Plot[]
The movie opens with the school staff, Erich von Rerugen, Roswaal L Mathers, Wiz, Vanir, Pandora's Actor, Kurt von Rudersdorf, and Hans von Zettour, laying out the proper code of conduct to the watchers.
In Another World, a girl-shaped Golem is moving around some goods when the ground suddenly shakes. Spotting the source of the tremors, a rampaging Siege Golem, she heads toward it. The Golem is revealed to be chasing the members of the class, plus Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo. Several classmates try to hurt it or slow it down, to no effect: Puck shoots [El Huma] at it, Aqua tries distracting it, Naofumi summons several [Air strike Shields] in its path, and Darkness attempts to use herself as a meatshield but is stopped by Wilibald and Rhiner. Demiurge recognizes the creature as being from YGGDRASIL, explaining to the others that it is a top-tier monster and that their chances of beating it are roughly 0%.
As the class crosses a bridge, with the golem still chasing them, Kazuma tries using [Steal] to remove its core and shut it down. However, not wanting to be outshined, Megumin casts [Explosion] on the golem, getting in Kazuma's way and causing him to accidentally steal her panties. While failing to do damage, the [Explosion] causes the golem to fall into the river. However, this also creates a shockwave that blows everyone away. Having observed the whole ordeal, the girl is shocked to find that other people have appeared in the world.
Flashing back to a little while ago, the classmates are still at the school and going about their day: Tanya's squad does maintenance on their equipment, the Floor Guardians, Kazuma's party, and Emilia Camp are bonding, and Naofumi's party drops by to deliver some papers. Ainz pets Chomusuke when a portal suddenly appears behind him and sucks him in before he can react followed by the other classmates. Afterward, the classmates, minus Ainz and Chomusuke who got separated, find themselves in yet another world where they are immediately attacked by the Siege Golem.
Back in the present, the classmates find themselves separated across the world. Elsewhere, Ainz and Chomusuke discover a storehouse containing countless golems that the Overlord recognizes as being from YGGDRASIL and a control panel to manipulate them.
Naofumi, Aqua, Mare, Ram, Rem, Wilibald, and Rhiner are attacked by an army of low-tier golems. While they can fight them off, more just keep appearing. Fortunately, Naofumi has a plan and imprisons himself, Ram, and Rem inside his [Shield Prison] before having Wilibald and Rhiner fly them to safety. Rem also does something similar by having Aqua and Mare ride a block of ice she created using [Ul Huma]. After flying for a while the group notices a village and decides to land nearby, causing them to get noticed by one of the inhabitants.
Meanwhile, the girl locates another group, Subaru, Beatrice, Puck, Demiurge, Shalltear, Aura, Darkness, Visha, and Filo, but does not know how to approach them. However, when they are about to attack a rampaging low-tier golem, she intervenes and calms it down. The group demand to know who she is and she flamboyantly introduces herself as Pantagruel, the "guardian of [this] world", causing them to realize that she is a chūnibyō. Pantagruel continues to explain that the golems that inhabit this world are out of control and invites them to come with her to her home village, enticing them by revealing that there is a human living there.
The group then follow her to the village where they see it to be populated by multiple low-tier golems doing chores and manning the fields. Subaru's group are delighted to see that Naofumi group is present and they have a happy reunion. Though they notice that they are still missing their other classmates. Pantagruel then introduces them to Alec, who invites them for a meal. Subaru though asks Pantagruel of there are any more people, only to be told that there are only two humans in the entire world. The other besides Alec is a girl named Vera. When inquired where Vera is, Pantagruel sadly tells the newcomers that Vera left her and Alec. Subaru seeing that the subject is sour then changes topic of where the rest of Class 2 is, though his friends believe that they will be find. However Subaru's concern is to Kazuma.
Meanwhile Kazuma is complaining to himself, lost in a jungle. He finally comes face to face with a seemingly giant moss covered rock. He then climbs on it to get a better view and spots a girl in a military uniform riding on a motorcycle contraption made of golems. Kazuma decides to follow her and she leads him to a fortress buried in the nearby sand dune.
Inside the fortress, the girl discovers Ainz with Chomosuke studying an a wall with a giant orb embedded in it. Seeing that he is an intruder, the girl brandishes a knife at him. Upon seeing his skeletal face the girl thinks Ainz to be the Grim Reaper, which the undead finds rather rude though totally not incorrect. Ainz sees the girl as not a threat and decides to use his appearance to intimidate her to get information. However before he can properly introduce himself, he is interrupted by none other than Kazuma who calls out to him in an overly casual manner.
Happy that he sees not only a familiar face, Kazuma ignoring the tense situation tries to flirt with the girl but instead she direct her knife at her which causes him to finally understand the dire situation. The boy then feigns mercy but then uses [Steal] on the stranger, Other than a flash of light the girl seems unfazed by the attack, until Kazuma to his embarrassment finds his attack made him acquire the girl's panties which he apologetically returns. Fluster by this, the girl accepts her purloined article before directing two golems to attack the boy. Ainz comes to Kazuma's aid and easily brushes aside the construct and instead offers the girl a chance to talk things out.
The girl is angry at the suggestion, considering what Kazuma did to her. Though Ainz points out that the golems she has will not be able to stop him and neither will her knife. The girl seeing his point understands that she's totally outclassed and surrenders, offering them to do as they will. The two classmates are confused on the girl's acceptance to her fate, being neither sad nor angry. But Ainz is more interested in the giant golems in the chamber as they are the same as the ones in his old world. Though he has doubts that they are in his old world as he still cannot perform certain types of magic so he correctly assumes that they are in different world, pulled here by some unknown force. From that tidbit of information he deduces that the girl is also the same as he and Kazuma.
The girl introduces herself as Vera Mitrohina as Ainz had yet to ask her name. Seeing that he was rude Ainz apologizes which throws her off as she did not expect such manners from a scary skeleton. He then redoes his introduction and then asks Vera about the ominous looking sphere in the wall. Vera seeing that there is no point in hiding it, explains that it is a device that allows one to teleport between worlds or at least according to a diary from a human who once operated the facility full of golems. Ainz confirms that the device has incredible amounts of magic though it is currently offline and assumes that it requires a condition in order for it to be activated.
Vera confirms that this to be true and makes an offer for both students, that they form a temporary alliance with each other so that they can find a way to activate the device so they all can return to their worlds. Vera is desperate to get back to her own world no matter what. Ainz and Kazuma agree to an alliance in order to gain more information from the diary Vera possesses. Before Vera goes to fetch the diary, AInz asks one last question of why she wants to go back to her world. The girl answers that she intends to return to her world there and bring the golems to end a war.
After she leaves them, Ainz ponders this new piece of information. Kazuma realizes that Vera is wearing the same uniform as their classmate Tanya and her men, something which Ainz had failed to notice. Since they wear the same uniform both conclude that Vera and Tanya must be from the same world and hence it is alright to aid her. Still Ainz has many more questions like the facility, how Vera is able to control the golems and why YGGDRASIL golems in this world.
Meanwhile Tanya is leading another group from Class 2, composed of Cocytus, Albedo, Raphtalia, Emilia, Megumin, Vooren, Matheus through the desert where they are constantly under attack by waves of golems. The group handles themselves very well but are getting hungry and annoyed by the non-stop attacks, although Albedo urges them to persevere as they need to find the rest of their class. Her plan is to use the fight to attract the attention of their comrades who will hopefully notice the commotion and will rendezvous with them.
Back at the village the rest of Class 2 enjoy a meal of okonomiyaki prepared by Naofumi and Ram with the assistance of the village's golem helpers. Demiurge resumes questioning Alec and Pantagruel on whether or not there is a way to return to their original world. Alec is silent on the matter and is answered by Pantagruel instead who claims that there isn't. Aqua buts into the conversation asking why the golems attacked them in contrast to the golems in the village which are friendly.
Pantagruel states that the golems were not originally hostile or attacked people. But their current behavior is the result of a particular ring that can control the golems in the world and is being misused. The students asks who is in possession of the ring, but Pantagruel is hesitant to answer. Alec then takes over and explains that Vera is the one responsible as she had stolen the ring after she left him and Pantagruel.
Naofumi still wonders why Vera is commanding the golems to attack them? The older man explains that the attack was probably just a test to see the golems strengths and capabilities. Vera as it turns out came from a world at war, one that is not going so well. Vera's plan is to take the golems back to her world as the golems are the perfect immortal soldiers and are sure to win the war. However Alec and Pantagruel found the idea morally wrong as they believe that the people in Vera's world need to solve their problems on their own.
Shalltear though points out that since there is no way for Vera to return to her original world so there is no need to worry about her or her golems. Instead she believes they need to put all their energies in finding Ainz. Demiurge agrees as they can worry about returning home after the find Ainz, and to a lesser extend their other classmates.
Back at the facility, as Vera returns to the chamber where her new allies are, she recalls reading finding and reading the diary in Pantagruel's room about the device that can help her return home. Pantagruel walks in on Vera reading the book, and the latter furious accuses Pantagruel for lying to her about there not being a way home for her. Pantagruel tries to state its not what it seems, when Alec arrives to see what's the commotion, and sees Vera pointing her knife at Pantagruel.
Vera demands if Alec was in on the lie, but the older man states he doesn't know what she is talking about but does not seem surprised when Vera shows him the diary. Angry Vera walks out of the village. Alec tries to go after her asking why she would want to go back to her world which is torn by war? Vera still is insistent of going back, but this confuses Pantagruel as by Vera's own account the war there is awful as opposed to the world she is in where it was empty and at peace. Pantagruel invites Vera to call this world home, but is rejected by Vera who admits that she did indeed say where world was horrible, but after finding the diary and the ring everything has changed. With them Vera believed that she can end the war and protect her homeland.
The diary is shown to Ainz and Kazuma, as Vera reveals that in order to activate the sphere a special object needs to be placed at a console, however she has no idea what the item could be as it is only referred to as the Sign of the Chūnibyō. Though Vera is at a loss of what a chūnibyō is, however her two allies are all too familiar with the term. This causes Vera to beg them to tell her what chūnibyō is. However their literal definition of the term confuses her, leaving Ainz to reluctantly display how a chūnibyō act through speaking and acting out in contravene poses. But the demonstration is of little use to Vera. Looking over the console, Ainz guess that something that the chūnibyō wear needs to be placed in the impression, which looks to be a small patch with a cross. Kazuma notices it looks to be an eyepatch, which drives a point into Vera that it matches the one Pantagruel wears on her left eye.
At the village, Visha reports to Pantagruel and her classmates about a series of explosions she, Wilibald and Rhiner spotted in the wasteland north from their position while surveying from high ground. Its deduced that a battle is taking place and the rest of Class 2 believe it is the rest of their friends. Hearing that a chunk of ice was spotted, Subaru, volunteers to go and is followed by Pantagruel, Naofumi and Beatrice, Aqua is a last minute volunteer to the team, as the goddess she believed it was more fun than staying in the village.
While journeying to the site of where their friends are, Subaru asks Pantagruel is Alec is from another world, to which the golem confirms this, though adds the man hasn't spoken about his past but is just as happy to be living in the current world. Subaru surmises that the man was happy to be with someone like Pantagruel as living alone is no fun. The group soon gets along with the banter, before they arrive at some ruins to rest. Aqua then offers Pantagruel an opportunity to let go of anything she wants to confess as she sensed that during their conversation about returning to their world, the golem had something on her mind.
Pantagruel then admits with sadness that she is a liar and states that there is actually a way for Class 2 to return home as it is a device located in the facility in the wasteland. This is shocking for the group and Pantagruel elaborates that there are conditions for the device to be used. Though the group first wants to know why Pantagruel lied to them. The golem is unsure but states that perhaps she was tired of running from reality. However she decides to make up for that by telling the group the conditions, however Subaru first wants to regroup with everyone.
On the way to the site, Beatrice asks Pantagruel if it was alright to tell them about her lie? Pantagruel has no regrets, coming to a realization now that it is important to be open with the ones you love. They soon reach their destination where the battle is still ongoing for the missing members of Class 2. Pantagruel is horrified at the destruction of so many golems and rushes to stop the fighting with Aqua supporting her. Their presence is sensed by Cocytus, calling out to his allies that two strange existences are making their way. Tanya and Albedo take a moment to spot the ones approaching and immediately recognize Aqua who they looked down on as the annoying so-called goddess. Despite being some distance away, Aqua senses their insults, causing her to run towards her critics, but as soon as she reaches them, Albedo casually judo flips her in the air.
Back at the golem facility, Vera prepares to head out to retrieve the key to the device on her makeshift golem cycle. Ainz decides to remain behind as he wishes to learn more about the golems in the facility. Kazuma suggests he can come with Vera, but is rejected by the girl. To provide her an escort, Ainz uses his magic to summon a undead for her to command. Vera leaves with the undead, with Chomusuke tagging along.
Back in the wasteland both a crying Aqua and angry Albedo are seen sitting on their knees. Albedo is annoyed at being punished but is berated by Cocytus for breaking Ainz's rule in attacking classmates. As the group get reacquainted with one another, Megumin notices Pantagruel who looks almost exactly like her double and totally hit it off becoming friends. Tanya is informed by Naofumi and Subaru of the location of the rest of Class 2 as well as someone with knowledge on how to return to their world. The military leader agrees that they will follow them back to the village.
Once back at the village the students happily reunite. Tanya then wants to meet with Alec, and is told by Pantagruel that he is in the cathedral of the settlement. Pantagruel leads Megumin, Tanya and Visha there, where they found Alec, however he is not alone. Alec tries to warn Pantagruel to approach as Vera is present. Upon seeing Vera, Pantagruel tries to greet her but Vera instead restrains the golem and holds her at knifepoint. The human tells her former friend that she knows that she is the key to activating the device to return home as everything in the diary points her out as the chūnibyō. However she gets confused when Megumin dramatically introduces herself and demands she release Pantagruel. To Vera Megumin has the same exact eyepatch and her actions are the very image of a chūnibyō that Ainz had demonstrated and even admits to being one. With the possibility of capturing the wrong chūnibyō, Vera has doubts on her plan, but is quickly told that she has not made a mistake by Pantagruel.
That being said Vera quickly ties up Pantagruel much to Alec's dismay. Tanya and Visha arrive at the scene demanding what is going on and they see that Vera is wearing the same military uniform as them. Tanya thinking Vera is a fellow countrywoman from their homeland introduces herself, but Vera already knows who she is. But instead of respect, Vera only emits disgust to Tanya who she calls a brainwashed dog of the Empire. To iterate her disdain Vera throw down her military medal to Tanya's shock. Vera reveals her identity as a spy for the Unified States. Visha upon hearing her admit that she is a traitor, attempt to kill Vera, but is stopped by Tanya as she wants to know more about their opponent. Tanya's act does little to change Vera's opinion, who only sees the While Silver as a little girl obsessed with war and a fanatic of the Empire. Tanya denies all these accusation, even when Vera claims that she cannot possibly know how other people from the Empire are seen by the world, as the White Silver knows all too well about the parallels of her past world to the world the Empire belongs to.
Seeing as they have a difference of opinion, Tanya gets to the point and demands to know what Vera intends to do with Pantagruel. Vera gleefully states that she intends to use Pantagruel to bring the golems to their world, end the war and destroy the Empire. Alec pleads with Vera asking if this is really what she wants, stating that weapons do not ends wars but people. Vera is adamant on her course as she believes this path will end "her war."
Vera reveals that her parents were born in the Empire, but left to migrate to the Unified States where they had Vera. Vera was initially proud of her heritage until the Empire declared war against the whole world. The people around distanced themselves from those associated with the Empire. Those who her parents and her considered friends saw them as enemies. Vera blames the Empire and people like Tanya for the cause of labeling those like her into pariahs. Still Tanya finds Vera's plan of destroying the Empire to be a bit over the top, but Vera justifies it as it was the Empire who destroyed her life, citing her dedication to its destruction by wearing the Empire's uniform and constantly lying to everyone around her. Having fed up with living a lie, Vera wants it all to be over and sees destroying the Empire as her only way to be free.
Tanya only finds this all to be childish tantrum, but to Vera it does not matter. As she prepares to take Pantagruel, Visha and Tanya attempt to stop her. Vera then reveals her trump card, a Death Knight that Ainz lent her ridden by Chomusuke. It smashes through the cathedral and tied with Megumin's panties on its arm. Chomusuke disembarks from the undead as Vera takes the golem girl and escapes on the Death Knight's back.
Tanya, Visha and Megumin the tell the others of these developments. The group now know that Pantagruel is the key to go home, and also with the Death Knight's appearance conclude that Ainz is at the facility in the desert. Albedo and Shalltear after hearing word of Ainz's whereabouts try to rush to leave for the site. But luckily Rem stops the two women from doing anything rash. As for Kazuma, Megumin knows for sure that the boy is with Ainz due to the undead having her possession. Demiurge then concludes that Class2 two needs to accomplish three objectives, 1) regrouping with Ainz and Kazuma, 2) capturing Vera and 3) rescuing Pantagruel. After all three are completed the demon believes that they will be able to return to their world
While everyone prepares for a battle, Subaru and Emilia speak with Alec, asking he is fine with them returning to their world? The man knew Pantagruel was lying so the question begs as to why he did not say anything. Subaru wonders if Alec does not want to return to his own world due to some circumstances there. But Alec states that it is not that he does not want to return, as he has friends and people that he still wishes to see. However Alec wants to remain in this world for the sake of Pantagruel as she has always been alone for three hundred years until he arrived. He found happiness being with her as did Vera for awhile, and understands that if he left to return to his world she would be alone once more. This also explains why Pantagruel had lied about there not being a way back to their worlds as she did not want to experience unbearable loneliness. While Alec understands her reasons for lying, Vera having lived an entire life of lie could not accept or forgive the golem.
Tanya eavesdropping asks if that is why Pantagruel why allowed herself to be easily captured, as a way for her to make amends to Vera. As the group heads out, Tanya announces that though Vera is a traitor to the Empire and would normally be killed, she declines to follow that harsh rule as they are currently in another world so the rules of their world do not apply. She also advises Alec to not to regret his decision in preventing this and promises to ensure a good outcome. Emilia adds to Alec that if he still has regrets he should try making an effort to apologize to his friends, which Alec thanks for her wise words.
At the facility, Ainz and Kazuma wander around and find a old room. They deduce that the room belonged to someone besides Vera and find a diary of the previous occupant, an old man researcher that describes how he arrived in the current world. Kazuma stops reading as he already guesses who the old man was. From the other chapters of the book, Ainz learns that in order to return home, they need to break the seal on the device using the "key". However if they do so, a dangerous golem will activate and destroy the world. Kazuma asks if Ainz can defeat it, but the undead is unsure as golem are difficult opponents for him. Inside the book the find a ring just like the one Vera possesses that control the golems. Just as Kazuma claims ownership, the two hear a ruckus and believe it is Vera bringing back the key.
Pantagruel is brought before the device and tries to warn Vera of the danger but is ignored and silenced. Kazuma and Ainz approach and are surprised that Vera not only brough the key to the seal but its owner. They wish to discuss with her about some of the details they found about the device, but Vera commands her golems to surround them. The duo are shocked when Vera reveals that she is not a fellow person from Tanya's homeland but from an enemy country. Since they are allies of Tanya, Vera claims that they are now her enemies and refuse to listen to their words. Regardless Ainz speaks aloud that the device she is trying to activate to open a way back to her world will release a powerful golem, a superweapon that destroy the world in the past. But the news of a powerful golem only gives Vera an incentive to activate the device, confident that her ring will enable her to control it.
Despite Ainz and Pantagruel's warnings Vera takes the golem girl's eyepatch and places it on the console. Whilst the device awakens, Vera tells her one-time allies that she still intends to keep her promise to them, and offers only Ainz and Kazuma to return to their world. But the offer is rejected by Ainz, and then a reluctant Kazuma, as he refuses to abandon his friends. Ainz then tells Kazuma to use Stealth to escape and tell the others on what is happen, which Kazuma is too eager to do. The Overlord remains behind to buy some time and quickly takes Pantagruel and teleports to a safe distance. The ultimate golem soon awakens much to Vera's delight.
Outside the facility in the desert, the rest of Class 2 have arrive to see that an army of golems block their path. However Class 2 works together to defeat the golems, engaging them in battle. Imperial 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion with the golems distracted dig a massive hole in the desert. The classmates all fight with the exception of Aqua who appears useless in battle as she claims/refuses to use her power to fight golems. This annoys Albedo greatly and the demon and goddess nearly comes to blows until Subaru interjects and manages to flatter Aqua to do another task which carpentry. Albedo not wanting to lose to Aqua also helps that they are tasked with building a massive door. Members of the Imperial 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion arrive with wood for the door. Despite Class 2's efforts the army of golems is endless and relentless and they realize the only way to stop them is for them to stop Vera. Emilia then asks Alec's help, which he finally agrees to step in and be taken to Vera and Pantagruel.
Naofumi encases himself and Alec in a Shield Prison which is then guarded by Tanya on top. Emilia using her unsealed power then tossing the group over the battlefield to the facility. The door is completed and Subaru and Beatrice go to enact their plan. Using ac combination of Beatrice's Door Crossing, and Subaru's power, the duo fly around the battlefield and being transporting the Siege Golems they encounter and use Non-Stop Abyss to transport them into the hole that was made via the door.
One Siege Golem is left to be taken into the hole and Mare attempts to trap it but fails. He is about to be crushed by Kazuma arrives with his own commandeered Siege Golem and directs it to fight against the other. While everyone is glad that Kazuma is safe, Aqua only takes the opportunity to berate Kazuma for being absent. To get rid of the other golem, Subaru directs Kazuma to throw the other golem at Aqua, who is in the relative direction of the pit, which Kazuma complies. Before the golem crushes the goddess she is saved by Koenig. Megumin who had been charging up her explosion magic then releases it upon the pit destroying everything within.
Back at the facility to Vera's horror she finds that her ring cannot enable her to control the ultimate golem. When it attacks her, Ainz steps in to protect her and then summons a [Meteor Fall] unto the golem. Said meteor crashed into the fortress, however the attack dissipates as it is revealed that the golem possesses anti-magic capabilities. The golem seeing the open desert then opts to fly out of its confinement, just as Tanya and her charges enter through the hole.
Vera is distress that all her work was all for naught. Alec seeing Vera's regret then reveals that breaking the seal on the golem was a step in the process to returning home. However he reveals a secret that he has kept from her, Pantagruel is the only person who can control the golem. As it turns out Pantagruel can do so because the same magic ring that Vera uses is also embedded in the golem girl's left eye. Pantagruel then asks everyone to help her get to the golem and she will stop it and get everyone home. Alec though reveals that if Pantagruel does so then she will forfeit her existence, having long knew about this requirement to open a portal home after reading the diary of her creator. Vera is confused by this and while Pantagruel is fine with this she has Ainz explain what a golem is: constructs with no will of their own and akin to objects that simply execute commands they are programmed to. Pantagruel accepts this to be her purpose and promises to get Vera home as a way to make up for lying to her friend.
Outside Ainz flies to see that the ultimate golem is going on a rampage as the rest of Class 2 try to stay out of its attack range. He then summons a Messenger to direct them to take Pantagruel to the golem once he contains the magic steam around the golem. Before he can explain why the summon is destroyed by the golem. But Demiurge quickly puts together that Pantagruel is the only one who can seal the golem. The demon then direct Kazuma to use his golem to keep the enemy golem still, while the rest of the class try to get Pantagruel to the left eye of the golem. Through a relay toss, groups of Class 2 throw Pantagruel to one another until she manages to touch the eye of the giant golem. Pantagruel is absorbed into the eye. The golem then rips out its own core, crushing it in its own hands to create a wormhole before collapsing into rumble.
Ainz, Tanya and Kazuma expect that the wormhole will take them back to school, and so direct everyone to enter the portal before is closes. Before entering Subaru and Emilia learn that Alec is staying in the current world to stay with what is left of Pantagruel. Alec then properly introduces himself as Alec Hoshin and wishes the couple a happy ending.
Tanya then speaks to Vera, indirectly forgiving her for her treason, opting to ignore it as she is a soldier of the frontlines and Vera will be back in the States where she has no authority to deal with her. Vera also thanks Ainz for being a friend. As Vera and Alec escort the remaining members of Class 2, Vera reveals to everyone that she has decided to remain behind with Alec to watch over their friend.
As the group enter the wormhole, the anomaly closes and soon enough the core breaks open revealing Pantagruel to the shock of Alec and Vera. As it turns out Kazuma using his [Steal] ability at the last minute manages to pull Pantagruel out before her memories are wiped away. Pantagruel now reunited with her two friends then vow to make a new life together in peace.
The credits showcase a series of illustrations telling the story of Pantagruel's past: her creator, Kikotenshin Nekonyan, was transported to Another World, where he met the Head Researcher and they began developing golems together. However, this eventually culminated in the creation of the Strongest Golem, which then promptly went on a rampage. To defeat it, Nekonyan and the Researcher created Pantagruel, and they successfully shut the ramping golem down. Afterward, the Researcher departed back to his world while Nekonyan stayed behind with Pantagruel until he died of natural causes, leaving her all alone until she met Alec and Vera.
In a post-credit scene, it is revealed that, while the class was away, Otto Suwen and Garfiel Tinsel transferred in, much to Subaru's chagrin. Roswaal then states that their "school life will continue".
