Overlord: The Undead Oh! Chapter 27.2

Let's Go Out and Cast in the Brain (聞かせて脳内キャスティング) is the twenty-seventh chapter of the Overlord: The Undead Oh! series.

Summary[]

Peroroncino shows Momonga a video of him making Shalltear Bloodfallen dance and finally bow when Bukubukuchagama arrives. In Bukubukuchagama's opinion, she feels that Shalltear's data is way too detailed for an NPC that doesn't have a voice yet. Peroroncino is already aware of that and has already narrowed done a selection of three potential voice actors for his creation's voice. For Mare Bello Fiore and Aura Bella Fiora, Peroroncino asks his sister if she decided on their voices yet. She doesn't have any concrete plans, having only thought of giving them cute voices. Momonga is surprised given her profession as a voice actor, to which the slime points out that she excels in acting not writing the lines of what she says. Peroroncino is relieved as Mare has a good voice for him, so it would be difficult to determine his gender. Bukubukuchagama considers this as she doesn't want Mare to depict the wrong image. Another topic comes up on Mare's exact age to which she states it to be between seventy and eighty years old which is normal for an elf species.

The birdman suggests she changes his voice to be closer to a male's, and comments how voice actors for girls characters in anime are mistaken as girls, but in actuality male. Momonga urges that Mare having a male voice would add some realism, and the slime for the moment considers getting a male voice actor to fit Mare's voice. She also makes a promise to herself that if Nazarick ever get animated, she will be in charge of the voice cast especially Albedo's voice. Bukubukuchagama recommends that they make Victim their mascot and give it a cute girl voice, though Momonga states that the angel is only cute at a distance.

Years later, Ainz Ooal Gown is sitting in his office with Mare giving him a report. When Ainz asks if Mare's managed to change his voice yet, the elf is confused by Ainz's statement but hastily apologizes promising that his voice will change in thirty or twenty years. Good to hear that news, Ainz tells the elf not to rush in growing up, as Bukubukuchagama would have wanted him to keep his cute voice a little longer. In the end, it's revealed that the other Supreme Being decided to use a female voice actor to preserve the opportunities for women to be voice actors for boys.
