It's An Obama Collaboration! All Together (オバマスコラボだよ!全員集合) is the seventy-fifth chapter of the Overlord: The Undead Oh! series.
Summary[]
In Ainz Ooal Gown's office, Albedo informs her master that the anniversary for the Obamas collaboration has come with Mass for the Dead. For the 5th Anniversary, the developers plan to take a picture for a new Chaos Relic. Ainz notes that it is just like the 4th Anniversary, and asks what the shooting theme is.
Albedo reports that the title for the theme is for Nazarick to be enjoying luxurious cuisine at a party. The Overseer Guardian has already made arrangements for the photo shoot, as expected by Ainz who entrusts her with the task. Albedo smiles calmly as she proceeds with this task.
Though this brings up "Duck's Water Scratching", a Japanese expression where a duck floats casually but beneath the surface of the water, the waterfowl is constantly scratching, indicating while appearing normal is actually suffering. This reflects the current situation with Albedo who is busy with multiple tasks. From calling out orders to get some clothes in the wardrobe that she prepared for Shalltear, Aura, and Demiurge, her past measuring data and pass a message to the Head Chef to prepare luxurious food for the part. Said orders are carried out in a rush by Sebas Tian, Lupusregina and Yuri.
Sebas comes back, carrying the three costumes Albedo requested. Albedo using a chalkboard marks that there are nine people left who need something to wear, not including her and Sebas who have costumes on hand. Her costume is the dress that she wears for diplomacy with the Re-Estize Kingdom, while Sebas's butler uniform is a suit which is fine. Sebas Tian jokes that if he were attending the upcoming feast shoot, he would be a waiter then.
Although Albedo mistakenly believes that Obamas is a mobile game involved in idol training. Thus Sebas Tian's character in the game must be an idol like the other characters in the game. She deduces that Sebas Tian's appearance as a butler in the game is due to it being considered stylish.
Yuri in hand returns with a book on the last measurement data as requested by Albedo. Albedo is relieved to have the book, as the data inside will save her time from having to remeasure the other costumes. This time though according to Yuri, Albedo intends to recreate the costumes that appeared in the game. The maid notes that Albedo does a superb job each anniversary year, though is worried she is being too overburden. The demon does not mind though as it is an opportunity to show off her sewing skills.
There is one problem, Yuri could not find any measurement data for Cocytus. Tis causes Albedo to remember that Cocytus is always naked and so she never made a costume for him previously. But she remembers that last year, they wore swimsuits, Cocytus included so there should have been measurements taken for the 5th Floor Guardian. Sebas explains that at the time, they were using magical equipment, which fitted their bodies regradless of body structure. But then recalls that Éclair and Kyouhukou took measurements of Cocytus, of his ice protrusions while making his handmade swimsuits. The data is deemed useless and Albedo decides to take measurements of Cocytus herself.
Albedo tells her helpers to offer any requests on their suits and dresses that they want to wear. But complains that it is frustrating for her to design costumes that have not been implemented in the game. Since Yuri is among those that need a new costume for the shoot. Yuri asks if that is alright for Albedo to do the design since she has so much on her plate. Albedo has someone to help her on that, as it turns out to be Renner to Yuri's shock.
The former princess shows Yuri her sketches for dresses she designed for Lupusregina and CZ. The sketches are nothing but impressive, by Albedo, pleasing Renner that being a member of royalty, having knowledge on fashion trends in social circles is being put to good use. She offers Yuri to include any accessories to her dress, though Yuri only has a request to keep her glasses as they are mementos of her creator Yamaiko. That's fine to Albedo, as there are idols with glasses.
Albedo asks Renner if she has anything to discuss. There is as it deals with Entoma, who Renner notes to be of the insect race. Renner wonders for her dress design, of how much skin should she expose. Yuri answers this and asks Renner to design a dress that doesn't expose anything at all. Yuri wishes she could show them Entoma's body design but lacks confidence in her artistic ability, so Albedo takes over handing over a book for them to see. It's a copy of the Anime Overlord II III Complete Art Book which they can use as a reference.
Albedo continues to direct Renner and Yuri for additional tasks, when she notices Shalltear and Aura behind her, with a tray of snacks and a tea set in hand. When Albedo inquires their presence, she realizes to her dismay that she was suppose to have a tea party with them. Aura can't believe Albedo forgot about their tea party, due to having so many things to do, so Shalltear suggests that the Overseer Guardian take a break. Albedo declines as she is too busy to take a break now. But concedes given that it's been a busy day.
The three ladies then take a moment to enjoy a small tea break when Shalltear asks if Albedo is still restless. She immediately gets an answer from Albedo, who shouts that she was stuck finding solutions to some of her task's problems, had now achieved an idea. To do this she demands a pen and paper.
Shalltear chides Albedo's obsessive behavior, as the latter has been busy working ever since the founding of the Sorcerer Kingdom and now to top it off she is handling this Relic photo. She warns Albedo if she tries to control everything it will become impossible. Aura offers their help, whether in help domestic duties or photo shooting task. The Overseer Guardian, considers taking Aura up on her offer, and asks Shalltear is she can handle the balance sheets, warning her not to buy cheap stuff.
Still Albedo feels like the work would go faster, if she did it herself. To Aura that would be true for talented people, though she knows she can't afford to let Albedo be overburden. An opportunity arises when Shalltear calls out Albedo for taking over so many responsibilities as a way to gain more credit. The vampire is extremely jealous as she wants to be praised by Ainz for hard work. Aura follows-up on the pressure for Albedo to share her workload, causing the demon to relent.
Albedo though wonders on what tasks she should entrust the two with, which Shalltear suggests that Albedo leave some work to her subordinates and the Pleaides. The demon has that covered as she relegated CZ to the venue and Lupusregina to ordering food and other light work which she will check on at the Canteen later. Aura decides that she and Shalltear will go altogether there that way the can split the tasks of evaluating the work. Despite their assurances that everything will be fine, Albedo's look of annoyance betrays how she feels of the two assisting her.
At the Canteen, the two Floor Guardians look at the "luxury cuisine", which is being managed by Lupusregina. Shalltear is eager to see what delicacies are in store, hoping to see a Blood Fountain, which Aura finds to be gross. The dark elf hopes that Lupusregina's perspective as a werewolf will bring about a better choice in dishes. Her hopes are dashed when she sees Lupusregina's sampling various dishes trying to differentiate red tartar sauce and red wine sauce. Aura immediately calls out the maid on abusing her authority to get serve lavish dishes. The maid cheerfully argues that she is seriously considering what luxurious foods to be served for the feast. Though Aura points out most of the selected dishes are all meat covered in brown sauce, which Lupusregina states is tartar sauce.
To add more color to the spread, the Floor Guardians tell Lupusregina to add seafood and salad. Not only that they also decided to add some more raised dishes, as if every dish was flat on the table it would be boring. Shalltear anticipates that they could add that Blood Fountain, but Aura changes it to be a chocolate fountain or layered cake instead.
At the feast venue, CZ is helping Pandora's Actor move so set items when the two female Floor Guardians come over. They though CZ was in charge of the set arrangement, which she is, but Pandora's Actor is making some photo shooting evaluations using his own camera before the main photographer arrives at the set. For this photo shoot there will be fourteen people performers, so they need to be creative in order to capture everyone on camera. Hence why he is using several torso mannequins to preview the scene.
This is a problem to Aura, as this photo is suppose to be a party where everyone is eating and talking. So the question begs on how to make fourteen people mingle naturally. CZ thinks maybe that they could have everyone chat in small groups but the dispersal of scenes would be difficult to compose according to Pandora's Actor. There should not be a need for everyone to be in one picture, as Shalltear comments that they could cut and paste separate photos taken for each group. It would be like a scrapbook which the others comment is agreeable. So much so that Pandora's Actor decides to include a photo of himself to be included in the shoot, which Shalltear notes was rude of him.
Aura and Shalltear find things to be in order and leave the rest to their friends so that they can report back to Albedo. Aura thinks that Albedo would be happy at the news and be happily concentrating on making costumes for the event. That's only partially the reality, as Albedo is multitasking listening to reports from an elder lich and Renner reminding her of various design features for each costume while she speed sews. This is totally the opposite of what Aura expected, but Albedo says it's okay whilst instructing her peers and conversing with the two other female Floor Guardians.
The rate at which Albedo is sewing so unbridled makes the other two Floor Guardians worry. Regardless Albedo is chipper in getting the costumes ready and even Shalltear comments that even though the fabric is hand sewn it looks machine sewn. Aura admits that the precision is scary. Albedo adds that she will tell Ainz of their achievements in aiding her, though Aura decline. slowly backing away from the crazed Floor Guardian. Aura quietly speaks to Shalltear, asking if they really helped Albedo, as the Overseer Guardian is a multitasking monster. In retrospect this is just a glimpse of horror of one of two Floor Guardians specializing in domestic affairs.
On the day of the photo shoot, all participants are dressed in their costumes, drinking and dining on the luxurious feast prepared. Aura who is eating duck carpaccio finding it delicious. She brings up the proverb, "Duck's Water Scratching" which is a saying that states that even though a duck seems to be floating comfortably , its webbed feet are constantly moving beneath the surface of the water. A metaphor for the fact that there is a hidden struggle going on behind the scenes, which to the dark elf reflects Albedo. In Aura's opinion if Albedo were a duck, the demon would have eight legs like a sleipnir, which Shalltear jokes Albedo would actually be called a kamopnir (Eight-legged duck).
