Maze of Death is an underground labyrinth that protects the dwarven capital of Feo Berkana.

Background[]

The Maze of Death is a long, twisting and branching series of caves. This is the final trial of the Trials to Feo Berkana. It is a cave with countless branches, filled with poisonous vapors. If one inhales those vapors, their limbs will be paralyzed and their hearts will stop beating.

During their travel to the Royal Capital, Ainz's group had to cross the Maze of Death as the final trial to reach the old capital of the Dwarves.[1] As the party reach the end of the maze and get nearer to the Quagoa group that they were pursuing, they found the corpses of some Quagoa that couldn't cross in time before the gases filled the caverns.[2]

Layout[]

This area is filled with vents that spewed plumes of volcanic gases at fixed intervals, and there were places where the gases collected. In other words, it is a hellish zone of invisible, fatal poison, lashed by fierce winds. There are several routes which led to the exit, but there was the only one which did so and also avoided the gas. Even that route might end up being filled with gas if one did not traverse it quickly enough.

Trivia[]

  • Ainz's group were able to cross the maze easily thanks to his spell, "Bless of Titania" that led them across the safest path to the exit.
