Summary[]
At Ro-Lente Castle, King Ramposa III is visited late at night by the Minister of Internal Affairs and correctly deduces the Kingdom's fall as Zanac and the royal army have lost contact. Saddened that he lost another son like Barbro, Ramposa III relieves everyone in the castle of their positions to flee under the veil of night. However, Raposa III sought to stay and meet the impending conqueror as the last king of the Re-Estize Kingdom. Meanwhile, all members of Eight Fingers are gathered at the home of Hilma Cygnaeus, including the liberated Ampetif Cocco Doll, who asks why he's still considered since he lost his connections following his arrest. But as the others like Hilma, Prian Polson, are being considerate, Coco Doll immediately suspects foul play as everyone is behaving contrary to how he knows them, as well as noticing they have all lost substantial weight. Noah Zweden tells Coco Doll that it showed their experience, confusing him until a [Gate] appears and Shalltear Bloodfallen steps through, ordered to relocate the roughly 1,000 persons before the royal capital is destroyed. As Olin goes to gather everyone together, Noah introduces Coco Doll to Shalltear, but she orders they transport the "luggage" first, much to their confusion.
Once relocated to the Monument of Ruin, Shalltear orders they situate there for now with plenty of stocked food and goes to take Coco Doll to be taken to Kyouhukou, seeing his friends stay put as he pleads for help and realizes he is to expect horrors. After his departure, the Eight Fingers leadership knew they couldn't save him, and Noah equates his coming experience to a baptism, knowing he'll understand, and Hilma thanks the Sorcerer King. The next morning, Cocytus marches with Aura and Mare leading an invasion force into Re-Estize. Further back, Ainz Ooal Gown casts several buff spells with Albedo beside him, as both anticipate an enemy attack at any moment. Proven right, Azuth Aindra arrives in his Armor of Reinforcement, and Ainz reminds Albedo to collect information foremost. She acknowledges and asks about him, and Ainz aims to play his role to perfection. Azuth shoots [Chain Dragon Lightning] to destroy the Death Knight Guards, but his [Fireball] deals negligible damage, and Ainz orders Albedo to pursue him. Knowing she could easily catch up upon her Bicorn, Albedo is amazed her opponent thinks her so blind as not to consider he's playing a decoy. Using gattling fire and heavy magic to no avail, Albedo lands a punch and realizes he's so much weaker than her that he's practically tofu.
Once Albedo insults him, Azuth monologues about the cruelty of the Sorcerer Kingdom and plays into Albedo's plans. Back with Ainz, he couldn't believe Azuth would be working alone and is proven right once an earlier spell cast stops another enemy and trips [Explode Mine]. Facing the new adversary, Ainz uses [Life Essence] to see a large HP but no MP, deducing him to be a full warrior. Struck by a large hammer, Ainz is saved by his earlier cast of [Body of Effulgent Beryl] and plays that he negated the weakness to physical damage. His opponent then casted [World Isolation Barrier] and saw it cost a considerable amount of HP. When inquiring about his name, the armored foe announced himself as "Riku Aganeia," and Ainz recalls how the Thirteen Heroes had a member with platinum armor akin to what "Riku" is wearing. When Ainz asks if he can call him "Riku, his foe is rather offended, and finds a compromise addressing him as "Aganeia" instead. Ainz proposes that Aganeia become his subordinate, finding him to be worth more than the kingdom, but deduces from the silent response that Aganeia does not care for the kingdom himself.
With negotiations failing, Aganeia casts [Cloak of Light], and Ainz sees his HP go down again. Using [Greater Teleportation], he is blocked due to the earlier spell and finds the barrier also prevents physical items within from leaving. Sensing Aganeia closing in, Ainz casts [Body of Effulgent Beryl] again and saves himself from a Knockback attack, seeing Aganeia's HP lower again. After Aganeia tells Ainz that he'll perish within the barrier, Ainz casts [Twin Magic, Obsidian Sword] to deflect the oncoming broadsword but misses the dodging Aganeia. When the broadsword swings again, [Wall of Skeleton] and Blasting Staff repel the weapon, but Ainz casting [Grasp Heart] fails, indicating that the armor is remote controlled. With the barrier wall directly behind him, Ainz uses [Greater Teleportation] again to gain altitude and recasts [Body of Effulgent Beryl]. In close combat, Ainz blasts [Call Great Thunder] but is still struck, then uses the Blasting Staff to knockback Aganeia to reduce a headshot to a cheek scratch.
Taking a moment to explain how the Blasting Staff works and why it's helpful for Magic Casters against enemies, Aganeia then rushes in, and Ainz casts [Summon Undead 10th, Doom Lord], demanding to see the full strength of Aganeia. As Doom Lord holds back the flying weapons, Ainz assesses that Aganeia is around Level 90 tank specializing in hand-to-hand combat, with his weapons also having HP extensions of himself. Recalling his knockback, the weapons maintained a fixed radius around him, and as he is remotely fighting him, he concludes he cannot gain further intelligence using Doom Lord. Messaging Albedo to finish up, he aims to finish up as well, just as Doom Lord is vanquished. Ainz then casts [Summon Undead 10th, Elemental Skull], which can cast magic of the four great elemental spirits, doubting Aganeia could withstand all four. But as Aganeia charges in mid-monologue, Ainz demands he listens to him talking and casts aside his Blasting Staff to plead he hear him. Prostrated, Ainz brings up the inciting event resulting in their war, asking what Aganeia's position would be if such would happen to him.
Aganeia counters that those in charge must govern carefully and take responsibility for their actions, and that he must protect the world as he states the misuse of "our power" caused everything and won't stop to beg for forgiveness. Not willing to stay silent and punish Ainz, Albedo breaches the [World Isolation Barrier] to attack Aganeia, noticeably overwhelming him in power. Recalling Albedo, Ainz again invites Aganeia to join him, but the warrior dispels his buffs to leave as Ainz informs him that he'll be welcomed anytime, and the barrier dissipates. With the chance they're still under observation, Albedo requests they return to Nazarick, and Ainz agrees.
Elsewhere, Azuth is stationed at a rendezvous and is met by the remote armor playing as Aganeia, controlled by Tsaindorcus Vaision. Tsaindorcus asks about Azuth's battle with Albedo, and he confesses to using his weapons only to keep her at a distance, doing no real damage and apologizing as she raced to his fight with Ainz. As both their battles were impossible to win, Azuth sadly concludes that the Kingdom will fall, to which Tsaindorcus apologizes for failing to stop. Tsaindorcus doesn't hold Azuth at fault but believes that he underestimated the Sorcerer King's power and notes how Albedo breached his [World Isolation Barrier] while Ainz did not. As the only ones capable are those with World Items and casters of Wild Magic, Tsaindorcus postulates that Albedo must have been a puh-layer and Ainz was an en-pii-see. Not impossible, Tsaindorcus sees it clever to place one's self in a secondary position to ensure their safety but also thinks the Sorcerer King may have had two World Items but failed to equip one for their fight.
Azuth asks about the Sorcerer King's strength, hoping his armor could do something, but Tsaindorcus affirms he stands no chance. He also concludes that he has a good idea of his power, and a single blow wouldn't be enough to stop him, but there is a possible path to victory. While Azuth praises Tsaindorcus as the strongest Dragon Lord, Tsaindorcus notes there are others more powerful than him, but he could defeat the Sorcerer King with his skill set being a good counter. Before he forgets, Tsaindorcus informs Azuth that he called himself "Riku Aganeia" in his battle and asks that Azuth help remember it, as it was a randomly conceived name and is sorry for anyone with such a name in the world. Now earning the ire of the Sorcerer King and his Prime Minister, Tsaindorcus also warns Azuth to be careful as they plan to defeat the evil puh-layers.
In the Argland Council State, Tsaindorcus is alone with himself and considers killing Azuth to bequeath his armor to someone more powerful and obedient. Recalling the name "Riku," a reflective Tsaindorcus concludes his hands are dirty enough and considers it, but holds off to deliberate more carefully as resurrection magic is active in the world. In Nazarick, Albedo and Ainz enter the Throne Room to kneel before the real Ainz Ooal Gown, with Shalltear beside him and Demiurge holding the Mirror of Remote Viewing, congratulating Albedo and Pandora's Actor on their mission. That said, Pandora's Actor resumes his true form and states himself unworthy of Ainz's words. While the battle was observed remotely, Ainz still ordered Pandora's Actor to divulge his assessments on all details to grant a full analysis to the participants present. Ainz wants to know everything about who Riku Aganeia is.
