Popular! Online Game (流行!おんらいんげーむ Ninkinoaru! Onraingēmu) is the eighth episode of Isekai Quartet 3. It was first broadcasted on December 1, 2025.

Summary[]

In class, Subaru notes that Kazuma has been absent for four days, causing the others to grow concerned. A sleep-deprived Kazuma then comes in, dragged along by Megumin. However, having fulfilled his promise to "come to school", he immediately turns to leave again, forcing Megumin to literally drag him inside. After Kazuma complains about missing the "special event", Ainz deduces that he is playing "Jörmguld", causing Kazuma to realize that the overlord plays it as well.

After class, Kazuma naps in the nurse's office to make up for his sleep deprivation while Megumin, Ainz, Naofumi, Shalltear, and Rem watch over him. When Shalltear asks what Jörmguld is, Ainz explains that it is a newly-released MMORPG. Megumin notes that Ainz is more responsible than Kazuma, since he still attends class despite playing it himself, but the latter claims it is because he is a never-sleeping undead. This causes Kazuma to jump awake and complain about Ainz's "unfair advantage". However, Naofumi then reveals that he plays Jörmguld as well but still comes to school despite barely sleeping, much to Kazuma and Ainz's shock.

Once Kazuma recovers a bit, he, Ainz, and Naofumi discuss the game and their avatars. Since Naofumi's character has a japanese aesthetic, Ainz brings up Jörmguld's miko outfits. However, Naofumi reveals that he does not use them, since they "reminds him of someone". Raphtalia and Filo then come in to get Naofumi for lunch, prompting to Shield Hero to take his leave. Afterward, however, Kazuma notes that Raphtalia would look good in a miko outfit, prompting Naofumi to come back in and intimidate him into not bringing it up again. Once Naofumi leaves again, the others wonder what has him so upset, and Shalltear presents a theory: he once tried forcing Raphtalia to cosplay as a miko, but she ended up getting angry. As the other girls call him a "pervert", Naofumi then once again comes back and says that is not what happened.

The next day, Jörmguld has caught on even more amongst the class, with Aqua and Grantz now playing it as well. However, Aura and Garfiel do not understand the appeal, since they prefer "playing with monsters" in real life, even though Otto tells them not to. Aura then notes that Darkness falls into this category as well, since she likes monsters hitting her, much to her embarrassment.

Later, while traversing the hallway, Puck questions Ainz about the appeal of Jörmguld. In response, the overlord calls the game as "pretty good" but not as good of YGGDRASIL before going on a tangent about how much better the latter game is, though Puck does not follow.

Another day later, Weiss, Koenig, and Neumann are now also sleep-deprived Jörmguld addicts, and Kazuma, Megumin, Aqua, and Grantz are not even attending class anymore. Though not wishing to interfere in the students' personal lives, Erich concludes that this has stop and holds a special session with Class 2 to discuss a solution. When asked for her opinion as class representative, Emilia proposes limiting playtime to an hour-per-day. However, Koenig and Neumann argue that is too short. Nonetheless, Erich tells the students to moderate between the game and real life, and they reluctantly agree.

That night, however, Erich grows curious about what the fuss about the game is for and subsequently begins playing it himself. As a result, over the next few days, he has started suffering from sleep deprivation himself, barely getting through his lectures at school. Conversely, Kazuma has recovered to the point that he is attending classes again, and he, Ainz, and Naofumi all agree to meet up in Jörmguld that evening with a new player who goes by the username "Honey Please".

That night, Kazuma, Ainz, and Naofumi meet in Jörmguld as their avatars; "TANAKA", "Musasabi", and "Nyao". However, Honey is yet to arrive, causing them to talk about them and how quickly they rose through the ranks. TANAKA wonders if Honey has a job in real life, but Musasabi doubts it, since they should not have so much playtime then. Honey then logs in and greets everyone, unaware that their computer's camera is on, revealing that he is really Erich. As the others react with stunned silence, Honey asks what is wrong. In response, the others turn on their cameras, revealing their identities. His students having discovered that he is secretly a Jörmguld addict himself, Honey gets embarrassed and logs out.

Elsewhere, at the park, the huge flowers that the class planted there earlier are starting to mutate.
