Guide to Entering the Great Tomb of Nazarick (ナザリック入墓の手引き) is the eighty-first chapter of the Overlord: The Undead Oh! series.
Summary[]
Demiurge shows Albedo a booklet he made, the Nazarick Tomb Entrance Guide which contains a summary of rules and basic information on the Great Tomb of Nazarick. Demiurge explains that as Ainz Ooal Gown will likely continue to absorb various forces in the future, there will no doubt be unnecessary disputes that will arise between newcomers from different cultural backgrounds. However if they decide in the future what to teach their new subordinates, they can prevent problems that fall within the predictable range. Albedo see, hence the purpose of this booklet.
However she asks why for some reason that the bathing rules for large communal bath are the most detailed? Demiurge tells Albedo is she recalls, from experience, if one does not follow the rules, the golem there will go on a rampage.
Next time Demiurge plans to have Pulcinella hold an seminar, as he would like to hear the actual opinions of the participants, so he would like Renner to attend. And after watching Tuare, Demiurge adds that he is planning to call the humans from outside for face to face meetings. Albedo wonders if that is alright. But since Tuare works in E-Rantel, there aren't many opportunities to meet with them. In addition there are some things that can only be discussed between humans.
At the lecture, when Tuare meets Renner, the former royal greets her with a stunning attitude that almost is too much for the commoner. The maid still cannot believe that she is actually meeting Princess Renner and that her title as the "Golden Princess" is well deserved as the rumors say. Likewise Renner is intrigued about Tuare since humans in Nazarick are a rarity.
Tuare admits that while this is true, she and Renner have little in common. The maid then notices the small wings protruding from Renner's back and inquires about them. Renner happily states that they are real, all thanks to Albedo's demonic powers which resulted in her becoming a demon. This makes Tuare realize that Renner is no longer human anymore.
Pulcinella finishes reading the content of the booklet and asks Renner is there are any problems. Renner says that all the information that she was given seems to be correct. Tuare is then asked by the clown, who is ashamed to say that there are still things that she does not know...but was a great learning experience. Seeing her having a notebook and taking notes, Pulcinella praises Tuare on her studiousness. However the next part of the lecture Pulcinella states that he will explain the secret rules of Nazarick, where notes are strictly prohibited much to the maid's alarm.
Pulcinella tells his students that since this information he is about to reveal, cannot left in in writing as it will need to be burned. So he will explain it verbally. In fact this lecture is to talk about the secret rules of Nazarick. And these are rules that one needs to know in order to live happily in Nazarick.
One being is to not carelessly approach the battle for the main bride. To elaborate, the clown tells the two that Ainz Ooal Gown has yet to select a queen, but behind the scenes, many factions have arisen and are contesting the position of Official Queen. Thus he warns that there are consequences if they carelessly intrude in a faction dispute. As for what may happen Pulcinella makes a motion of opening his clenched palm, which Tuare interprets as an explosion.
Pulcinella then gives the pair of newcomers the rundown of the two major factions. Firstly he explains that he is an Albedo fan, as he admires her status, power and intelligence as Overseer Guardian. Thus he sees her worthy of standing next to Ainz. Adding to that he says that Albedo's looks are on her side so she has a strong following of active supporters.
Pulcinella also tells Renner that since she is under Albedo's command, she is automatically considered a part of Albedo's Faction. From this, Renner wonders aloud if she's already gotten too close to the bride battle. Tuare thinks that as long as she doesn't say anything.
Going on, Pulcinella reveals the second of the two major factions, which is Shalltear's Faction. She is worthy of being Ainz's queen as she is also undead according to many opinions. A lot of support obviously comes from the 1st to 3rd Floors which contain a lot of undead. There's also those that think Albedo is smart and a bit scary, so they feel it's better to have someone just as intelligent like Shalltear. Tuare fumes to herself at being unable to write this all down, but knows that if she did she'll probably lose her life.
Pulcinella tells his listeners that both Shalltear and Albedo battle openly for the title of queen. And thus when they fight, one is either on Albedo's or Shalltear's side. In actuality among the servants in Nazarick, there are subdivisions who are divided on who they would like to nominate as queen. So it is best to keep that in mind.
While Tuare admits it seems complicated, she states that she will do her best. Pulcinella though tells that she should not worry, as in terms of a survey, there are factions in the "Other" category, but the number of candidates are too small. His advice is to just belong to two of the major factions and they will not lose. As for the other factions, while their numbers may be small they must be something that they can't just be ignored. In regards to this Renner feels that they could potential be a big faction.
One of the minority factions is those who support Aura Bella Fiora, or Aura's Faction. Granted that this faction is not expecting her to be a bride candidate currently, but many in the future it's a possibility. Aura is currently in her 70s, but when she becomes an adult she will be worthy as a queen candidate. And many of her supporters want to live in the future and have great expectations for her. However, unlike the two major factions, Aura has not declared her intention to participate in the queen war. So even members of this outrageous faction usually keep quiet. But behind the scenes, Aura's supporters all admire her, wanting to be tamed, scolded and see her overwhelming power. Though the way Pulcinella describes it, to Tuare, their love for Aura seems a bit distorted.
The next is Narberal's Faction. And while Narberal is in Albedo's faction, she is secretly recommended as one of the bride candidates for Ainz. Afterall she is the partner of Ainz's alter ego Momon the Dark. It's fantasized that the distance in their relationship is shrinking and they are made an unofficial couple from a healthy support by the general maids. Apparently they sometimes imagine the romance between Momon and Beautiful Princess Nabe. Renner finds this a bit ironic, as among humans Momon and Nabe are seen as partners in both private and in public, and it seems that rumor is also alive here in Nazarick. Pulcinella comments that if you tell people about Momonabe, he thinks that they will be thrilled. The shipping phrase is lost to the two women.
There is also Solution's Faction. And though Solution is on Shalltear's side, she is also listed as a candidate for queen. Though she is mostly supported those of her race and slime lovers. Tuare thinks about Solution, unaware that she was such a strict person, but felt that she was very loyal to her mission, and that she was certainly a capable and sensible person. It's no wonder she has such support. Pulcinella says that her supporters feel that if Ainz body needs a slime clean him in the bath, Solution is most suited to be selected as the main bride. This brings up questions on what are the reasons for this. Regardless of the position, Official Wife, the envy of the slime is the aim for the bathing attendant of Ainz. So for now they keep their eyes open for the future. This impresses Renner, to think that this is a slime's dream status to be in charge of bathing.
There's the Neuronist Faction as Neuronist has openly declared herself as a participant in the competition. Though her supporters are composed mainly of her subordinates like the Torturers as they view their superior's love for Ainz to be deep, which shows in her work as a skilled torturer. And view her as most suited to be his wife. But there is some concern because Neuronist is androgynous, so there is no hope of having offspring. To Renner this is understandable as people want a direct successor.
On the other hand there's a support base for Mare's Faction due to his cuteness which is shocking to the two women that there are supporters. Speaking of succession, there is also a faction that does not care on who is named Official Wife. This is Cocytus's Faction who places great importance on a legitimate successor to Ainz. For a heir to be born, if there was a second or third wife then it wouldn't be a problem if the Official Wife did not give birth. Renner sees that this faction appears to be flexible. The clown agrees as even the faction considers toying with the concept that Ainz could split or duplicate himself to create a successor.
Additionally there are factions that think that it would be better to have a queen from outside the nation. Hearing this Renner sees that these factions are suggesting a political marriage. That this option would be pursued in the pursuit of peace and prosperity with other countries through the purpose of an alliance. To Tuare it makes sense as to why Renner is knowledgeable of this, being a member of the royal family. Thus marrying for love is difficult. As for this faction, the hopes of the outside world, brings dreams of a super stunning Overlord who could rival Ainz and be his queen. So majority of these people are dreamers.
Pulcinella their safety and to avoid making a very lengthy explanation regarding this internal conflict, he recommends that the most important thing to avoid a crisis is to no participate in the battel for title of First Queen. Renner tells the clown he doesn't have to worry as she is committed to Climb and isn't going to change her mind. Moreover Tuare is devoted to Sebas Tian. But Pulcinella tells them that it would be foolish to declare that they have no interest in Ainz it would likely cause resentment. Tuare finds that will be difficult. Thus Pulcinella suggests they find the right balance. That brings the end of the lecture, and Pulcinella tells his juniors to continue their happy life in Nazarick as he leaves.
Before Tuare leaves for home, Renner asks if she can come and shat at her room. Tuare though is not sure if she would be good company or have any entertaining stories to tell Renner. But to Renner she insists as Tuare is the only one in Nazarick she can brag to without hesitation. The maid seeing this nervously states that it must be a difficult topic to discuss with those in the middle of a battle for the position of First Wife.
At Renner's room, the imp tells Tuare over tea thay being here with Climb in Nazarick is alike a dream to her. However her guest Tuare while smiling can't help but think that they have nothing in common. But thinks she was like her, in that she was an individual who finally found happiness after coming to Nazarick. Though when Renner starts talking about her lovey life, it piques the maid's interest. They two grossly converse (Though much of their conversation is censored to the reader). But it was apparently a spicy conversation which causes Tuare to panic when Renner asks about her relationship with Sebas Tian.
Elsewhere Pulcinella is met by Demiurge who welcomes him back. The 7th Floor Guardian asks what's the status, to which the clown reports that it's unchanged. That the topic on the delicate topic of the queen war and succession was discussed. Currently Tuare is enjoying life in Nazarick the most through her interactions with Renner it's learned that she is conscious of her relationship with Sebas. emiurge finds this amazing, and hopes Renner can gives Tuare some advice to her. His interest lies in getting results in crossbreeding quickly without going through all the hassle. He hopes to use Tuare's relationship in a mating experiment as a reference. While Pulcinella still would like to make the supply of parchment more stable. Demiurge looks forward to Pulcinella hard work. Though complains that Sebas has yet to make up his mind with Tuare to move things forward, claiming it's not for his benefit but for Nazarick's.
Tuare meets with Sebas, who asks how the meeting went, but the maid states that it was amazing and full of vitality, vowing silently to follow her example much to the butler's confusion.
