La-Angler Lava Lord (ラーアングラー・ラヴァロード) is one of the Three Rulers of Mt. Rappaslea, ruling the Land of Molten Magma.
Appearance
La-Angler Lava Lord is a gigantic monster over 50 meters long, which resembles an anglerfish. However, instead of a bright lure on its head like its aquatic counterpart, it possesses a tentacle.
Personality
So far no information is given on its personality, but given its position as one of the Three Rulers of Mt. Rappaslea, it may be a territorial creature.
Background
Particularly, La-Angeler Lava Lord has control over the underground sea of magma. Although its home is in Mt. Rappaslea, it seems like it regularly crosses through the Gates to the caverns of the Azerlisia Mountains.

This monster's domain was briefly visited by Ainz Ooal Gown, Shalltear Bloodfallen, Aura Bella Fiora, and Gondo Firebeard on their way to the ancient dwarf capital. Through the aid of Ainz's magic, the party passed through the region with ease above the molten seas. Due to this neither the La-Angler Lava Lord or party became aware of the other's existence.
Abilities and Powers
The La-Angler Lava Lord is one of the New World's fine examples of how a monster can continue to grow with age and become an apex monster. It is one of the superior specimens with a specialized form of evolution adapted to its lava environment. Using its tentacle, the creature could seize a distant foe and deposit it into its oversized jaws. It has sturdy and tough skin, covered with scales that can grow like a normal fish. However, their toughness far surpassed that of even orichalcum.
If ranked by the adventurer's difficulty rating, La-Angler Lava Lord would be 140. In YGGDRASIL standards, it would be somewhere around level 46.
Fortunately, however, it is poor at engaging terrestrial targets, so one would not be attacked if one stayed out of the magma. Moreover, crossing the sea of magma posed no problems for travelers prepared with fire immunity. As well as with flight magic, neither party would realize the presence of each other.[1]
Trivia
- The dwarves of the Dwarf Kingdom have recorded sightings of La-Angler Lord.
- Quite a number of Quagoa had fallen into the magma during their invasion.
