Myugi (ミューギ) was the mother of Rugi and one of the many mistresses of the Elf King Decem Hougan.
Appearance[]
Myugi was said to have a menacing appearance. She possess a store stare that contained strong emotions. Unlike many females that were cowed by the Elf King's anger, she could withstand it.
Personality[]
Myugi was shown to be a woman who cared deeply for her child, so much so that she was willing to risk the Elf King's displeasure and anger for her. However despite her inner strength, Myugi was shown to have lost the will to live after her own child was killed through the indirect actions of her liege.
Background[]
In a union with Decem Hougan, Myugi gave birth to a girl who was named Rugi.
Chronology[]
The Half Elf God-kin Arc[]
- Main article: The Half Elf God-kin Arc
Decem thinking that Rugi would get stronger if left on the battlefield took her from her mother and sent her to stop the advance of the Slane Theocracy that were advancing through the Great Forest of Evasha towards the elven capital. After Decem returned to the capital, he was approached by Myugi who asked where their daughter was. However the uncaring elf did not even know who she was talking about and only momentarily realized she was talking about the girl that had been killed after he retrieved his bow. Upon seeing the bow in his hand, Myugi came to the conclusion that she was dead. The king showed no remorse or sensitivity to the mother's loss and only ordered her to report to his bedchambers so that he can give her another chance to give him a better child. Myugi never came as it was reported by a servant that she chose to commit suicide by jumping from a balcony in the castle.[1]
Abilities and Powers[]
According to Decem she was a strong female, though was weaker compared to her daughter.
Relationships[]
Decem Hougan[]
Decem only saw her as a disposable womb to produce strong children. However Myugi did surprise him when she did not pale before him and even he directed a gaze of hostility or the intent to kill. Though that was it, Decem was blind to her emotions and plight of having lost her child. Instead, Decem was disappointed and infuriated due to his narcisstic self-absorbed personality, having had another “failure” of one of his children being unable to meet his expectations. Due to Rugi's failure, he believed himself to be a victim and offered Myugi another chance by making another child together in bed. Her death surprised him, in that she died from falling from a low height. Deceme still was incapable of seeing that he callousness drove her to her death, initially thinking that it was a murder by someone else, until finally coming to a deluded conclusion that she killed herself as a way to apologize to him for giving birth to a failure and decided to forgive her and ordered his subordinate to give her a proper burial as it was his duty.
Rugi[]
Unlike her father, Myugi truly loved her child and was concerned for her well-being. After Decem insensitively informed her of Rugi’s death and ordered her to “make it up to him” and get ready to produce him another child to replace her daughter, Myugi chose to commit suicide.
Trivia[]
- Decem believed that the reason why Myugi was able to withstand his aura was due to him being tired, though due to his arrogance and narcissistic behavior its more likely that Myugi's was a stronger character than he estimated or that her love for her child overrode her fear of him.
