Kimono (着物) is an item from YGGDRASIL.
Description[]
An item that is found to be worn by various Non-Playable Characters and players in YGGDRASIL. Though designs for the kimono have also made its way into the New World. They are in a foreign country in the south of the Re-Estize Kingdom where folktales talk of swordsmen wearing kimonos performed brilliantly and their exploits are still passed down in modern times.
The denizens of the Great Tomb of Nazarick have access to a wardrobe of kimonos, though are mostly worn as formal attire at festive events such as the "Bon Odori" or New Year's.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
Appearance[]
A type of clothing similar to a robe. It is a simple, straight-seamed garment, normally worn wrapped on the left side over right and secured with a sash called an obi. Kimonos come in various colors and patterns with various adjustments. Long sleeved kimonos are usually worn by women. And short-sleeved kimonos are usually worn by men.[8]
Abilities[]
At first glance, it appears to be light and lacks defensive power, but it is the perfect equipment for swordsmen, who does not normally wear heavy armor and prefers equipment that is easy to wear and lightweight.

- The kimono is the traditional dress of Japan.
- In the Web Novel, Ainz Ooal Gown possessed a kimono with a crest and hakama in his wardrobe.[11]
- Neuronist Painkill wore a kimono while managing the bar while Clavu was away.[12]
- Sebas Tian on the cover of Overlord: The Undead Oh! Chapter 35 was shown in a sushi chef kimono.[13]
- Albedo owns a kimono that also comes with a hamaya.[14]
- Evileye wears a kimono which includes a paper parasol decorated with flowers resembling roses are scattered all over her body. Because it produces green leaves regardless of the season, it has been popularly admired as the "Auspicious Tree in the country where it was introduced since ancient times . Its evergreen leaves and exceptionally large flowers are said to symbolize "unchangeability" and "eternal beauty," while warriors saw the whole flower falling as "the head falling off." Apparently, it was considered bad luck.[15]
- Ninjas were usually portrayed as to wearing kimonos as equipment.[16] Though ninjas were said to wear kimono for covert actions and stand out as decoys.[17]
- A few characters in some Mass for the Dead crossover events had characters wearing kimonos, such as Glass from The Rising of the Shield Hero, and Shizuka Futari from Sasaki and Peeps.[18][19]
- On the cover of Overlord: The Undead Oh! Chapter 79, Demiurge, Shalltear and Aura are seen wearing kimonos as well as an elder lich.[20]
