Momonga's Party is the term referring to a group of party members assigned by Ainz Ooal Gown's guild strategist, Punitto Moe prior to tackling the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
Background
To prepare for the invasion of Nazarick in their first attempt, Punitto Moe discussed a matter of personnel assignment with the newly-founded guild of Ainz Ooal Gown. He decided to arrange guild members of Ainz Ooal Gown into five different parties each with six roles respectively. Hence, this explains how the formation of Momonga's Party came about before they and other parties head out to conquer Nazarick. They encounter the raid boss, Asura and later managed to defeat it and his minions like the Primal Elementals through great difficulty.[1]
Strength
According to Momonga, this team is made up of members who were fully optimized for their role. Despite it being a party full of specialists, Punitto Moe knew the group would fall apart quickly if things go bad. Hence, Punitto included Momonga into the group due to his flexibility, considering him to be the perfect candidate who can successfully adapt to any kinds of situations with the party members he worked with. For instance, Nishikienrai who was given the position of Seeker is more fitting of an Attacker role, so having Momonga in the party is also to help him with reconnaissance.

Bukubukuchagama noted attackers like Ulbert and Takemikazuchi are tasked with mainly damaging the boss. Meanwhile, she the tank is given the job of controlling hate/aggro and bears the boss’ attacks. Not only that, but the healer Yamaiko has to heal the group’s wounds. For Momonga, he is the wildcard who must cast buffs and debuffs to guide the flow of the battle. In terms of magical damage dealing, defense, physical damage dealing, healing and support, Bukubukuchagama noted Momonga's Party probably composed of the most specialized members of Ainz Ooal Gown.
Trivia
- Punitto Moe believes that this team is the best party because Momonga is in it.
- Momonga estimated that his party consists of more than half of his guild members who could clear a normal dungeon easily.
- Momonga's Party was the only known YGGDRASIL team in the Overlord series out there to use Cash Items in a dungeon.
