Out-of-field Brawl! Obamas Collaboration (場外乱闘!オバマスコラボ) is the forty-sixth chapter of the Overlord: The Undead Oh! series.

Summary[]

Albedo and Demiurge report to Ainz Ooal Gown that they received a secret correspondence via a secure channel. Since it's from a secure channel, Ainz wonders if it's from the Kingdom, Empire, or even the Theocracy, but he does not discount the message being from another neighboring country or organization. Ainz prepares to here the message and to his surprise Albedo reports that its from KADOKAWA.

Ainz's subordinates asks him if he recalls the smartphone game Mass for the Dead or commonly known as Obamas. As of now this year it is celebrating its second anniversary. Ainz thinks that a congratulations are in order which Demiurge agrees in this era of social-net games. Albedo states the second anniversary is an achievement as the "idol training game" has many rivals. Hence they should commemorate this anniversary. Demiurge suggests doing a 2nd Anniversary relic distribution. Ainz unfamiliar with the term, Demiurge them iterates that it's short for "Relics of Chaos" in the Obamas game which involves equipment with buff effect being made available to players. It is basically a common system for RPGs. That in mind, Albedo wonders if the equipment helps to increase dance parameters like by 20% or something similar. Though the name "Relic of Chaos" draws a question of why something like that would be for an idol game.

Demiurge further reports that each of these relics have a set image. For this commemoration, Nazarick will be in charge of the image. Albedo suggests doing a theme of "Celebrating the 2nd Anniversary And Gathering Everyone" by having all in Nazarick taking a picture of it to celebrate. Demiurge though is concerned, as since they were chosen to collaborate on this anniversary project perhaps it would be best to do a theme that brings out all their characteristics. Ainz asks how they could do that with one image? Demiurge suggests that they divide the image panel into four parts and make it into manga format. Albedo guesses why they were selected to commemorate the anniversary because their continuum is like a shared world of Overlord. It's flexible enough to provide a position that is different from the main story and thus a certain amount of discretion is allowed. The category of being a gag space annoys Albedo but Ainz asks how they should do the commemoration. An idea comes to mid to do a set of two images that look three-dimensional when viewed from a cross-eyed perspective. The idea is original and a novelty and Demiurge and Albedo are interested, but Ainz is more reserved.

To change the flow of the dialogue, and to avoid an embarrassing scandal, Ainz rebukes that while the idea is interesting he feels that the image they choose is not important. The two Floor Guardians are shocked this. Ainz explains that this is a commemoration and although it may not meet the expectations of the other party they should pay homage to the successful 2nd anniversary of KADOKAWA and celebrate with passion. Demiurge still asks how they can express their respect and congrats through a single image? Albedo has an idea and after conferring with the other two members in the room the three come to an agreement. Each member in the picture will wear an outfit from Obamas. Though at the last minute Albedo calls out wearing the idol outfit for herself, which Ainz calls an blatant use of self-interest.

Later Ainz and Albedo, wearing robes are addressing the rest of the Floor Guardians to dress on stage in their chosen costumes. Though a few like Cocytus wear costumes that were already available to them. For example his God Slaying Emperor Blade and multiple gold adornments. The Pleiades change into their Yukatas. They take particular note of Lupusregina Beta's happi coat and note that it was used in a summer event in Obamas. Albedo assumes that the event was some kind of live idol festival involving the Pleiades in the game. The only maid not wearing a yukata is Narberal Gamma who instead is wearing a Christmas Costume to match with Hamsuke. The group deduce that the costumes are from another in-game event specifically a winter one where Narberal and Hamsuke game avatars perform solo idoling team like "Kuromusume". The hamster's role in the game is noted to be substantial as her image is played when the game loads as was predicted previously.

While urging Aura Bella Fiora to change, the Overseer Guradian informs everyone that a representative from Obamas will be coming to prepare the photo shoot. The representative is named Slimeko and according to Albedo is a slime that was summoned by Ainz in Obamas. Ainz realizes that the representative is a monster summon. Even so he encourages his subordinates to show respect to their Obamas colleague. More information on Slimeko is revealed as being in charge of the information channel outside the game and the face of a virtual YouTuber.

Aura and her brother Mare Bello Fiore reveal their costumes. Aura is dressed as a count while Mare wears a little girl costume from a Halloween event from Obamas. Albedo muses that the twins in the game must have been popular as twin idols are rare. The next pair to step out of the changing rooms are Sebas Tian and Demiurge. The two are both wearing Chivalrous Costumes and they are equally annoyed that the other wore the apparel. Albedo looking over a information sheet reveals that the costumes were involved in a cherry blossoming event.

Shalltear Bloodfallen calls from the changing room on the diverse costumes associated with the many in-game events, as she finally reveals her selected outfit a wedding dress. However to her shock Albedo as selected the same theme when she shows off her costume. The Overseer Guardian tries to demote Shalltear as a bride attendant, as her dress is red and not white like a bride's. Shalltear defends her choice of the color red to reflect her as a vampire and that it complements Ainz's image. Whilst the two women bicker on who is best suited to be the bride of Ainz, the latter disrobes and shows off his costume which turns out to be a swimsuit shorts and open T-shirt. The reveal is enough to melt the bitterness of the two women to tears at the sight. Lumière announces the arrival of the envoy from Obamas. Slimeko enters the rooms and receives a warm welcome from Ainz. Slimeko is briefly moved on how much Ainz resembles her master Momon. Aura is curious that Ainz is called differently in Obamas which Albedo postulates that the Ainz is Obamas switches between names in the idol training game. To start Slimeko asks all the participants to take a picture in front of a blank wall so they cane begin. To assist Ainz recommends that the use a consumable camera item from the Treasury. The camera is not necessary as Slimeko is borrowing one from the company. Ainz dumbfounded and asks why KADOKAWA could not have used a [Gate] to come to take the picture themselves. Some of the other members in the room comment Slimeko's task may have been trivial for the company.

More people come such as Pandora's Actor, Victim, Kyouhukou and Neuronist Painkill who arrive for the photo shoot. Their participation is questioned by Demiurge and Albedo since the group lack costumes from the in-game events. Pandora is horrified that he will be excluded and literally pleads with Ainz to be allowed to be part of the commemoration. The begging is enough to convince Ainz to allow the newcomers to join. Slimeko taking a test picture of Kyouhukou complains that his image in the current continuity is blurred. Eventually after some hassle and surprises, the anniversary picture is taken and Slimeko returns to KADOKAWA.

Afterwards Albedo states that though Obamas is a different medium from them, it's still a spin-off of the original work and thus is pleased to support it. Ainz who also enjoys the prospect of the idol training game Mass for the Dead, hopes that the game continues for a long time.
