Martial Lord (武王 Buō) is a title for the most powerful warrior in the Grand Arena of the Baharuth Empire.

Background

Martial Lord is a title given to the most powerful warrior in the Grand Arena of the Baharuth Empire. Evidently, the title is granted to the next consecutive warrior that defeats the previous mantle holder.

Chronology

The Invaders of the Large Tomb Arc

The Martial Lord is brought up by the workers gathered at Count Femel's courtyard when comparing various famous warriors from across the continent.[1]

The Ruler of Conspiracy Arc

The Giant Lord was challenged by the Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown to a duel in the Grand Arena. Though Ainz had reduced his power, he still managed to defeat the War Troll.[2]

Baziwood Peshmel talked about Kullervo Palantynen with Nimble Arc Dale Anoch and how the gladiator improved in skills. It brought out the topic of the other previous Martial Lords and if they could perhaps fill the vacancies of the Four Imperial Knights. However so far none of the warriors showed any interest in joining the knights.[3]

  • 1st Generation: The 1st Martial Lord
  • 2nd Generation: The 2nd Martial Lord
  • 3rd Generation: Sword Demon
  • 4th Generation: Weak Lord / Dirty Sword / The Strongest
  • 5th Generation: Four Lightning Whip
  • 6th Generation: White Eyebrows
  • 7th Generation: Corrosive Wolf
  • 8th Generation: Giant Lord[4]

Trivia

  • The First and Second Generation Martial Lords are dead, while the rest have not yet died in the Arena.
  • There is a Job Class with the same name, which Sebas Tian possesses.[5]
  • Two of the Martial Lords were mentioned to be former nobles. Of the two one was said to be a magic item hoarder. But the other was described as an okama and the third son of Viscount Zesch and being able to fight the combine might of the Four Imperial Knights.
