter they talked about on his end. Gondo promises to do so for the Overlord, the two sealing their exchange in a fist bump. As Gondo makes his leave, the Commander-in-Chief and Chief of Staff, and the other dwarven soldiers are left to attend to Ainz. Not wanting to keep the monarch waiting, the Commander offers to guide the Sorcerer King to the Regency Council so that he can convey his proposal to them. Ainz allows this, and has the dwarf escort him and his delegation, composed of Aura Bella Fiora, Shalltear Bloodfallen, and Zenberu Gugu, while their mounts are left behind.

The band are brought into Feo Jera, bustling with activity. Ainz's passage through the city is not without some obstacle, as a few pedestrians are terrified by the undead's appearance. As the Commander leads the Sorcerer Kingdom delegation, Ainz sees that the dwarves in the city are continuing business as usual, despite their city being under siege awhile. When he mentions the lack of worry in the air to the Commander, the latter states that the dwarven public are not aware of the invasion. The Quagoa were so fast in their attack that no information was spread about the invasion to the dwarves. The decision of the Regency will be left to the on whether or not to reveal it to the public.

The Sorcerer King gives the Commander some assurances, that his servants will soon retake the bridge. However he wonders aloud that even if they do retake the city from the Quagoa, will it remain safe? This being an important factor especially when trading with another country. In response the Commander looks downcast as even eh finds it a difficult question to answer concerning the fate of his nation. Given the size of the enemy, the Commander suspects that the Quagoa will try to find a detour route, making it necessary for the dwarves to come up with a countermeasure.

While passing some apprehensive dwarves, Ainz let's out a dramatic "What!". The Commander startles asks what is wrong, but is told by the Sorcerer King it is nothing. To the contrary though, Ainz mind is racing, as he senses that the two Death Knights he created disappeared simultaneously, meaning that they were defeated. Unaware of the fates of his Death Knights, this worries him as leading him to speculate that there are strong people in the area. His speculation leads to the idea that he may have found traces of a player, which could be related to the person who brainwashed Shalltear. This leads to him to wonder if there is a player among the Quagoa. His discounts this notion, as if there were a player in the ranks of the Quagoa, then the dwarven city would have fallen already. Such a feat would be easy for someone as strong as a player. Still not sure on whether or no a player could be a factor, Ainz determines that he still does not have enough information.

The delegation is soon brought to the Council Chamber. Ainz and his subordinates are shown to a room to wait. There Ainz notes dwarven architecture to having low ceilings. Zenberu takes the opportunity to ask his liege that since the Sorcerer King will be talking to the dwarven leaders, then perchance he could sit it out as he finds formal conversation exhausting. Shalltear chides this, commenting that the lizardman was a former chieftain of a tribe. In response the lizardman states that even Shalltear has her strength and weakness, and his decision to step back from the formal proceedings are to prevent him from causing trouble for their liege.

To Zenberu's shock, AInz wants him on the negotiations, so as to better protect the lizardman in case the dwarves turn hostile. In that regard Ainz states it would be foolish to let down their guard even now. Though Zenberu silently acknowledges his superior's words, Shalltear basks in them, stating she has seared them into her heart. Still her reaction causes who concern from Ainz. Before he can contemplate that, two dwarven guards open the door to the room, informing him and his delegation that the Regency Council is ready to see him.

The two guards then escort the Sorcerer Kingdom delegates to the room where the council is waiting, announcing their arrival. Including the Commander, seven other dwarves are present sitting at a table. Ainz taking in the dwarves that are seated, silently realizes that he can't even tell them apart in the room due to their beards.

The Commander formally welcomes the Sorcerer Kingdom to the Dwarf Kingdom and asks Ainz to have a seat. Ainz maintain a calm demean, sits at the table and coolly states that they should get started.
