Fishing Rod (釣り竿) is an item from Mass for the Dead and one of the Seven Lucky God Key Items.
Description[]
This item was awarded by Aura Bella Fiora and Mare Bello Fiore, alongside the cane, to Momonga and Shiro after the former lost a hanetsuki match. The fishing rod was actually an item associated with the Seven Lucky Gods and a fragment of Shiramochi-ō's power.[1]
When New Year's Day came again, the fishing rod along with the cane re-manifested after Shiro won a game of hanetsuki against Aura and Mare in the Amphitheater. Upon receiving the items, the Ruler of New Year absorbed them into his being to reclaim his lost power for the eventual confrontation with the new White Mochi King.[2]
And it re-appeared in the proceeding New Year's when Nazarick hosted a party in the Amphitheater for all of its affiliates. The item manifested after a calligraphy battle between Albedo and Shiro.[3]
Appearance[]
A orange bamboo fishing pole with a black handle.
Abilities[]
Momonga upon using [Appraisal Magic Item] was unable to find any credible information, an oddity as the spell usually discloses some information on an item's properties.
Trivia[]
- The fishing rod is associated with Ebisu, the Japanese god of wealth.
- It later appeared after Shiro played a game of hanetsuki with Aura and Mare.[4]
