"Re-Estize Kingdom" (リ・エスティーゼ王国 Ri Esutīze Ōkoku) is the second episode of the Overlord IV adaptation. It was first broadcasted on July 12, 2022.

Summary[]

At night, Ainz Ooal Gown reflects on how he wishes to rule his Sorcerer Kingdom, pondering words possibly once said by Ulbert. Fith notices his distracted mind, and he stands up to also muse about Demiurge and Albedo's world conquest scheme they "inferred" from his past actions. Opening a window, Ainz feels making the nation a utopia for all races would likely bring peace and lead any of his friends in the New World to him. As he sighs, unsure to tell his guardians, Fith misunderstands and apologetically prostrates, thinking she possibly failed Ainz on her shift.

In Re-Estize, Renner finishes a book reading at a newly opened orphanage before being escorted by Climb with Blue Roses members, Evileye and Tina. Explaining how she funded the orphanage, Renner claims the strong must save the weak, sending Climb to his memory of her rescuing him from poverty. Finding that the orphanage will reduce crime among the orphaned youths, it also grants jobs to war widows following the Massacre at Katze Plains. Renner also states that should some orphans be found to have talent, other nobles may also invest, something Evileye can pragmatically agree on. Renner elaborates that Brain Unglaus gave her the idea as he seeks pupils for his swordsmanship to combat the Sorcerer King one day. As Renner requests to know Evileye's hidden talent, the adventurer yells in a retort, sending Renner into Climb's lap in fright.

After a euphemism on Climb spoiling Renner, Evileye explains all talents are different, like Lakyus, whose power contains the evil within her Sword, which can level a city. Considering Lakyus's absence, Climb asks about her whereabouts, and Tina answers that she's training Tia and Gagaran back to their prior strength, having lost life force from resurrection after their encounter with Jaldabaoth. Noting they cannot match the demon, Tina's mention of Momon sends Evileye into a swoon as she advertises his incredible strength but laments he serves the Sorcerer King. Tina asks Evileye if she has a chance to kill the undead king, but she finds it impossible considering the rumors and believes Momon is the only one capable.

At Ro-Lente Castle, Prince Zanac with a minister, hears the continued search for his brother yielded no results but orders another search, and as Marquis Raeven has retreated to his domain after the lost war. Going to greet Renner, Zanac ponders how best to deal with the Sorcerer Kingdom without losing face with the Nobles. Yet, Renner tells him about an impeding envoy and advises he give tribute to their arrival, which will give an acceptable excuse. Once a guard relays about the envoy's arrival, Zanac thanks Renner with the promise of granting a plot of land for her to live out her life as he leaves, but she denies his offer under her breath once she's alone. Elsewhere, Brain trains his Six-Fold-Slash under his master, Vesture Kloff Di Laufen, who notes the change in Brain's expression from his early days. Offering a proverb on growing strong, Brain dismisses it and informs Vesture that Gazef died against Ainz in the blink of an eye. But with Gazef gone, Brain explains he is seeking talent among the youths to replace him someday. Staring into storm clouds, Brain admits they will need all the strength they can muster, especially against the Sorcerer King.

Outside Re-Estize, Prince Zanac and a contingent stand outside the city walls as weather magic clears away storm clouds to provide a clear sky for the diplomatic envoy. Once met by a Death Cavalier, Zanac explains his role in guiding them to a diplomatic venue and orders his men to show no disrespect, then is greeted by the envoy: Albedo. At the venue in the evening, an improper noble stands by a corner in contempt for the crowd before Albedo is announced to the crowd. With the drunk young noble bewitched by her beauty, he walks up to her and introduces himself as Philip Dayton L'Eyre Montserrat. Later, he is berated by his father at home for pulling such a stunt in front of everyone, reminding Phillip that he was sent to the party so the Nobility Faction would see him as his family's next heir. Phillip tells his father to calm down, claiming their home borders Re-Estize and Nazarick, so they could maybe work a deeper relationship with the Sorcerer Kingdom. Although his father reminds him his brother died in the war, Phillip is glad as he is now next to inherit the family, shocking his father and butler. Despite his father explaining the logistics and questioning his logic, Phillip is steadfast and can't find any more reason. When the butler brings up the ball Phillip aims to host, he answers he has a venue after meeting someone who'll host for free-- Hilma Cygnaeus.

At Hilma's estate, Phillip is initially annoyed nobody greets him as host but is calmed by Hilma's explanation that everyone is new to leadership after the war, and they'll form his New Faction soon enough. Soon after, Phillip escorts Albdeo to the room for the ball while planning to take charge of the new faction, and being entranced by Albedo, asks about her marital status and is pleased to hear she's single. Right before they enter, Phillip moves with his hand on her shoulder but momentarily senses her killing intent before she feigns no bother. As they mingle, Hilma is unimpressed by the new nobles before Phillip informs her that Albedo wishes to relocate to the sitting room. While Phillip tries to come along, Hilma advises against it as it would stir gossip, considering he isn't her husband. While Phillip relents, he then asks how to court Albedo and cites his recent success with the venue, yet the terrified Hilma urges him not to pursue, but Phillip is ignorantly dismissive. Later, Albedo wipes off her shoulder in disgust that Phillip touched her as Hilma leads her to the sitting room. Afraid, Hilma asks if Albedo would like a new pawn for Ainz's plans, but Albedo assures Hilma it's alright considering his recent actions and that replacing him would be a waste. In the sitting room, Albedo greets the heads of Eight Fingers and begins instructing them on what goods to smuggle into E-Rantel.

Later in the night, Albedo meets with a devilishly happy Renner to relay that Ainz is happy with her efforts and gifts her a box. Thankful, Renner asks to relay her thanks to Ainz, and Albedo concurs before asking if she knows her next task well. Renner knows what she must do and is happy to receive her reward once she pays the price, as she has already laid the groundwork to open the box. Once the shadow demon leaves to relay information about their exchange, Albedo concludes their serious talk by having girl talk with Renner about her "puppy" Climb and Albedo about Ainz.
