Ghost Ships (幽霊船) or Phantom Ships are infamous derelict vessels that haunt the New World.

Background

Ghost Ships are a type of undead, that according to old stories by sailors, appear out of the fog. Supposedly, they are ships that should have sunk, but sail once more on thin air, helmed by the undead.

Abilities

Normally, they are encountered in areas that have large bodies of water such as the sea or a large lake. However, the one that originated from the Katze Plains is considered to be a unique case due to appearing so far inland without any large source of water body near it.

In regards how an undead ship can perceive, it is suspected that it's perception works similar to some monsters that can sense vibrations to understand their surroundings.

• The arrival of a Ghost Ship is heralded by a thick fog.
• In YGGDRASIL, a Ghost Ship did exist, though the only reason the dilapidated ship was floating on the surface of the sea was because of the boss's ability. Once defeated the boss was defeated, the Ghost Ship would sink instantly.
• After discovering Steel Valkyrie in the Katze Plains, Ainz suspects that there may be other Ghost Ships in the plains, and resolved to return one day with Demiurge and Cocytus to assist him in the search.
