Episode 1: A Decision is Made[]

At the 9th Floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, in the Round Table Room, Momonga received a [Message] from Lupusregina Beta. She reports to her master that the friendly exchange with the representatives of the Mercenary Knights was a success, and it appears that they have secured a means of communication for the future within the Baharuth Empire. Demiurge who is listening to Momonga relay this to the room, is glad things went according to plan. Albedo in regards to the visitors from another world, is more curious to know what they think about this interaction.

To elaborate more on what has happened, Lupusregina and CZ2128 Delta in their worker guises are in an office of the Grand Arena resume their report to their master. Lupusregina admits that she was concerned about the protagonist's attitude at the meeting with the sisters, but he didn't seem particularly inclined to be drawn to them in question, though she would have lived to have him point out any signs of this. As for Aggresiel and Billiophia, although there were sone suspicious points in their words and actions, Lupusregina did not sense any indication that they were seeking to cause them any harm, and neither any intention to provoke them. This matches the impressions of the Greater Doppelgänger's report Momonga received earlier. Momonga then asks if there is anything else the maid would like to report.

CZ has something new to inform Momonga, that she and Lupusregina have become fighters. Lupusregina explains that she and CZ substituted for the sisters in question as fighters in the Grand Arena. Additionally they received information that the promoter is collecting rare weapons and armor, so they may be able to report on that as well at some point.

Momonga can see that they made good use of an opportunity. Afterall the Empire currently relies on the maids' worker identities as an information source. So he is glad that they are handling things well in a situation with little support. He finds the information about rare items to be interesting and useful, but asks them to prioritize their safety and stable intelligence activities under their undercover identities. Lupusregina promises to continue their intelligence gathering while keeping their covert appearances strong. After that she ends the [Message], delighted that Momonga praised her and CZ. CZ suggests that they keep up the good work, and also thanks the Shadow Demon keeping an eye on them, which briefly appears from the shadows.

Back at the Round Table Room, Momonga muses that regarding the sisters in question, although their words and actions are suspicious, there is no indication of any intent to provoke or cause harm to Nazarick. So the current account is roughly consistent with Albedo's previous report. Albedo questions about Lupusregina's mention of rare items. To which Momonga explains that Lupusregina and CZ gained connections with the Grand Arena as replacements for Aggresiel and her sister who became fighters. And that it appears the promoter is collecting rare weapons and armor. Demiurge thinks that's interesting, noting that besides the items, the arena will be a gathering place for the most skilled players in the world. Albedo recalls the boast Emperor Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix made of it being a splendid arena for humans. And tells her master Momonga that if all goes well, they may also get some new information about the local Martial Arts. Because Nazarick prioritized measures against the Cracks and Chaos Beasts, research into Martial Arts and Talents have been put on the back burner. But Momonga hopes that there will soon be progress in those areas.

According to a report received from a Greater Doppelgänger from the Great Forest of Tob, the sisters in question will be entering E-Rantel along with the protagonist and Shalltear. The priority now should be the Mimics and visitors from other worlds. Albedo is a little concerned that this plan was proposed was proposed by Aggresiel, and to be set in the fortress city, which is the protagonist's territory.

Currently, there are two possible threats, the sisters and the Mimics. E-Rantel for now is a convenient location to be able to keep an eye on both of them at the same time. To Momonga it all depends on the results of their monitoring, but if there are no particular issues, then the Sorcerer Kingdom will proceed with their approach. Thus he asks Demiurge on his side project. According to the 7th Floor Guardian, in regard to the improvement of the equipment necessary for activities in the space which the sisters call the Womb Corridor, the protagonist and the Pleiades have been making progress.

In his humble opinion, the protagonist's true value of his Divine Right lies not in the attacks that overwhelmed Enhela Read Gahi, but in the homunculus' high level of understanding and mastery of things that come from the Sea of Possibilities. Or perhaps as Momonga's puts it, the protagonist's growth in ability is due to his interest in his origins and his intellectual curiosity. In a way Momonga feels the same, especially concerning adventures to unknown worlds, finding the idea exciting, even if he is not the one going out there himself. It does remind him of his time in YGGDRASIL when he played with his friends.

Back to the discussion, Momonga declares that it goes without saying that investigating the interior and exterior of the Crack will be an important stepping stone for the future development of their nation. Hence he wants everyone to approach this with that understanding in mind. Demiurge comprehends as in other words, it will also expose enemies in the current world who may have World Items.

Albedo agrees, recalling that Aggresiel and his sister didn't seem to know about World Items, but now that they are aware of their existence, the sisters could be used as spies. The Floor Guardians think this is all part of Momonga's devious plans, though to be honest he totally missed this piece of detail. He feels that this will be something that will cause problems later, but is hesitant to press the issue. To determine what the two think his plan is, he asks them to explain for the benefit of Fith, the maid who is attending him in the room. As for his reason of being informed, Momonga makes an excuse that general maids are also important members of Nazarick, so all information must be shared equally.

Fith doesn't feel worthy, for her inclusion to interrupt such an important matter that is beyond the scope of her understanding. Albedo though insists to better communicate with all levels in Nazarick. To which Demiurge agrees, as with the importance of reporting, communicating and consulting Momonga has repeatedly emphasized. Fith sees this as evidence of Momonga's kindness, wishing to die to apologize in face of his generosity and mercy.

Demiurge then explains to the maid that this regards to the sisters who came from another world. From their agents interactions in the Empire and Aggresiel's behavior in the Great Forest of Tob, it can be inferred that the world the sisters come from is similar to the current one. In that case, Nazarick intends to gather intelligence in that other world, and find out what information they want to know. For example who possesses World Items. Fith is amazed that this can really be found out. Albedo claims it to be so, as their agents were allowed to tell Aggresiel and her sister about the contents of the World Items in order to pique their interest and encourage them to investigate on their own. This is all attribute to Momonga's alleged foresight leaving Fith in awe of her master's genius.

Momonga takes credit for this, seeing that is what Demiurge and Albedo thought his plan was. But finds the idea sound, as even if there are some differences between world, it's certainly beneficial to be able to try out different things in a safe place. That way they can judge the differences to some extent from the sisters' actions. Bottom line it is an opportunity to experiment without endangering their stabilizing world, of course under the pretext of helping the sisters.

Elsewhere, Aggresiel, Billiophia, Shall, and the protagonist are on the road heading to E-Rantel. Billiophia is engaging in small chat, which Aggresiel jokes if her sister is spreading rumors about her. Shall asks questions like how the sisters contact their original world they came from. Adding that the sisters and the protagonist seem to be aware of each other's presence. The protagonist is particularly interested on these matters as well. Such as if [Message] is effective in other worlds.

Billiophia replies that is impossible. But if they were in the same world, their sisters could at least sense each other's presence. The protagonist asks if this sense is similar to how he was able to sense them, which Billiophia confirms unless the person is aware of the other's existence, which is regarded the norm for the sisters. Aggresiel explains that she and her sisters have been on their own for a long time, but is sure they'll do just fine without her having to tell them what to do.

After getting off the peryton and walking for a bit the leader of the Mercenary Knights is looking forward to seeing E-Rantel. They soon come to the hilltop to take in the view of the fortress city. Inside the sisters spot a goblin, Jugem, walking the streets with Brain Unglaus and an old human woman, marveling on how the city is a place where humans and demi-humans coexist. Not only that Billiophia sees that there are patrols of soldiers from the Re-Estize Kingdom and knights from the Baharuth Empire lined up side by side. Aggresiel who had prior information of what was in the city, still finds it overwhelming to see it with her own eyes, and maybe thinks this is the view she should aim for.

Still Billiophia finds it unsettling to have signs of the Cracks everywhere. As while she is used to going through them, the monsters...the Chaos Beasts are a pain to deal with. Thus having an entrance into a living space is a bit worrisome. The protagonist then decides to show them the city's security at one of the Cracks which is guarded by Skeleton Warriors. Seeing the undead standing guard at the anomaly surprises the sisters. To give them context, the protagonist explains that the Sorcerer Kingdom is cooperating with the management of these Cracks so they have installed in place a foolproof system.

At that moment Peter Mauk waves in greeting to the protagonist, who as the protagonist explains is part of the security who are pulled from representative from each country. Peter coming closer sees that Shall is among the Territory Guardian's companions and welcomes her back to the city. Shall greets her fellow adventurer before asking if the rest of the Swords of Darkness are on guard at the Crack. Peter states that Nimble Arc Dale Anoch is present with two of his knights.

The protagonist now sees that the security is a mixed force. That's what Peter wishes to speak about with the Territory Guardian, Shall and the others if permitted. The protagonist states it is alright as he has already told them about the Mimics when he asked them about any sightings during their training journey.

Doppel-Slimeko watching silently praises the homunculus in using the cover prepared by Shalltear, allowing him to quickly put together a natural setting and carry out the conversation. Though at the same time finds her ashamed that it would be impossible for her to do the same, as she is not like the real Slimeko.

The protagonist then goes to introduce the new visitors to E-Rantel, two women who met while training with Shall, her rivals. Just like Ku, who Shall once trained with, these two are in a similar situation to me... and we have become close friends.

Lukrut coming and seeing Aggresiel and Billiophia greeted by the two women, introducing themselves as mercenaries in training. And that they come to E-Rantel to see for themselves whether or not the greatness of city that Shall has spoken of is true and looks forward to working with all of them.

Peter then likewise introduces his team of the Swords of Darkness. Lukrut wastes no time greeting the women, surprises that they are Shall's rivals, but notes that they have a similar, somewhat noble air about them. Ninya cuts on to apologizes for her comrade's rude forcefulness, but is glad to hear that the pair have come to see the greatness of E-Rantel. In that case Dyne states that the fact that they are all gathered together is a good thing.

Peter elaborates that it relates to the "disaster" that caused the Crack to occur. At that time, all of the Swords of Darkness except for Ninya were absorbed into Crack. Lukrut adds that's where the Sorcerer Kingdom's special equipment comes in. Aggresiel is familiar with the equipment, the Chaos Adaptive Equipment. Lukrut seeing that he doesn't have to explain too much then tells the sisters that is why volunteers from E-Rantel came to the Crack to help the adventurers, wearing it regardless of the danger.

Dyne adds Ninya also worked hard during that time. Ninya merely states that she was just trying her best, but is sure that's the case for people in any country. The magic caster continues saying that the Kingdom, the Empire, the Theocracy, and the Sorcerer Kingdom joined forces in a successful rescue operation, and were able to save everyone. Only E-Rantel could do something like this, that is what Ninya is sure of.

Peter states that they have started the patrol and are willing to do whatever they can to help. Billiophia asks if the silver-ranked adventurer plate is a reflection of that intention? Aggresiel agrees that they all seem to be very skilled, but thinks maybe they deserve a higher rank. Lukrut finds that's a nice thing to say. But guesses this work is just a way of giving back, even if it's just a little bit. There is a chronic shortage of adventurers, mentioned by Peter, so he's asked the guildmaster of the Adventurer's Guild to let them stay silver so that it will be easier for the townspeople to request jobs for adventurers.

Billiophia finds that admirable, as it avoids the burden of the request fee. Aggresiel agrees adding Shall would be proud of this sacrifice as it's a wonderful story, just like a fairy tale. From small matters to big ones...to the girl, E-Rantel as it is today is the result of people joining forces beyond their countries and positions. And it was only because of the Sorcerer Kingdom that made it possible.

To Ninya, she thinks that's where the protagonist's skill really shines. AS the homunculus accepts the praise. He notes that although it was a hastily put together cover, Aggresiel is handling the situation well. And that she seemed like a straightforward and honest person, but also appears to be able to use lies as an expedient. She and her sister hadn't behaved suspiciously up until this point...for the most part. They had checked the adventurer plates, but that was just to show off their keen observation skills though the protagonist wonders maybe they were just curious? He finds it okay as he is beginning to understand them a little better. But she can't blindly trust them, but he doesn't think he needs to be wary of the sisters' changing their minds

Aggresiel suddenly reacts in shock and goes on the defense, surprising Billiophia who quickly steps in front of her elder sister to calm her down. Shall asks what is wrong, as Leinas and Nigun approach. The two warriors greet the protagonist. The protagonist asks if the two are also on patrol. But before answering Nigun says a phrase, "The walls protect" to Peter who responds with "And the walls will come down." With their identities confirmed the priest and knight engage in a conversation with the Territory Guardian and his friends.

Nigun explains that he and Leinas came to inspect the location. Upon seeing Shall, the priest greets her and also the strangers in the group. Shall introduces Nigun to her acquaintances of hers that she befriended while out training. Nigun receives a belated greeting from Billiophia. Nigun acknowledges her before heading off to check on Nimble, leaving Leinas behind.

Leinas bids her colleague goodbye. The Lukrut suggests that Swords of Darkness also decide to depart soon to move to the next Crack. Ninya agrees as if they arrive late, the troops ahead will become suspicious. Peter then has his team meet up with Nimble before moving on.

Leinas asks the protagonist what his plans are for the rest of the day, as if he doesn't mind, she'd love to hear about what's he's been up to lately. The protagonist though noted the strange behavior of both Aggresiel and Billiophia just moments ago. This needing to be investigated, the homunculus declined Leinas' offer to catch up, claiming he had plans, but promising that they will talk later. The group the leave Leinas behind, but not before Shall bids her farewell.

As for Leinas, the knight finds the new strangers to be oddly familiar. So far she only heard they're acquaintances of Shall's, but chalks her feelings to thinking how small the world is. On such encounters the knight is sure that increasing the number of connections with people is one of the great achievements of the Sorcerer Kingdom, leaving her admire the protagonist.

Elsewhere in town, Shall questions Aggresiel and why the murderous intent she directed at Nigun. Billiophia even chides her sister for being careless. The leader of the Mercenary Knights, admitted that she nearly messed up, despite knowing knew there was someone from the Theocracy beforehand, but she never imagined it was him. And as a result she ended up showing her shameless side which she deeply regrets.

Even so, Aggresiel obviously has something against Nigun. On this note, the protagonist wonders if she knows him, and considers maybe he should give her some information to shake the mercenary up. He then tells a little about Nigun of the Slane Theocracy, the Captain of the Sunlight Scripture. And that before the Sorcerer Kingdom got involved they were and are still the backbone of E-Rantel's defenses.

Billiophia finds the name of Nigun's unit curious having not known that piece of information. Shall mentions that the sisters seem to have a history with Nigun. Billiophia won't say what this connection is but promises the outburst that Aggresiel did will not happen again. Aggresiel swears t will be fine as line as she knows Nigun is around. Adding that even if it is a mortal enemy, she values dialogue. As she said this, gazed in the direction of the Nigun of the Sunlight Scripture, her eyes calm and cool, but—this is not lost to the protagonist and his compatriots, who could sense the clear hatred in that "presence."

Episode 2: People to Meet, Places to Visit[]

At the Adventurer's Guild, Guildmaster Pluton Ainzach greets Shall's rivals that he heard so much about. In the guildmaster's office the protagonist and his group are introducing Aggresiel and Billiophia. To explain their visit Shall tells Ainzach that after encountering Aggresiel during my travels, when she told her about E-Rantel, she said she wanted to see it, so the adventurer is showing her around. Aggresiel greets the veteran adventurer, and introduces her younger sister, Billiophia, who like Shall is still in training and also imitating the skills of a warrior in the Empire.

Regarding the two, the protagonist adds to the guildmaster that they have received a lot of cooperation. From this Ainzach interprets that the sisters are also guests of the Sorcerer Kingdom and so would be very happy to make new acquaintances from a foreign country. However he expresses surprise that Shall has become a warrior in the Empire. Shall clarifies that she has not, as she owes a lot to E-Rantel. If she were to settle down, she'd like to do it with the city's Adventurer's Guild.

Ainzach chuckles and apologizes for doubting her. Aggresiel assures the guildmaster that Shall has not changed her mind on the city, claiming she is always reminding her of the greatness of E-Rantel. Adding that she is aware of the city's eventful history, of it being swarmed of Chaos Beasts, attacked by the terrifying Demon Emperor and in the midst of numerous crises, this city has supported each other across the boundaries of nation and race, and each time has achieved more than just restoration.

Aggresiel has also heard that the Sorcerer Kingdom's assistance has been a major factor in the success of the reconstruction, and that the Adventurer's Guild is the one the Sorcerer Kingdom trusts the most, and is responsible for boosting the morale and keeping the people safe. All this praise leaves Ainzach speechless. Shall assures her rival that she was never lying, but Aggresiel assures her comrade she always trusted her, but...she is right and that she would like to understand her better in the future.

Once again, asks the guildmaster to please take good care of her and Billiophia. From Ainzach's impression Aggresiel looks frightening at first glance, but finds her quite an intelligent girl. And having heard she is also a fighter in the Grand Arena, despite her small body, infers she must be really strong. Even as a former adventurer, he can see that the sisters are skilled warriors. Above all, they are people that Shall has acknowledged, and the protagonist also has trust in them, and comments on how big the world is.

Aggresiel gets defensive when Ainzach studies her armor, as if he thinks double checking it as a sign of adulthood, finding her kind of adorable. When the protagonist mentions this to the guildmaster of him looking oddly at the equipment, the old adventurer apologizes as he was just curious.

To tell the truth, the protagonist tells Ainzach that the equipment incorporates the functionality of a new type of Chaos Adaptive Equipment that is currently being experimented with in the Sorcerer Kingdom. He was able to take advantage of the special shape of Aggresiel equipment and disguise it. Ainzach asks why would you do something like that, but then sees that it's due to the difficulty in asking other countries for cooperation in the experiment. After all the Chaos Adaptative Equipment is lent to all allied nations fairly, so even if it was just an experiment, lending it to only some nations would cause some friction.

Shall thus explains that is why the protagonist come to her and her rivals, outsiders, to ask for their cooperation in an experiment, including the possibility of defeating the Mimics. Seeing that the protagonist shared the sensitive information of the Mimics to the adventurer and her rivals, Ainzach assumes Shall has her own set of Chaos Adaptive Equipment. This is deemed to be so by Shall, and that the equipment has been made inconspicuous that others would not be able to tell by looking, so they are currently conducting tests to wear it in peacetime.

A voice then rings out asking is this was what was being kept secret. The new voice brings Billiophia alert. And Soi and Surako appear in the room. Surako explains that she was showing Soi around at the guild. But it is Soi who apologizes as she didn't want to interrupt the conversation so she ended up eavesdropping, but agrees to keep it a secret. Aggresiel asks Shall who Soi is, to which Shall explains that she is Soi, an adventurer, who often acts together with the protagonist and that her strength in on an adamantite level. Since Soi is one of the leading adventurers she tells the woman it is an honor to meet her. After greeting Aggresiel, Soi has a word with the protagonist. While understanding that the Chaos Adaptive Equipment a kept secret from the outside world, but since he is testing the equipment she asks if the Sorcerer Kingdom could be in a situation where they're stepping up vigilance against "Mimics"?

Ainzach was wondering about that too and asks if he and his team are all planning to dive into the Crack. For now, the protagonist is just going to check if there's any problem with wearing it in the Crack. If he goes inside the Crack, it won't be secret. When he says "for now", Soi asks if he means, it depends...or rather, it depends on the "Mimics". This is affirmed by the protagonist, as if a Mimic were to appear, they would be able to track it down...so think of the work with the equipment as preparation.

Ainzach understands, vouching to speak up if the experiment causes any trouble with their allies. The protagonist thanks the guildmaster, also informs him that he plans to guide his guests around E-Rantel while checking how their equipment is fitting. Soi can understand that so she'll accompany him. To provide information on the specific security measures and unit allocation on the tour of the city. This is accepted by the protagonist as it would be better if they could work together with the patrolmen.

Speaking of cooperation, Shall mentions seeing Peter and Nimble patrolling together on the way. And asks if that also a measure against "Mimics"? As it's unclear how easily it would be possible to distinguish between "Mimics", Ainzach explains that to determine the authenticity, it would be better to have people from multiple countries and positions involved. Spi then sees that this means that in the unlikely event of a friendly fire situation, there is a higher chance of being able to act quickly.

Soi then asks if Peter's group was just the starting point, which is confirmed by Ainzach as the plan is to patrol the main Cracks from there. The arriving troops will confirm each other's identity with the local troops using a password. If there are no abnormalities, the local troops will move on to the next crack. From this, Shall sees that's why Nigun and Peter were talking about.

Billiophia remembers their phrases of——-"The walls will protect" and "And the walls will be torn down." Soi can see that the passwords are an effective countermeasure against the Mimics, having heard that they can only speak certain words. Aggresiel has some input, recalling that the passwords were used where Peter and his friends were - stationed, though asks why did someone from Theocracy come there. Soi assumes that if Peter and the others had gone first, the security at that location would have been thin, so the plan was to send additional troops there first.

So, if there are five locations to patrol, that means six units are actually participating as Aggresiel sees. In other words, from what Billiophia can determine only one unit is always on the move, making it better suited to a protracted battle than a large group patrolling all at once.

In addition, Ainzach reports that only a few people have been informed about the Mimics at the moment. Because if they spread unreliable information about the existence of "enemies disguised as humans," it could lead to suspicion. The protagonist hopes it will be enough to avoid any awkward situations.

The protagonist and his friends then leave the guild, and by then Soi notices that the sun has completely set. Billiophia apologizes as Aggresiel got carried away and started talking in the discussion. In her older sister's defense, Aggresiel points out that Billiophia was also engrossed in looking at the various items made in the Sorcerer Kingdom that were being sold at the reception desk. Billiophia protested at it can't be helped as the products were all great. Shall proudly states that whether it was chocolate sweets or adventurer goods, they were both rare and one-of-a-kind items, before inquiring the protagonist on what their next move is. As the protagonist told the guildmaster, he will start showing the sisters around the various places and keeping an eye out for Cracks from tomorrow, and tonight they will have a social gathering.

They are taken to the mansion of the protagonist, and shown into a room. Aggresiel comments on the luxury, which Shall explains that the protagonist holds the title of Territory Guardian of E-Ranel, so the privilege is only natural. And while the protagonist knows it's past his capacity, but since the mayor offered the residence to him, he felt bad about turning it down. Soi point out that thanks to the place, they can have a safe private conversation like this. Adding that it suits the sisters as don't need to worry about their undercover identities while they stay.

Billiophia hearing his muses Soi appears to be away of their identities. For that Aggresiel decides formal introductions are in order. She introduces herself as Aggresiel, a being related to YGGDRASIL and serves as a Mercenary Knight. Likewise, Billiophia gives her own introduction..

Soi curious asks why the sudden formality. And Billiophia tells her that the Mercenary Knights have been looking around at people who have been trapped in the Crack. Aggresiel can even say among them, those with strong magical powers made the biggest impression on her...and she remembers their appearances very well. Now understanding that they recognize her, decides to transform into her normal Pleiades appearance.

The sisters note the sudden change in appearance, with Billiophia realizing that Soi is a slime. Solution Epsilon formally introduces herself as a Pleiades maid of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. Aggresiel seeing that the maid was in disguse adds that she and her comrades in the Pleiades must be great at it. Solution comments that they already met Lupusregina and CZ and admits that like her sisters she is being careful on her identity. Shall explains that Solution is a veteran who infiltrated E-Rantel early on and used a false identity. Thanks to Solution being the protagonist's guide, he was able to penetrate smoothly and still receives a lot of help from her, which the slime blushes.

Aggresiel notes that blending in with humans, concealing their identity, and gaining status through military achievements, makes it a lot harder than on what Nazarick is capable than she imagined. Still Billiophia admires that courage. Although it is certainly difficult, Solution states it's not a pain as what they do will be useful to everyone in Nazarick. While she says this, the Pleiades wonders to herself if this is a reasonable statement. Still, it feels really strange as never thought that there would be someone outside who could reveal their false identities. And it certainly seems like it would be worth using them in the name of friendship. The fact that it's so mysterious makes it worth investigating.

Having said enough about her, Solution is very interested how E-Rantel compares to the E-Rantel in their world. In their E-Rantel, Billiophia states that preparations for war are underway. But notes that it will probably take a while, though. Solution asks more details on the alternate E-Rantel, preparing for war. She is answered by Billiophia who says that the inhabitants seem to be gathering people who clearly have no combat experience and training them. Well, that's all the woman can say as the Mercenary Knights didn't infiltrate and investigate like the Sorcerer Kingdom did, they were just pretending to be surveilling.

Shall thinks this means that the sisters don't have much interaction with humans. To which Billiophia states that to humans they are strange creatures and tend to loathe the sisters. And frankly Billiophia doesn't want to get too close. In any world she doesn't remember having a good encounter with them. Aggresiel thinks maybe things would have been different if Billiophia had been a little more charming.

Billiophia recalls that her sister was called "a devil impersonating an angel" by the Theocracy. For context, Aggresiel tells the rest that in the previous world, the Mercenary Knights once got into some trouble with the Theocracy. No matter how much stronger they are than humans, the power of numbers and organization is still very troublesome. This would explain to the protagonist on why the Nazarick agents saw her hatred towards Nigun earlier. But the quetsion beckons on the "previous world". Based on the information they provided, the protagonist sees that they need to be careful not to confuse that point.

However Aggresiel believe that her creator wanted her to be a knight who protects the people. Even if she was born in the Womb Corridor, Aggresiel wants to fulfill that will. To Billiophia it's difficult in many ways though, which her older sister agrees and that it's good that they and everyone else get along so well. Solution concludes that it seems like there are a lot of difficulties over there in the "previous world".

Shall has heard that other worlds are all similar, but it seems like the sisters relationships with humans are quite different. Billiophia says that the Floor Guardian is right, in fact, the worlds they've seen up until now have all had similar situations. To add context, Aggresiel says that the world they all live in is special. And asks the protagonist if he could tell them about your first contact with the local people. Like how were he was able to build a good relationship with them?

Billiophia is eager to know if he does not mind. That being said, the homunculus says that there was nothing special that happened. The Swords of Darkness - the group of adventurers they met earlier was his first contact with humans which began when he assisted them in battle. They told him that Carne Village was under attack by a group of monsters, and when they headed there they met a member of the Theocracy, the Sunlight Scripture, who was working hard to rescue the survivors of Carne Village.

Together, they cooperated and defeated the Chaos Beasts. Through their connections, they traveled to E-Rantel, a city of absolute defense where the Kingdom, the Empire, and Theocracy were united in an Alliance to revive humanity, and they felt there was room for them to intervene. They also defeated a Chaos Beast that even a gold-ranked adventurer couldn't handle. And from there the protagonist deems that it was good that Nazarick showed their worth to humans.

Aggresiel muses that it was indeed only possible if there is a common "threat" and thank the protagonist for talking to her. Billiophia comments that in other words, the existence of the "Chaos Beasts" - those monsters - became a common threat, and as a result, it became easier for humans to cooperate...the premise in this world is very different from the previous. But that's exactly why Aggresiel think there's a lot she and her sisters can learn from Nazarick. That includes the protagonist, Shalltear, Solution. And then, course Doppel Slimeko.

Aggresiel humbly would like to ask for their guidance and advice once again. And promises that the Mercenary Knights will do their best to ensure that this will be a fruitful exchange for all of them. Shall understands, and would like to hear more about their journey. To herself the Floor Guardian notes that Aggresiel has been reluctant to reveal much about Ainz Ooal Gown in the past, because she doesn't have much information about the guild, so the vampire won't touch on that topic.

Solution would like to hear it too as the night is still long. From the visitors from another world the slime would like to get as much information as she can out of them. After meeting them like this, she doesn't think there's any need to be overly cautious, but...can't quite trust them yet. Meanwhile the protagonist can sense the lack of hostility from them, but that doesn't mean the sisters don't have their own ulterior motives. Even if he can't pinpoint what they are in the conversation, he's sure he can see something. And is sure they feel the same way, and building a friendly relationship is a priority for the homunculus. Soon he'll be able to get a guide to the Corridor they call the garden and beyond - another world.

Certainly, there are probably many events that the protagonist and his comrades have never experienced before. To that Aggresiel since the social gathering is still going on, the mercenary knight is counting on the Billiophia to provide some topics. To which the younger sister offers their friends from Nazarick to hear stories about her sister's failures, much to Aggresiel's chagrin. Under the pretext of a social gathering as night fell, the "trivial conversation", which amounted to each group trying to gauge each other's intentions, continued until the sky over E-Rantel began to lighten.

Episode 3: Opportunistic Visitors[]

At the walls of E-Rantel, Aggresiel and Billiophia are given a view of the city, which they find to be impressive, by the protagonist and his team. As Aggresiel mentions that the city would be difficult to attack, the protagonist asks if it is not the same in her world. The girl states that the city is not that urgent at the moment, but...it's not impossible to be attacked.

Billiophia still finds it rather helpful to be able to look at the cityscape. From these few words the protagonist can deduce that the two sisters have already been to a few places...but it seems that this inspection is also a form of enemy reconnaissance in a way. So he wonders if the forces of Nazarick goes to their world, if it will be the same.

Soi then asks if the differences between worlds are really that small? Billiophia says that it depends on the case as there are many cases where it is quite different. However, if they know the cause, they can make an educated guess. To put it simply, by Aggresiel, it's like trying to guess the ingredients in a dish. Soi then assumes that it isn't that difficult.

Aggresiel confesses that it's not easy, but her she and sisters have seen many world……………including the cooked result. Shall inquired if that means that a "Mimic" dish was served this time? Aggresiel confirms that to be so, but she would like to taste the food first, before having the opportunity to help them all.

Billiophia adds that it probably won't come up that easily, though. Still...judging by the number of Cracks, E-Rantel is probably the easiest to find. Aggresiel comments that it's convenient for both patrolling and rushing to the scene. Then she asks where the protagonist will take her and Billiophia next.

The protagonist then suggests places that don't exist in their world. In response Aggresiel asks if there are really such places? This is confirmed by the protagonist, claiming it is just off the route of the Sunlight Scripture. The group the head to the fourth wall agricultural field. The sight surprises Billiophia as she did not expect the farmland inside the wall and that it doesn't look like a disaster area. It is explained to the sisters that the area is a "new section" located within an additional wall built on the outer side of E-Rantel, which was originally protected by three walls. The new wall was built with the support of the Sorcerer Kingdom.

Aggresiel hearing this can certainly agree that such as thing can exists only in the current world. Billiophia then points something in the distance that shocks Aggresiel. It turns out to be an ogre, the goblin Jugem and a man working side by side. Aggresiel at seeing humans working with other races. Billiophia muses that given the location, it's surprising, of course.

Aggresiel deems that her previous analogy was insufficient. That this world which she akin to a magnificent dish would not have been completed with just ingredients such as the "common threat of the Chaos Beasts" or the "support of the Sorcerer Kingdom." It is only thanks to chefs who can make the most of the ingredients...in other words, the excellent people of the Sorcerer Kingdom, such as the protagonist, that this miraculous scene could be created.

Shall is not sure if that analogy is valid, but she can understand what they're saying. On the other hand, Soi thinks this scene is a symbol of recovery for the people of the city. The party is then greeted by a voice, who Soi deduces to be the administrator of the fourth wall. Billiophia gives a look of silent shock upon seeing who it is. Saint Clementine and Nemu Emmot greet the party. Clementine and her young charge came over to see Shall, having heard that she was in the city and doing well.

Soi notes that the farm work looks like it's going well and s looking forward to harvest time. As Clementine thanks the adventurer, the two mercenaries are silent, still with looks of surprise. The protagonist observing this, wonders why are they so surprised when Nemu rushes to the Aggresiel and Billiophia and introduces herself. The sisters give a hesitant and somewhat nervous greeting to the human girl. Billiophia asks the girl how is she doing in the city.

Nemu responds by saying that everyone is so nice to her. She wants to know more about the sisters. To which Shall explains that they are Aggresiel and Billiophia, her two rivals she met during her travels. The sisters are then introduced to Clementine who is the person in charge of managing the new wall.

Aggresiel muses that Clementine is certainly someone worthy of being entrusted such a duty, with her duties, as there is something dignified about her...in that she has strength. Clementine claims its all thanks to the protagonist's guidance and the cooperation of the Sorcerer Kingdom, she's just only helping out a little bit. Aggressiel thinks the saint is being humble, from what she sees the fruits of the earth grow healthy, protected by a mighty wall, and the people and demi-humans who cherish them are encouraged by their work.

In a way, Billiophia  says that it's an eyesore and is envious on how nice it would be if things were like this back where they were. Hearing Shall smiles to her "rivals," telling them she wasn't bragging about E-Rantel a wonderful place. Aggresiel agrees its a truly wonderful sight, something they should strive for. Clementine is a little embarrassed to hear them say that, but thanks them as it's encouraging for her. Nemu is glad for Clementine and asks the saint to please come again during the harvest season as she is sure it will be even more wonderful and will cheer her up.

Later outside the Adventurer's Guild, the group arrive there. Soi asks the sisters if they really meant it when they said they really like E-Rantel? Aggresiel says that she is, having been moved by the city. However, she says that the true credit should go to the skill of the protagonist and everyone at the Sorcerer Kingdom, who have so beautifully transformed E-Rantel.

Alas, the protagonist says that there are many unexpected factors when dealing with humans...and not everything goes smoothly as expected. Soi attests to that as it certainly is a pain. Shall jokes that this is the first time she's hearing of this. Soi then changes the subject and asks the protagonist if they will show them 'that.' They then take the group to a Crack in the street guarded by Skeleton Warriors, and managed by Lakyus and Leinas. As they approach, Gagaran armed with her Warhammer halts them replying with a phrase of "The walls protect us". To which Soi answers with a second phrase of "And the walls will be torn down."

Having confirmed each other's identities, Gagaran permits them to pass. She notices that there are some unfamiliar faces, and guesses that are they guests from the Sorcerer Kingdom. Lakyus shouts to everyone that the Crack is activiate and to be ready. Gagaran prepares herself wondering if they will be facing the rumored Mimics.

The Crack glows, releasing a swarm of Chaos Beasts, which disappoints Gagaran as it's the usual ramble. The adventurers and associates quickly eliminate the Chaos Beasts. And after Lakyus inquires about the Crack, a quick check from Gagaran and Leinas and the Skelton warriors confirm that the anomaly is normal. Leinas muses that no Mimics appeared, which to Lakyus feels that it's better if they don't come out. Before she can discuss with her associates, applause is heard coming from the crowd of people who had observed the fight.

They laud the adventurers of Blue Roses and the knights of the Empire for their performance. While appreciative towards the praise, Lakyus asks the civilians to stay back from the Crack. Even so many, even young children bem with pride and adulation towards the warriors, confident that they will defeat the monsters that emerge from the Cracks in no time. The sites of the Cracks, while eerie, are seen as by civilians as places where they can see the brave performances of the skilled fighters from each country.

Aggresiel has to agree with the words of the fans of the defenders, complimenting on Lakyus' sword skills being magnificent as expected of the Kingdom's adamantite-rank adventurer. Billiophia looking at the closely realizes that Gagaran and Lakyus are from Blue Roses and even sees an Imperial Knight. Her older sister is aware of the latter, who is among those who is directly under His Majesty the Emperor, recalling Leinas even had a special seat in the Grand Arena. Surprisingly Billiophia comments that there's no sense of tension around them.

The protagonist adds that this is the part that is not going as expected. What is always a constant battle for them, Chaos Beasts, is becoming a daily occurrence for the locals.

Shall underscores that the security is incredibly strong. Which the protagonist attributes it as a result of further trials, the security system has now been perfected to the point where the undead from the Sorcerer Kingdom stationed on each line can easily eliminate normal Chaos Beasts. However, there is still the possibility of sudden dangers such as the outbreak of miasma, so they have issued notices to evacuate when the Crack occurs. To Soi it can't be helped, like this time, when famous adventurers are helping with security.

People gather to see that heroic sight as far as Aggresiel can see so it would be rude to stop them. When the adventurers and knight are finally free from the townspeople, group then moves forward to greet them properly. The protagonist thanks Lakyus for her hard work. Now that she has some time to talk, the adamantite asks he Territory Guardian on who the two sisters are. But seeing Shall present, the leader of Blue Roses surmises that they are acquaintances of hers she met during training. Aggresiel commends the renowned leader of the Blue Roses for her insight in guessing correctly. The Mercenary Knight leader then introduces herself as Aggresiel and her younger sister, Billiophia. And that during their training, they met Shall who also introduced them to the protagonist.

Lakyus introduces herself and Gagaran being members of Blue Roses. Gagaran is glad to meet them, as strong people are always welcome, and if they are virgins even better. Her last words leave Aggresiel stuttering in confusion, as she goes into a defensive foot stance. This is commented by Gagaran that the girl move out naturally, adding she has good footwork and that she would be interested in match sometime soon.

Leinas comes over to introduce herself and explains that she is an Imperial Knight. Leinas recognizes he pair also from being in the Grand Arena, with Aggresiel mentioning she has seen her as a guard for the Emperor. The knight goes on to say that she appreciates their contribution to boosting the morale of the imperial subjects. Aggresiel is glad she could be of help. But tells the knight to not sell herself sort, as she and her comrades did a great job defeating the Chaos Beasts, that their teamwork was also amazing.

Billiophia states that of course people would gather here to watch. Lakyus agrees as it's good to see everyone's cheerful faces, but it's a problem if people become insensitive to danger. Though Gagaran thinks it's better than living in constant fear. Leinas contends that everybody knows on a daily basis how solid the Sorcerer Kingdom's security system is, so they can't just ignore it. But if they are having trouble, she suggests she can give them a strong warning.

For now the protagonist will accept their kind words. So he will have other guards take care of the residents as part of their regular duties. Shall lists the military forces part of these patrols from: Blue Roses, the Imperial Knights, the Sunlight Scriptures...to her it would be better for those famous people to continue working to boost morale. But does admit it would hard to predict how people's hearts will change, so she's a little shy on such things.

If it's for the sake of putting smiles on people's faces, Lakyus is willing to put up with it. As is Gagaran who tells the protagonist he need not worry. Leinas upholds that if they work hard to protect it...even if those Mimics appear, they'll be able to deal with it. On that note Shall muses that very reliable.

Though the protagonist thinks  that the lack of awareness of danger among the residents is due to the familiarity with the patrol's work. Although it may pose some safety issues, it does help to boost morale on the ground...as long as no damage occurs, that is. If the residents were in danger, everyone would sacrifice themselves to protect them. If the patrols use their heroic acts effectively, they can restore their sense of crisis and further strengthen security. To his comrades he merely says he is grateful and really counting on you all.

Episode 4: Signs[]

After showing Aggresiel and Billiophia the current state of the city, the protagonist and his group were showing them around the city's Sewage Treatment Plant as the final step of their tour of E-Rantel. Doppel-Slimeko accompanies the sisters to the central water tank, explaining that the Sanitary Slimes raised by humans purifies the wastewater.

Aggresiel is impressed by the system, having no idea something like the facility existed. The trio then head into the sewer tunnels. There Doppel-Slimeko tells them that the underground passages run throughout the entire city of E-Rantel. With adventurers sometimes using them to inspect the wastewater flowing through the gutters, but that they are not places that local residents can enter.

Billiophia suspects that due to being located throughout E-Rantel, the tunnels could also be used for crimes. That has happened a few times according to Doppel-Slimeko as Sanitary Slimes can multiply abnormally, so adventurers sometimes get requests to "thin them out".

While giving the two a tour, the Greater Doppelgänger wonders if she is doing okay as a guide, a role which she was suddenly asked by the protagonist to do. As for the others, she wonders when they will be back from the room in the plant.

At the hidden room located within the plant, Soi comments that the doppelgänger seems to be doing a good job as a guide. She then tells Shall and the protagonist she has completed counterintelligence measures for the room. Now free to speak without being eavesdropped, the homunculus would like to ask the two women both about anything they have noticed in terms of Aggresiel and Billiophia's reactions up until the present.

Curious at hearing this, Soi asks if the protagonist is not going back to the mansion? The homunculus confirms that is correct as no matter where in the city if something happens, it's convenient to rush over from there present location, so there's no need to turn people away.

Shall also adds that if necessary, she could have guided the sisters to a place like this., but reconsiders as maybe she's being a bit too trusting. Though the protagonist would be happy if she felt that way. In other words, as Soi deduces, the protagonist is aiming to do something by spreading information the sisters don't know. The slime maid admits that the sisters didn't seem to know much about E-Rantel. If their goal/intention was to investigate E-Rantel, then information about the city's structure would be extremely useful.

The protagonist thought that if they would make some kind of movement, show some kind of weakness, he and his allies might be able to understand what the sisters are thinking. Compared to important bases like the E-Rantel Magic Research Institute, there's no drawback to revealing the plant, and it's still not well known to the general public. So it's useful as bait according to Soi.

The sisters' intentions from Shall's point of view are rather full of weaknesses. To her it seems they were just showing their true selves at the social gathering. Soi agrees with the undercover Floor Guardian, the only thing Aggresiel showed was her hostility towards the Theocracy, but other than that the sisters was very natural. The interaction was not lost to the protagonist too. From the first time the sisters met, Aggresiel had shown some kind of grudge against members of the Theocracy. But the emotion she showed towards Nigun earlier was clearly "hatred."

This brings up a question by Shall. Are Aggresiel and Billiophia both different races? And suggests that perhaps they had opportunities to compete with the human-supremacist Theocracy. As for the rest, from what Soi can surmise, it seemed like they were just handing over information about the Kingdom's adventurers. Their interaction with Clementine was noted, but it was Nemu's that was interesting as the sisters had a clear reaction from the girl. This leads to suspicions that the sisters were involved in Carne Village in their world in someway.

A knock comes at the door, Doppel-Slimeko calling that Aggresiel asked for them. The undercover agents then headed out to meet the sisters in the tunnels. There is some confusion on why the sisters asked to meet them so suddenly. However the protagonist suddenly experiences feeling a "presence." This brings back a memory of when he spoke with Demiurge at the Crack in the Great Forest of Tob, telling him about his enhanced senses with the anomaly. He told Demiurge that he felt a hostile entity that his "senses" could not trust. From this Demiurge theorized that perhaps this enemy is of the same nature as the components in the Crack. The description intrigued him, and Demiurge asked if there was a next time, he'd like to see how it feels from the protagonist "senses" when the enemy from before has come into their world. This is just as Demiurge predicted and worries that this strange "presence" is what it is. Soi seeing him in distress asks what is wrong. Aggresiel tells her associates that she sensed something strange, so she called them quickly. And from Billiophia's assessment, the protagonist has also detected something amiss too. The protagonist urges that they need to leave the tunnel and takes them to underground passage that is the quickest way out. Without any hesitation, the group ran off in the same direction.

On the streets of E-Rantel, Leinas, Nigun and Peter are standing guard at a Crack. Seeing that it has not activated yet, Leinas worries something may be coming. Nigun tells everyone to stand in formation and prepare to fight. The protagonist soon come at the scene. Seeing Aggresiel, the Mercenary Knights leader makes a fuss that Nigun has joined up with them again. Leinas seeing the group asks if they have come to support them. Soi though tells then not to worry about that as the Crack begins to open.

Something comes out and Nigun makes it out as humanoids. But after the glow from the Crack subsides, four identical Niguns appear parroting the words "Sorry for interrupting." The real Nigun is shocked at the surreal display, clones of himself, exactly as he heard from the protagonist. Since they know who are the fakes and the real one being present, Leinas sees that there is no need to use passwords. Soi calls out more are coming, as the Crack releases Mimics of Leinas and Brian.

Leinas seeing the fakes of her is angered and decides to see how good the imitations are. Nigun holds her back, reminding her to maintain her composure. If she goes into battle with the Mimics of herself, then it will be difficult for those around her to provide support. Leinas apologizes and thanks the priest for the advice, agrees that she will deal with a different Mimic to play it safe. The Imperial Knight calls out to the Swords of Darkness if they are ready. Though the adventurers are ready, they still are fazed by the numbers and that they will soon be fighting beings with the faces they recognize.

The protagonist comments to himself that just like yesterday, Nigun and the others have joined the Sword of Darkness' position. However, there is more confusion than expected. Then he wonders that maybe the sinister "difference" he sees is something humans can't see, meaning fighting the Mimics will be more tricker.

Soi asks the homunculus on his orders. Shall wants to help, but if by any chance she ends up hurting someone, it'll be a problem so she's at a loss as to what to do. Just as expected the two women can't see the difference between the Mimics and the real people they are imitating. Aggresiel offers to step in, as she and Billiophia can see the difference. Seeing that the Mimics are approaching he grants the sisters permission to join the subjugation.

In the fight Aggresiel, showcase her fighting prowess, taking down various Mimics, much to Nigun's awe. When Aggresiel makes a comment of disgust to a Nigun Mimic, Billiophia clarifies her current comment is directed at the Mimics. After they defeated them all, with only Brain's Mimics giving them a bit of a hard time, Leinas comments that the sisters coordination with the Swords of Darkness was impressive.

Peter thanks the knight for the comment, admitting that the Mimics were troublesome opponents, having never imagined that they would resemble the real person so much. Niniya adds that if the danger wasn't communicated properly and thoroughly, there could have been friendly fire within the Alliance. Lukrut thinks it was lucky that the Mimics were using the appearance of a person on guard so he was able to identify it right away, but who knows what would have happened if that hadn't been the case. However to Dyne this proved that the mixed force strategy they had all devised was effective.

Peter agrees and is sure that if they can continue to cooperate and tackle issues beyond national boundaries they can overcome this new threat. Leinas adds that this is also possible thanks to the protagonist's early warning about "Mimics." Ninya also agrees, as thanks to the Territory Guardian's quick assistance in this sudden situation is a testament to their hopes!

Lukrut comments that Shall's skills were as sharp as ever. As well as her two rivals being really amazing too! Watching the fight reminded Leinas too, seeing Aggresiel and Billiophia were two of the most talented fighters at the Grand Arena so they are both highly regarded.

This leaves Lukrut and Dyne impressed by this. Faced with the praise the two Mercenary Knights feel embarrassed. Aggresiel can imagine an opportunity to cooperate with other people. Adding that perhaps this is the world that the Creator envisioned. When Nigun approaches, Aggresiel suddenly takes a defensive stance. But the priest wanting to meet Shall’s rival, impressed by her piece of armwork no, footwork. Giving thanks to her for her help.

Aggresiel is audibly shocked by this, that Billiophia has to cut in telling the priest not to come so close. NIgun apologizes before turning to speaking with Shall, finding that her rival is a bit difficult to deal with, and asks if she offended her in some way. The adventurer tells him not to worry, as strong people tend to be eccentric people.

Episode 5: Searching In The Crack[]

Mimics had appeared in E-Rantel and the information was quickly conveyed to Momonga. Momonga, along with Albedo and Demiurge, examining the information once again with the Overlord commenting that with the mimics appearing, humans are now aware of their threat. He then mentions who some of the mimics that appeared were Nigun of the Slane Theocracy, Brain of the Re-Eztize Kingdom, and Leinas of the Baharuth Empire.

Demiurge observes that mimics are taking the form of people from each camp, finding it a bit contrived. Albedo thinks it's a plot...at the very least, but it can't have been Agresiel and her group. It seems unlikely that they would set it in motion in E-Rantel, which is heavily protected by the Sorcerer Kingdom.

Momonga agrees as if the mimics were under the Mercenary Knights control in the first place, they would first have the mimics attack them, and then try to contact them under the pretext of providing assistance. That way they'll be able to see their plans and, best of all, make them feel indebted to them.

Albedo states that instead they suddenly showed up at her residence in E-Rantel, but she didn't think they were the kind of people who couldn't think of something clever. If that's the case, Demiurge supposes then if they were to plot, it would have to be on their own territory. On the bright side this was the perfect opportunity to see it.

Momonga deems that they keep an eye on them while preparing for any unforeseen circumstances. Aggresiel and Billiophia. Assuming that he will be interacting with them musing that this will be like a "credit check".

At the Crack in the middle of the street in E-Rantel, Nigun watches as the protagonist and his company are preparing to head into the anomaly. The priest is still concerned about the group going into the Crack. However it cannot be helped as in fact, separate from the current situation "mimics," the Sorcerer Kingdom is planning to test the improved Chaos Adaptative Equipment.

Soi explains that the equipment is currently being worn by her and the protagonist's guests. This new type of equipment actually being more plainclothes compared to the previous iterations. Leinas recalls that when moving around while wearing the adaptive equipment it's suppose to be quite heavy and difficult to move around in.

Billiophia though finds the equipment nothing to be of the sort. And Aggresiel adds that she even wore it while touring various parts of the city today and didn't experience any problems. Soi admits that the new version would be fine to have equipped all the time. Now the rest depends on how it performs in the Crack. The protagonist adds that the main improvements this time was to reduce the weight of the equipment and extend its operating time. And states that he wanted to pass said information to the allied nations about the experiment, but Nigun says that no excuses need to be made. Currently the nations' top priority is the security of E-Rantel, no matter what. For the protagonist, is a godsend.

The homunculus appreciates the priest's understanding. As Leinas understands, Chaos Adaptive Equipment is something unique to the Sorcerer Kingdom to begin with. The protagonist has been working hard every day to make it easier to use, so they have no complaints. And Nigun replies that it is in the interest of his allies to prioritize gathering intelligence on the Mimics. Thus they must act quickly. Nigun declares he and the others will remain outside the Crack and remain vigilant.

As for the Swords of Darkness they know their assigned task, which Peter states that they will report to the Adventurer's Guild and each of the Cracks in the city. Lukrut suggests that the team splits up to save time. Before he leaves Dyne tells his teammate to not forget the password, and Ninya wishes her teammates luck as they go their separate ways. Shall has be assigned to remain outside the Crack, finding it a pity she can't join the team inside the Crack. So she leaves her rivals safety, in the capable hands of Soi. Likewise the adventurer of Darkness asks Shall to keep an eye of Surako.

Aggresiel and Billiophia are ready to head out, as there's no need to worry about marching inside the Crack, especially with two adamantite-rank adventurers. The mission in the Crack then begins and the groups soon enter the space called the Sea of Possibilities also known as the Womb Corridor.

Soi sees that it quiet, and doesn't think there's any need to worry about being suddenly attacked by Mimics. However the protagonist gets a sudden reaction, turning around in the opposite direction. Soi is left confused but Aggresiel and Billiophia seem to also sense something suspicious in the direction the homunculus is looking at.

Since everyone else besides her is sensing something, Soi suggest that they go and have a look. The protagonist agrees as dallying any more would be bad. Soi at first thinks he is worried about the operational limits of their equipment but deduces that there is another reason. The homunculus expresses that he is concerned about the time they waste in this space. He remembered having wandered here in the Chaos Zone before and then returned to Nazarick——at that time, much time had passed than he had perceived. What he had thought was a few days in Nazarick felt like a few weeks.

The phenomenon is a mystery and so the protagonist asks Aggresiel if she knows anything. Aggresiel knows of it from experience. It is true that time and even space are not constant within the Corridor. Unfortunately, she cannot see it——-although Billiophia claims she can see where time flows fast and where it flows slowly. And so she will guide them so that they won't waste time.

In other words, if they lose Billiophia, they'll have to accept the loss of time. The protagonist sees that the sisters are deliberately telling them this is a weakness. Soi finds Billiophia's skill to be encouraging, looking forward to working with her. Aggresiel goes into an attack stance before hurrying away to Soi's confusion, but it turns out that the knight was seeking to destroy a few Chaos Beasts in the area. Seeing that they came from the direction where they are headed it seems that they are on the right track.

Soi and the protagonist then allow the sisters to act as their guides. Billiophia then leads then to scenes that seem oddly strange and familiar one scene being that of the lizardman village. Just as the sisters had described the Corridor as a garden, showcasing their many years of experience in traversing the realm, Soi and the protagonist followed them silently, impressed.

Another scene is that of a library in a palace. Soi studying her surroundings notes that the location changes without any context. The protagonist though feels that the "presence" from earlier seems to be getting stronger. As he gets closer, he realizes that this is not an Mimic, but something else. Aggresiel can sense it too, though she finds it familiar to her. When they arrive at the place, the knight declares this to be their destination. Billiophia comes over when they are interrupted by a Mimic of Nigun, parroting words of apologizing for interrupting.

It is destroyed with prejudice by Aggresiel, call the Mimic to be disgusting for taking the appearance of that vulgar from the Theocracy. Billiophia reminds her enraged sister that the man's name s Nigun. Soon five more Mimics in Nigun's image appear. Aggresiel is totally unnerved by the sight, demanding to know why the Corridor keeps spawning Mimics using Nigun's face. Rather than wonder about that Billiophia suggests to her elder sister that they prioritize clearing the monsters out first.

To Soi she notices that the Mimics appear to be coming from deeper inside. Aggresiel believes that where they are concentrated is probably their destination. Once they clean up the area, sweeping the area of any stragglers. Billiophia while finding the Mimics to be a nuisance, it made good practice for fighting the Theocracy.

Soi asks the protagonist on what he actually felt. The protagonist is not sure but feels that they are getting closer towards a room that manifested up head. The group enters what appears to be a training hall. The protagonist though pinpoints what he has been detecting, coming from the corner of the room. Based on the shape, the protagonist asks his partner if it looks familiar. Indeed it does, as Soi realizes its the same as the mysterious debris found in the Roble Holy Kingdom. While Nazarick does not know much about the debris, it is concluded and probably safe to assume that the debris is the "husk" of the Devourer of the Nine Worlds.

The protagonist had suspected that the bright light and the space were all related to Kuyō, but now he feels like it's closer to certainty. But it underlines that they are in its territory. The homunculus suspects that the Mimcs were probably generated from that husk. In other words, this whole commotion was the World Enemy's doing. At that moment, at the same time that the protagonist muttered "Kuyō," Aggresiel sighed and muttered that it had to do with "Mother" after all. Billiophia is also sure this is what the "Fetal Movement" was and guesses it's good that she was able to retrieve it.

Aggresiel tells her younger sister to begin the process right away as they must eliminate the nuisance. Soi thinking something is up, approaches them asking what they were on about with "Mother." The protagonist is more curious to know what exactly are they trying to do. Aggresiel tells the protagonist they are beginning the treatment prevent the spawning of Mimics. It should be possible with the "treatment" they normally take.

Billiophia states that especially for the protagonist, she thinks if he touches on this here it might cause some problems. Thus she asks him to leave it to them as it is for their safety. There is no hint of a lie from what the protagonist can see. Rather, he can see their impatience. It seems they also need to deal with this quickly. Even so the protagonist allows the women to proceed and to have Soi stand down, although the Pleaides will be closely monitoring the situation.

Aggresiel assures them it will be fine as she has performed the "treatment" itself many times, but this is the first time it's involved Mimics...so she'd like them to let her know if there are any changes. After confirming the protagonist's approval, Aggresiel slowly raised one leg, holding its at a posture she often showed when attacking, but—when she pulled the lever at the base of her leg armor, the toe part popped out and at the same time, opening up with force - transforming into three claws that resembling bird's feet. The knight boasts that this is her trump card -- no, her last leg, before having her leg go into drill mode.

The debris is shattered and soon enough there is something in the rumble. Billiophia has an attaché case ready to carry the object. Aggresiel has her leg turn into arm mode in order to grab the item in the rumble. The knight asks what the protagonist thinks of her legs.

The protagonist studies theleg armor commenting that the toes can alter themselves using a mechanism. To which Aggresiel elaborates that they can grab things and even swing weapons around. Billiophia comments that her sister's body, often has difficulty in standing tall a person she's with...so asks they please overlook some of the indecent behavior.

Aggresiel tells her not to say such unnecessary things. Back to the task at hand, Aggresiel direct her claw leg to the rumble to pick up a glowing purple crystal. Soi watching her work asks if everything is truly fine, which Aggresiel says everything is fine, thanks to her watching over her as nothing bad happened.

Billiophia tells their comrades to take a look, showing them what they have just collected and warns them not to touch it directly. Inside the case, there lies the crystal. Soi studying the item asks if it is some kind of mineral? It looks like some kind of crystal and has a similar atmosphere to Chaos Stone.

Aggresiel tells her and the protagonist it is called Remnant and is likely what gave birth to the Mimics. Billiophia then shuts the case, declaring that containment is complete. She asks the protagonist to confirm if he feels the presence anymore. To which the protagonist confirms that the unpleasant feeling has disappeared.

Soi notes that the women seem to be very efficient, like they know a lot of things that they don't know. So asks if they could explain to them. The protagonist makes a list like what is Remnant, the Womb Corridors, and Mother on what he would like to discuss.

Aggresiel answers that while she is sure their associates have many questions, she will answer them after they get back. Once they get out of the Womb Corridor, the Remnant will be safe, but she's not feeling too comfortable here in the Corridor. Billiophia then proceeds to show them the quickest way back.

Episode 6: Interests Brought By Irrationality[]

At sundown before the Crack in the streets, Billiophia, Aggresiel, Soi and the protagonist finally emerge. Doppel-Slimeko seeing them is glad that everyone's back!

Shall exclaims that it was pretty quick return. Though given that the sun has not yet set, the time that has passed is shorter than the time the group spent inside the Corridor, which iterates on the Chaos Zone being a place where time is not spent so quickly.

Leinas asks the protagonist if he is injured or anything? Soi assures the knight that everyone is still alive. Nigun too is glad that everyone is safe, remarking that the two aisters are truly worthy opponents of Shall. The sincere words of the priest confuse both Billiophia and Aggresiel, with the leader of the Mercenary Knights being conflicted.

Leinas asks how the protagonist's investigation into the Crack was, and if he found anything? The protagonist claims that the team were able to find the nest from which the Mimics were emerging and eradicated it. After that, Soi stated that they searched the surrounding area and confirmed that there were no other similar nests. But they should remain vigilant just in case, though the adventurer thinks the immediate danger has passed. To Leinas that is good news, though the idea of nests of Mimics sound pretty horrifying. Nigun agrees with her as he thinks it would be pretty scary to imagine a world filled with monsters that look like them.

Afterwards, on the pretext of letting everyone rest after defeating the Mimics, the protagonist separates from Nigun and Leinas's forces and returns to the mansion. There Shalltear is waiting in her usual getup once again, thanks the protagonist and Mercenary Knights for their hard work. Now, she asks if they can please tell her some stories about their trip.

The protagonist has some, but doesn't want to just talk about it and offers her to take a look. Shalltear hearing this inquires if they harvested something from the Crack. Before showing it, Soi asks the Mercenary Knights on if it was safe to take the mineral out of the Womb Corridor, and if there was any danger to summons.

Aggresiel then motions Billiophia to open the case, revealing the Remnant inside to Shalltear. Soi then asks Shalltear if she remembers the unidentified remains they discovered in the Holy Kingdom a while ago. The Floor Guardian does indeed recall something like a big bone or stone was found. Though asks what that has anything to do with what she is seeing. It is explained to her that there was something similar in the Crack - the Womb Corridor and this crystal was retrieved from it.

Shalltear is shocked, though is still confused as this was never in Demiurge's findings despite his research and studies. While it is probably best not to mention Demiurge's name, Shalltear allows the slip of the tongue, thinking maybe it would be better to say it and see the sisters reaction.

The discovery that the debris contains Remnant is a first time they have seen anything like this. Apparently the mineral would come out if the debris was crushed so the protagonist thinks it would not be strange if it had been discovered during the investigation at the time. Billiophia admits that it is a rare item, and it is not easy to find. It is also quite valuable, and asks that they please handle it with care before closing the case. Shalltear is far more interested to know besides being pretty what else does the mineral hold in value.

The protagonist and Soi decide to discuss this over tea. While everyone was carefully watching Agresiel, Billiophia, and the case of Remnant placed on the table, Aggresiel elegantly and hurriedly sipped her tea. And in tone that felt like an extension of everyday conversation, she began speaking about the properties of Remnant. That the crystal has the property of "responding to and materializing strong desires." In other words, it is an "item that grants wishes."

At the mention Soi of being able to grant wishes, the adventurer comments that the sisters seem to treat it as something dangerous. Aggresiel affirms that to be true. As it seems that some kind of energy in the Womb Corridor acts as a medium for this power. If she had touched it carelessly in that place, there was a risk that something unexpected would have been created. However, if Remnant is put outside the Womb Corridor like this, nothing will happen if one touches it. So it's safe for now.

Given that Remnant can grant wishes, Shalltear doesn't see how that is dangerous. It is explained by Aggresiel that from experience, unless the environment is very calm, it is easy for things to happen in a way that is slightly different from the person's intentions. To give an example, Billiophia says if one wishes for a shield that can withstand any attack, one will be granted a sturdy sheild. However, that shield will be abnormally think and heavy, making it impossible to carry. This happened to Aggresiel, who almost got crushed to death due to her wish.

Aggresiel admits it was her mistake. At the time, she thought, "It must be thick enough to withstand any attack, and it must be heavy enough." Such realistic thoughts crossed her mind.

In other words, as Billiophia puts it, if a person has distracting thoughts, they are more likely to make mistakes. If they are not a person who can calm their mind and control even their subconscious, they might be caught out by mistakes.

Aggresiel wouldn't recommend this to people who are unconsciously harboring destructive impulses or a desire for ruin. Shalltear now sees that the item is a troublesome thing. But she thinks it could be useful if one can use it well. If one can imagine it without any distractions, one can materialize anything, right?

Aggresiel states that with a yes. Her leg armor is one such example that was manifested by the Remnant. By clearly wishing for something, she can produce something that goes against the laws of the world; that is a convenient item called Remnant.

Billiophia underlines it to be a precious thing that not many of them have access to. So she always carry containment tools so she doesn’t miss the chance to get one. This makes sense to the protagonist as that's why they seemed so skilled at retrieving them. Still an item that materializes wishes...even if it only works within the Womb Corridor.

Speaking of which, the protagonist the opens the topic of when the Mimics emerged from the Remnants, and later Aggresiel and her sister immediately beginning work on collecting the mineral. It was because they had guessed that the Remnant were a phenomenon that embodied "someone's" wish.

Aggresiel states that they knew about the existence of Remnants, so we were able to predict what was happening in the Corridor early on. And Billiophia adds that even then they were t sure until they saw it with their own eyes in E-Rantel. But those Mimics, there was a clear trend of how they emerged. The root of it all was...a strong desire.

Shalltear then asking this is commonplace? The protagonist replies that the Mimics that appeared so far took the forms of Nigun, Leinas and Brain, humans who could be called heroes of Theocracy, the Empire, and the Kingdom. And there are those who seek them in the Womb Corridor. In other words, the thoughts of the many "humans" trapped within the Crack, seeking salvation, may have arisen from this, and the true identity of the Mimics may have emerged from that.

This brings to mind to the protagonist of a similar case that the homunculus knows of. Like Shiro, a being who manifested at the wish of unknown creators and attacked Nazarick at a specific time. Aggresiel says that the protagonist’s assessment is correct. Still, Billiophia reports that this is the first time they've seen a case where Remnant reacted without even being touched. Thus she wonders if it was a matter of numbers, or the level of urgency by the humans trapped in the Crack. Aggresiel feels that the Mimics abilities and actions were somewhat lacking as a heroes. Shalltear agrees musing that the Mimics could only copy the general appearance and some broken words. Soi thinks that if the thoughts of many people are at work, then perhaps the psychology of those who fear heroes, such as criminals, is also at work.

Aggresiel finds that I interesting. However at present, Billiophia underlines that they can only speculate on the conditions for this to occur. It seems like they now have a clear idea of what will be the basis for this kind of situation. It seems to the protagonist that they now have a clear idea of what their priorities should be. And in order to do that, there is one thing that needs to be corrected first. Aggresiel tells hem they can proceed however they want and that she'd be happy to discuss it much to her excite. Said excite is restrained by her sister asking her to be gentle.

At the Round Table Room, Momonga informs Albedo and Demiurge of having just received a report from Shalltear. In that it seems that the emergence of the Mimics is related to a mineral called Remnant. Demiurge asks if they were able to collect them in the Womb Corridor. And so Momonga relays that Shalltear said it was a useful item that materializes the wishes of whoever touches it. If that's true, Momonga would really like to get his hands on it. But ca doesn't seem like it would be easy to use, though.

And from what the protagonist and the sisters speculated that the Mimics were created when the desires of the humans trapped within reacted to the Remnant. If that's the case, Albedo surmises that it looks like they'll need to carry out two operations from now on: rescue the humans trapped in the Cracks and retrieve Remnant.

Momonga agrees, but determines that there are still many people trapped in the Crack. If Remnant is rare, it will be difficult to resolve the issue quickly. Above all, there are Aggresiel and her people. Albedo asks if there are any concerns on the sisters? If a Mimic were to appear in the other world, it would be the source of disaster for humans. It's only natural that they and Nazarick would cooperate. Momonga replies that the protagonist has decided that there are concerns that need to be addressed before they can look into the future of their relationship. It all depends on the answer.

For the mysterious visitors from another world, Aggresiel and Billiofia, Demiurge stresses tha the top priority that needs to be corrected at this time. Momonga knows what he speaks of, about how the Mercenary Knights are related to the Devourer of the Nine Worlds. So far it hasn't been touched on with each other up until now, but now they couldn't avoid it.

Back at the mansion of E-Rantel, where the protagonist is continuing talking with his peers and the Mercenary Knights. He recalls that when they call saw the debris in the Womb Corridor, he heard Aggresiel say the word "Mother." SO he now asks Aggresiel on what she meant by that, as she referred the owner of the debris being associated as parent, and that someone is one who poses a threat to the world...depending on their argument, he and the Nazarick agents will have no choice but to take appropriate action. Shalltear concurs that is certainly an unpleasant thing to hear, and beckons the sisters to speak if they wish to have a dialogue. Soi impatient tells the sisters to speak so they can prove their innocence.

First of all, Aggresiel thinks they can understand why she and Billiophia didn't tell them about this situation earlier. The sisters thought they should explain it to them after gaining their trust. But as Billiophia can see that trust is being eroded. But the situation isn't hopeless as Aggresiel counterargues. Despite these concerns, the leader of the Mercenary Knights note that the protagonist invited them to his mansion. Of course, with the summon guards on standby, probably thinking this was the safest place. They still haven't reached the point of becoming enemies yet or at least that's what the Sorcerer Kingdom agents think.

The protagonist presses the issue on calling out the word "Mother" noting Aggresiel had a look of annoyance on her face. Both he and the sisters can understand each other's true intentions through "presence." The protagonist notes they used this ability to prove their innocence. And predicted that they would not be expelled in that tense situation.

Aggresiel guesses that she was exaggerating, blurting out that words out of spite...but affirms that the protagonist is correct in might have thinking that her true intentions would be obvious from her "presence". To that end Billiophia chides her sister on relying too much on the homunculus' calmness. To which Aggresiel honestly regrets and this apologizes to the protagonist and his associates for putting them all to the test in the end.

In addition, she would like to thank them for their generous attitude in continuing the dialogue. And would like to declare here again that she have no false intentions in what she has said to them all so far. The protagonist corrects her statin it's more "without false intention" rather than "without falsehood". While true, Aggresiel states that many of the things they consider to be true are based on their experiences while traveling. There is a possibility that they may differ from the truth.

If there is any truth to this, Billiophia  states that it is only that her sister has traveled to many worlds, seen with her own eyes, and experienced with her own skin, and provided the information she has gained to the beloved people of Ainz Ooal Gown. On that, Aggresiel tells Billiophia to stop being patronising. Fundamentally the sisters are here to ask for the Sorcerer Kingdom's help. And she would like to be taught not only how to treat humans, but also how to effectively use the power that the Creator has bestowed upon her, and above all,——defeat "Mother" or as everyone at Ainz Ooal Gown knows as the Devourer of the Nine Worlds. Which she truly believes that they can do with the Sorcerer Kingdom's aid. Soi is stunned that the sisters have such a goal to kill Kuyō.  Even Shalltear finds it perplexing that that they would call Kuyō, "Mother" who is like a creator to them as an enemy.

Aggresiel voices that's a bit misleading. She and her sisters are beings that were "supposed" to be created by their Creator. They are beings who could not be fulfilled in YGGDRASIL, born from the power of the Womb Corridor, outside the rules, literally a deformed being. Calling Kuyō "Mother" is a sarcastic nickname for them. The thing is, as Billiophia puts it one can't choose their parents.

This is mind, for his case, the protagonist was lucky that he found himself in the Great Tomb of Nazarick. And wonders if maybe they are in a similar situation. Just to confirm, he asks if the sister are saying that they are not worshippers of Kuyō? Like that have they ever heard the "voice" of Kuyō? Aggresiel expresses surprise that the caterpillar can talk!. And Billiophia is s well, as Kuyō didn't seem intelligence. But to answer his question they don't have any religious beliefs towards Kuyō.

The protagonist is relieved to know once again that they are not similar to that Enhela. Aggresiel knows of the Theocracy priest, calling him really crazy and pretty creepy. However, as her sister explained, Billiophia tates that they want to break away from Kuyō. While it is their mother——-Kuyō that is literally devouring the world. Aggresiel knows that just with her sisters running the shows it won't do much against Kuyō, but with the help of everyone at Ainz Ooal Gown she thinks that they have a chance.

Shalltear agrees that it is certainly true that if it were them, defeating Kuyō is something they definitely want to accomplish. However, Soi has heard that defeating the Kuyō was a difficult task even with a party of Supreme Beings assembled. She for one would like to have something to help Nazarick in its subjugation...a foothold in terms of military strength.

So, as a first step... Aggresiel would like to present this piece of Remnant that was just recovered to the Sorcerer Kingdom. She hopes it will be put to good use.

Mercenary Knights then reopen the case with item inside. Soi is in awe comments that Remnant a valuable rare item.

Aggresiel finds that to be true. However, she thinks it would be more effective to share this information with everyone so they can find ways to use it more effectively. In the future, if they could share the results of their research, it would be more efficient to use it. From what Shalltear can see, that's an attractive proposal. In that case...if the Sorcerer Kingdom were to go to their world, would the Mercenary Knights be able to lend them the rights to mine Remnant?

Aggresiel would be happy if they’d come. It's a rare material, so she can't give them everything. As Billiophia put its they’ll have to consider that, asks that they  please let them take the mineral home for now——after all she has have a noisy little sister. The protagonist understands, and is also happy that he was able to give them a nice gift. Shalltear chuckles saying that she is sure Momonga will be very pleased.

Aggresiel is relieved as it gives her great peace of mind to hear Shalltear say that. On behalf of her and her sisters, she hopes that they can continue to have a good relationship in the future.

As night falls outside the mansion. The sisters, who wish to break away from the Kuyō, are entrusted with an item that can materialize their wishes: Remnant. The question remains is how much benefit or harm will it bring to the Sorcerer Kingdom?

As the protagonist gazed at the case placed on the table, he hoped that the future, which he could not yet see, would be bright. The episode then ends notifying the player that the story will be continued in Chapter 3
