Inspector is the tentative name of an official from the Free City of Vadis.

No information is given on his appearance, though his clothes had breast pockets.
Personality[]
The man was shown to be experience ins making expeditions in the Katze Plains as he didn’t show any signs of fear upon setting in foot the dangerous area. Nevertheless, the Inspector valued his own life and was not inclined to assist workers he accompanied or even if they died.
Background[]
The man was a priest who had the job of inspector in Vadis. The job of an Inspector was to count the number of undead defeated on the Katze Plains and to guarantee that the corresponding subjugation fee was properly paid.
Chronology[]
The Phantom Ship of Katze Plains Arc[]

The Inspector along with four porters accompanied the worker team of Fist from the Free City of Vadis to the Katze Plains. En-route through the plains, the party was attacked by six Grave Dead. In response the Inspector and the four porters assembled in a defensive circle with him in the middle, while allowing the workers to fight the undead. After battle, the Inspector was impressed by the short work the veterans made of the undead. Seeing that the immediate area was safe for now, the Inspector recorded the workers kills with his writing tools.
Antwali took the opportunity to ask the Inspector what the fate will before the Free City, now that the Sorcerer Kingdom had annexed the Katze Plains. The Inspector told the leader of Fist and his deputy, Bunaz that the annexation had been a turbulent for the higher-ups. Naturally it was expected that there would be a withdrawal of support for Vadis as it would now be under the control of the Sorcerer Kingdom, which is ruled by the undead.
Though it still left a quandary on whether the powers that be would stay and fight or withdraw, whichever decision would still be benefiting the undead. The priest supposed that in the event of the temples wanting to cut ties with Vadis will bring them rebuke from the people for abandoning their duty in the cursed land. He did confirm that the rumors circulating in the Free City, that the Re-Estize Kingdom and Baharuth Empire were withdrawing monetary support for the city, leaving only the temples to fund the undead subjugations but the operation costs was difficult even with the power of the temples.
The Inspector predicted a reduction in bounties on the undead which would cause workers to leave the city for better opportunities. If that happened the Inspector guessed that the undead subjugations would be less successful and that stronger undead might make more appearances leading to the point where the Free City will have to be abandoned. Though ultimately the Free City of Vadis would make its decision on its future after the intentions of the Sorcerer Kingdom intentions were made clear.
The conversation of the vague future was not really assuring to the workers, who believed that the current undead subjugation would be their last one. TO change the subject and focus on the task at head, Bunaz invited everyone to resume their journey to Broken Tower 1.[1]
When the undead subjugation team approached the Broken Tower, the workers sensed something was amiss when they saw that neither flags of the tower's occupancy and undead danger were raised. It was later determined that it had been attacked by the undead and the previous two teams that were there had been slaughtered.
The workers approached the tower still as to take care of the dead and burials. Once the site was deemed safe, the Inspector and porters were directed to stay inside the tower whilst the workers took care of things.[2] The tower though came under attack by three Skeletal Dragons. Fist and their associates were nearly annihilated, but were saved thanks to the arrival of the adventurers from Darkness.
Once the undead dragons were slayed, Fist decided to retreat back to Vadis, calling out to the Inspector and porters to come out.[3]
Abilities and Powers[]
As a priest, the Inspector was probably capable of using magic. Though as an inspector its use was beyond his scope for his job as he was only meant to observe, report and return to the safety of the Free City if the warriors he accompanied were killed. He also carried sheet of heavy-duty paper, a portable ink jar, and a feather pen.
Main Equipment[]
- Holy Symbol
Trivia[]
- Most inspectors were retired adventurers, former nobility (or those who were unable to inherit the family title) of the Baharuth Empire and the Re-Estize Kingdom, and priests.
Quotes[]
- (To Fist after defeating the Grave Dead): “Magnificent… or would it be rude to all of you veteran Workers for me to say that, I wonder?”
