Moon (月) refers to the celestial satellite that orbits the New World.

Overview[]

The moon was the closest natural body that could be seen in the sky. During the night it is the main source of natural light, along with starlight, that illuminates the land in the New World.[1][2][3][4][5][6] Though the sky was the only place that was lit by the gentle light of the moon.[7]

The light from the moon was stronger, in contrast to lantern light which created more shadows.[8] The only hinderance to moonlight was cloud coverage.[9][10]

However moonlight could also be disadvantageous as a full moon could make people in the grasslands visible targets.[11] Because of this, the darkness of the night and moonlight were allies to demi-humans who normally preyed on humans on the plains.[12]
