Malmvist was present with the other members of the Six Arms, excluding Succulent when Zero declares that all those who stained their name will be destroyed.[1]

Since kidnapping Tuare, the Six Arms forms a welcoming party for Sebas Tian to make him pay for disgracing the group's name.

After seeing Sebas kill Davernoch, Edström, and Peshurian single-handedly, Malmvist goes half insane with disbelief, unable to comprehend the slaughter in front of him. Just before being killed, he catches Sebas' bloodied glove, thinking that it was an extremely powerful magic item.[2]

Mass for the Dead Arc[]

Main article: Mass for the Dead Arc

After Eight Fingers collapse, Malmvist found himself without a job and switched his talents as a worker. At a bar with Six Arms, they were approached by Hilma who invited Six Arms to work at E-Rantel her using her new position at the Pharmacist's Guild. Zero not wanting to be indebt to her refused. Zero intended to build a new organization with his comrades in Six Arms. Malmvist became the head of the gambling, banking, and assassination trade in Zero's nascent criminal empire. The criminal empire started slow but was gaining momentum however he and his comrades lost and their noble backers as the Kingdom was cracking down on all illegal activities as part of their concessions to the new Tripartite Alliance. Though this set Six Arms back, Succulent brought news of the large amount of goods being transferred to the city of E-Rantel. The information opened a new opportunity to head to E-Rantel as it was apparent that the border city was becoming the new center of the world.[3] Later in order to destabilize the Tripartite Alliance, Zero made a deal with Zurrernorn to complete their Death Spiral ritual. The criminal kept his comrades in Six Arms out of the loop of the plan but they followed his direction and worked with him to guard the site of the ritual thinking it was just a normal job. In the ensuing chaos, Davernoch was killed and Zero escaped, leaving Malmvist and the others to be arrested for the incident by Blue Roses and their allies.[4]

Once Zero defected to the Baharuth Empire, he gained amnesty for himself and by extension his comrades, allowing the surviving members of Six Arms to be acquitted of their crimes. They acted as a unit to train and lead a group of workers to fight against a horde of Chaos Beasts that were heading towards E-Rantel. Zero was ordered by the emperor to lead the monsters into the Quarry where the imperial knights would box the Chaos Beasts and eliminate them. Zero followed his orders to the letter but when the reinforcements came he expected them to join in the fray. They did not and Zero suspected something was off. He then called his comrades to get off the quarry floor. That action saved their lives as the quarry floor was broken apart by a mechanism activated by the knights, causing the workers and Chaos Beasts to fall into the Melting Pot. The trap dissolved everyone that fell into the pit killing them. Zero friends who survived the trap watched in horror at the lengths of which the Bloody Emperor would use to achieve victory. On the contrary Zero praised the action as the best method worthy of a leader.[5]

In the aftermath, Malmvist and Peshurian were the only ones who stayed beside Zero. On an massive undead subjugation mission into the Katze Plains, Malmvist joined his leader in a quest to capture the Captain of the Ghost Ship. Among the workers that were hired as escorts only two survived the ordeal, being Regi and Shizuni. The Ghost Ship was located and its captain Iguva was challenged by Zero to become his subordinate. Malmvist witnessed his leader defeat and summarily offer the undead a place among Six Arms. After the lich accepted the offer, the workers returned to their hideout in Arwintar. There the members of Six Arms hosted a toast to their new comrade and to restoring their team.

Later he was sent to tail Regi and Shizuni at the orders of Zero as it was believed the two would make suitable candidates as members of Six Arms. The female workers sensed him watching them as they were in the Central Market and confronted him in an isolated alley. Their skill in detecting him convince the former criminal that the two were not rookies and stated that Zero wished for them to join Six Arms. The invitation was well received by the two workers as they were honored to be working alongside such big-names. There was a bit of unease when Shizuni offered to give Zero a jewel she swiped from a stall, surprising Malmvist as he failed to notice when she did that. The trinket though valuable was a bit careless and Malmvist cautioned the girl to avoid making a scene. This translated to Shizuni to return the item back to the stall before anyone notice and it was too late to prevent her. Since she was able to do so easily without attracting the attention of the knights patrolling the areas, it raised the two's skills in Malmvist's eyes. However before they could be inducted into his team, Malmvist informed them that a physical test of strength was in order and challenged them to fight him.

After the fight Malmvist was sure on their strength and guided them to the Singing Apple Pavilion where his comrade Peshurian was staying. While they waited for Zero and Iguva to return from speaking to their next client, he then offered a meal of pork stew with his new teammates so they could bond. The next day the mission was revealed to ensure the safety of a smuggling route in the Katze Plains to the Theocracy that wished to be used by the anti-Jircniv faction. The workers used Iguva's ship to travel along the route and check for any danger before the route was opened. While on the ship, Iguva warned his comrades that though he was able to keep lesser undead at bay, other stronger undead creatures like Death Knights and Skeletal Dragons were beyond his control. Since those were rare existences it was believed by Malmvist that an encounter with either types of undead was unlikely, however he proved to be wrong when a Skeletal Dragon appeared. The workers had to fight the dragon and not only successfully defeated but saw Regi and Shizuni in action.

A day passed since the route was cleared of any danger, and the workers were ordered by the nobles of the anti-Jircniv faction to guide their carriages through the Katze Plains to reach their business partners in the Theocracy who would trade them slaves and weapons. Among the cargo that was being transported to the Theocracy was an rune weapon armor set meant as a gift to the Theocracy which he informed Regi and Shizuni on its purpose. Six Arms led the convoy of nobles and workers through the fog, and were intercepted by the remaining members of the Four Imperial Knights.

To the horror of the anti-Jircniv faction Zero had sold them out, to gain a seat as a member of the Four Imperial Knights. The only ones who were in on the scheme were Malmvist and Peshurian. Though all the workers hired by the nobles remained loyal to their employers, Iguva, Regi and Shizuni chose to side with Zero. Once all the rebels were captured, the three worried about their fate and if they would be disposed of, though Malmvist put their worries at ease. As for Zero his promotion to a knight was delayed until a proper duel between him and one of the Four Knights could be scheduled to determine if he was worthy enough to be in their ranks. Though his boss was not promoted, Malmvist praised Zero on his success and was glad to hear that Six Arms would continue to exist for a little longer.[6]

One day Malmvist would spot Regi, Iguva and Shizuni going into the Katze Plains. Interested in what they were doing so covertly, he brought Peshurian to help him follow them. The two hid in the fog and watched as they three searched Iguva's Ghost Ship. Believing that this was odd, the two reported the behavior to Zero. Afterwards Regi and Shizuni were brought before the three human workers to explain themselves. Under pressure the women admitted that they were trying to make some extra money by seeing if Iguva had a mithril plate that they hoped to sell as the Adventurer's Guild was looking for it. Upon learning that the protagonist was involved in the recovery of the item and in the Katze Plains, Malmvist joined his team in the search for the plate. His team ran afoul with a horde of undead causing them to run and encounter Darkness in the fog. After agreeing to a temporary truce the two groups fought to defeat the undead. Later Darkness shared some information that the mithril plate was in the possession of a Skeletal Dragon. Neither he nor Peshurian wanted to deal with that undead and believed it was better to withdraw, though Zero changed his mind after his boss told him that the undead dragon should have an enormous treasure hoard. More undead arrived, being led by the Skeletal Dragon, Malmvist knowing his piercing weapon was useless switched to using a melee weapon. After the battle, Malmvist was left exhausted by the battle but was glad that his team earned a sizeable reward.[7]

The fencer while in the Central Market of Arwintar spotted Regi and Shizuni frantically browsing through the wares of the merchants on magic item. Interested he came over and learned that the duo had an item to resell the items from the imperial capital to E-Rantel. Though demand for the items possibly grew due to the population boom, Malmvist wasn't sure if it was profitable due to the transportation costs, but changed his mind when they told him that Iguva could cover the costs using his Ghost Ship. He decided to help them as it was a quick way to make money, and directed them to the shops that had the better quality items.

Malmvist was at the base having drinks with the male members of the worker team, contemplating whether Regi's and Shizuni's resale venture would be successful. At the same time he cheered Zero up who was concerned that the team could fracture again, stating he and Peshurian had stuck by him too long to abandon him. Later he made a bet with Peshurian on the outcome of the female team members, with him betting that it would succeed. Peshurian won the bet, but the women brought valuable news and a new magic item that herald the Sorcerer Kingdom future plans of launching a new line of magic items.[8]

In the aftermath of the Calamity, Shizuni had gone missing. Malmvist and his teammates continued to operate as a group. Later when news reached them that E-Rantel was hosting something called a Halloween Festival, Regi decided to check it out. She was joined by Zero who was interested in the exhibition fight as he wanted to show off his strength there in front of the emperor who was said to be attending. While they were gone, Malmvist and Peshurian were left in charge. After they left Malmvist wondered if their boss went with Regi out of concern for her.[9]

On a slow day of working jobs, Malmvist hanged out with his team, minus Iguva=41, at the Singing Apple Pavilion. On the lack of prospective clients, Malmvist planned to go to the Katze Plains to hunt down Contaminated Beasts whose numbers had increased since the Disaster of Fire in E-Rantel. This brings up the topic of the latest rumors Regi heard about what happened in the city, where invisible monsters attacked it causing their victims to vanish, corpse and all. The talk about corpses though sickened Malmvist as he was trying to eat his meal. When Regi and Shizuni became interested in a bard singing a ballad about the emperor's brilliant plan in slaying a horde of Chaos Beasts, the fencer explained the role of bards. As the two showed interest, he told them that in order to do so, they would have to join a guild. Though Zero entertained the idea of bards singing prasies of New Six Arms, he and Peshurian expressed their doubts on such an idea. Much later at their hideout, he and all the male members of New Six Arms were examining a new item brought back by Regi and Shizuni, the electric guitar.[10]

Abilities and Powers[]

Malmvist is a fencer who fights more like an assassin than a warrior, relying on a rapier which can kill any normal fighter with a single scratch. Despite lacking skills in the sword, his lunging technique is top-notch, even surpassing Gazef Stronoff's strikes. He also possesses numerous Martial Arts that could allow his lunging strike to even match the former Black Scripture member Clementine.

Main Equipment[]

  • Whetstone of Keane
  • Move Plus (Boots)
  • Mix Potion
  • Rose Thorn: This weapon's tip is covered in a mixture of several deadly poisons, and the rapier itself is imbued with two complementary spells.

Relationships[]

Zero[]

He respects and fears Zero as the leader of the Six Arms.

Trivia[]

  • Malmvist was based on the Web Novel character Lubelina.
  • According to the novel, Malmvist's lunging strength is said to surpass Gazef Stronoff's strike and even match that of Clementine's strength.

Quotes[]

  • (To Zero): "Well, you're not a good comparison, boss...still, our enemy can break down a steel-reinforced door. While Succulent was the weakest of us, that still means he took down a member of Six Arms. Should we take him as a potential enemy, then?"
  • (To Sebas Tian): "This is it!!! This must be the magic item that's making you stronger!!!"
