Ninya (ニニャ) was a silver ranked adventurer, magic caster, and strategist of the Swords of Darkness. Her dream was to get one the swords of darkness, but she prioritized finding her older sister, who was taken by a noble.

Appearance

Ninya had brown hair and blue eyes with a face that looked childish, the best looking face of the group. Her skin was pale and wore leather clothes.

Personality

Ninya was described as a humble and good person within the Swords of Darkness. Despite her good personality, she had a strong hatred to nobles, as her older sister was taken by a noble when she was a mere villager, which is why she was dedicated to become a stronger adventurer and bring her back.

Background

Ninya was just a villager girl in a certain village. When their parents passed away, she and her older sister relied on each other for their survival. When her older sister was taken away by a noble, she felt useless and decided to become an adventurer, so that she can bring her back. She joined the Swords of Darkness as the strategist and magic caster in the group.

Chronology

The Dark Warrior Arc

Main article: The Dark Warrior Arc

Ninya and her teammates see Momon and Nabe, who is attempting to procure a job and to let both teams work together. However, the pharmacist's grandson Nfirea Bareare comes to make a direct request of Momon. In the end, a compromise is made as Nfirea agrees to take both parties as his bodyguard.

As they travel to Carne Village, the party is attacked by a large group of goblins and ogres. A battle plan is devised quickly, with Ninya and her teammates facing off the goblins while Momon and Nabe would eliminate the ogres. As the fight proceeds, She quickly realizes that their companions are no mere adventurers. She looks upon the two with awe, comparing their strength to the heroes of legend.

The journey proceeds smoothly after the encounter, but things are amiss as Nfirea realizes Carne Village is more fortified than usual. Sensing that something is wrong, Ninya and her teammates advance cautiously but are ambushed by a large group of goblins, stronger than before. However, no fight breaks out as the goblins tell them that they don't want to fight. In fact, it turns out that they are protecting the village under Enri Emmot's orders.

After completing the request, Ninya and her teammates leave with Nfirea to his house to collect the reward. However, a sinister presence is already there, waiting for them. Ninya and Nfirea attempt to escape but their way out is blocked by Khajiit Dale Badantel. Ninya and her teammates are killed by the hands of Clementine.

The Men in the Kingdom Arc

When Ainz meets Tuareninya and realized her relationship with Ninya he decided to put her under his protection as a way of repaying the debt he felt that he owed to Ninya.

Upon hearing Evileye asking Lakyus if Dark energy from the Demonic Sword Kilineyram can hurt the demons Ainz remembered hearing about the Demonic Sword from Ninya.

The Craftsman of Dwarf Arc

Before going to reclaim Feo Berkana from the Quagoa and Frost Dragons Ainz remembered that Ninya said that she would help him learn more about the Dragons and thought it was a shame that she died.

Mass for the Dead Arc

A half a year after the event known as the Catastrophe that saw the emergence of the Cracks and appearance of the Chaos Beasts and Contaminated Beasts, Ninya traveled with his team to collect herbs in the Great Forest of Tob. While heading to the nearby settlement of Carne Village, her team rescued a little girl named Nemu Emmot who was fleeing to get help to save the village from Chaos Beasts. The adventurers journeyed with her to the village to save what was left when they met the protagonist, Surako and Narberal Gamma. The two groups then decided to help one another and Ninya and her team provided information on the current situation of the world.

Together they managed to drive the Chaos Beasts and Contaminated Beasts off, when the members of the Sunlight Scripture led by Ian Als Heim arrived. Though the Scripture was not originally here to evacuate the villagers but on their own secret mission, Ian agreed to left some of his men to escort the villagers to safety to the city of E-Rantel. But the Scripture guides could depart, Ninya and her friends went into the forest to search for the missing Enri Emmot, Nemu's sister, and Morgan. However it was too late for Enri as she was killed by a Quadruped Chaos Beast. The adventurers and Nazarick agents then traveled back to the village to bury her remains. Ninya comforted Nemu on her sister's death and would part ways with the protagonist as she and her team would help the Scripture escort the villagers to the city. While traveling with the refugees, the convoy was attacked by a Giant Chaos Beast. Ninya and her friends were nearly killed when the protagonist and his friends came to the rescue and managed to defeat it.

Later while resting in the Adventurer's Guild in E-Rantel, Ninya and her team talked about a rumor on the location of one of the Swords of Darkness belonging to the Black Knight. The discussion attracted the attention of Lakyus Alvein Dale Aindra who wanted to seek out the sword which was suspected to be Hyumilis. Even though adamantite adventurer explained that only she could safely wield it, the Swords of Darkness joined her and Gagaran on the quest to see the legendary weapon. In the end though it turned out to be just a monster infesting a magic sword. Ninya would encounter the protagonist, Narberal and Slimeko again in E-Rantel, searching for information on the hauntings around the vicinity of the Tob Forests. Ninya's team provided their assistance by telling Narberal about the Harvest Festival and its significance.

A couple of weeks after Jaldabaoth attacked E-Rantel, Ninya came with the Swords of Darkness to E-Rantel after her leader accepted an invitation from the protagonist to attend an adventurer tournament to raise the spirits of the city after the traumatizing attack. A day before the start of the event she reunited with the protagonist and Surako at the city square.

Ninya's team were up in the second match of the tournament where they were scheduled to fight against the adamantite adventurer Soi. However she made a change in the match to have the Swords of Darkness fight against her friends Shall and Ku. The sliver ranked team were defeated by the duo much to her team's shock. Ninya and with her team spent most of the tournament cheering on the newcomers in their matches. At the final match, to give the resident of the city a good show, the Swords of Darkness joined the other adventurers in fighting against the Dark Warrior.

During the phenomenon that caused the land around E-Rantel to be bathed in a continuous day, Ninya was in the city with his team. At the guild he and the Sword of Darkness met up with Darkness to discuss what could be the cause of the extended day. Ninya told the protagonist that whatever was making the day last longer was not a natural occurrence. As for what she believed caused it, the only magic that she knew of capable of something close to it was [Control Weather], but even that 6th tier spell had limits. So she postulated that she heard from her master that there were places in the world that possessed unusual phenomena and what they were experiencing could be something similar. After Clementine came over to ask the protagonist and his team to attend a consultation meeting to address the strange event, Ninya and her team offered to help by gathering information from the other adventurers.

Ninya and her team saw the protagonist and Surako at the Adventurer's Guild where the establishment was busy selling chocolates and "Dark Warrior" theme dolls. Ninya was revealed to have an entire collection to her embarrassment. Later Ninya was present at the guild to collect a new product line of dolls based on the members of Blue Roses.

She and her team were later seen at the guild in E-Rantel, receiving their reward after a job. Included in the reward was their chocolate and card souvenirs for Great Adventurers for a good job. Ninya while an avid collector of the dolls of the guild, found the cards to be neat and though of them as amulets. Later the magic caster and her team were approached by the protagonist and Surako to ask what kind of improvements could be made to the current chocolate candy. Ninya suggested that it would be more convenient for the candies to be cut into smaller pieces as then a little could be eaten at a time. However the concurrent problem was that the pieces would then easily melt. The protagonist though promised a solution would be found for the new product which Ninya hoped to try next time her team were in the city.

Ninya and her team were interviewed by Soi and Narberal for the upcoming development of "chilled chocolate". For Ninya she was interested in the notion that changing the temperature of food can make it taste different and would like to try it no matter what it is. A few days later the Chilled Chocolate Confectionary was released in E-Rantel, Ninya tried it with her friends and found it to be delicious, and unlike anything she tasted.

At the time when E-Rantel was facing an unprecedented crisis of several Cracks opening within its walls, Ninya along with the Swords of Darkness stood at the city's defense. While trying to fend off the Chaos Beasts, Ninya's party managed to find Nemu in the chaos and placed her under their protection. The adventurers took arms to defend the city and even though the odds were stacked against them they maintained hope that the protagonist would come through for them. However the team was met by a wave of invisible attacks from an unknown enemy that picked them off one by one causing them to vanish into thin air with Ninya being fourth to be attacked.

Months later after the disaster, Ninya survived her ordeal, though found herself to be the only one left of the Swords of Darkness, the rest having vanished after they were attacked by the invisible menace. Her comrades gone, the Swords of Darkness were not defunct. Ninya took Nemu under her wing as the girl lost her guardian, Lizzie Bareare in the disaster.

Despite the loss, Ninya was met with good fortune as she reunited with her older sister, who was in E-Rantel. The sisters now happily reunited, gave Ninya the option of quitting the life of an adventurer, though Ninya was on the fence on this decision and needed sometime to think. In the mean time she decided to help support her sister. She met with the protagonist out in the streets of E-Rantel, who she approached and informed of her situation before heading off to figure her life's course.

Soon after Ninya heard that the people who were presumed dead during the disaster were actually still alive on the "other side", and took it upon herself to join the Four Kingdoms Rescue Team led by the Warrior Captain. Ninya was determined to not just rescue her teammates but also search for Lizzie on Nemu's behalf. Upon entering the Crack, Ninya found the sleeping bodies of her comrades, who she revived using spare adaptive equipment and tearfully welcomed them back.

Later the rescue team rushed back to E-Rantel after receiving word from the Sorcerer Kingdom that enormous amounts of miasma were spilling in from Cracks in every major city in the Tripartite Alliance. Since their unit was the only military force in the area, the joint international force hurried to the alliance's capital to save what they could.

At E-Rantel, Ninya expressed her disbelief at seeing the city in ruins and the people driven to madness. After Sebas gave them some words to steel themselves for the fight ahead, Ninya took them to heart.

Abilities and Powers

Ninya was famous as a magic genius and dubbed "Spellcaster" due to her proficiency at learning and casting spells. It is stated that, had she grown up, she might have achieved hero-level powers and rivaled the great magic casters of the Baharuth Empire. Despite being a child, she could use 2nd Tier magic.

Active

• Magic Arrow: A 1st tier spell, that shoots light arrows against a target.
• Reinforce Armor: A spell that raises the target's defense.

Passive

• Magic Aptitude: Ninya's innate talent, that allows her to learn spells faster than normal humans. For example, a spell that would normally take eight years to learn can be mastered in four.

Relationships

Tuareninya Veyron

They were good sisters in a certain village. Their parents passed away when they were young, but they survived by relying on each other. After her older sister was taken, she decided to become an adventurer to save her.

As seen where Tuare herself admitted that one of the only things she wanted to do outside of staying by Sebas's side and her one remaining tie to the human world was her desire to see her sister Ninya once more, showing how she fully reciprocated the love and loyalty Ninya has for her.

Momon

Like the others in her group, she was impressed with Momon's skill. When Momon told her nostalgia for his old comrades, she encouraged that he would find comrades like that again. However, her words of comfort annoyed him, stating that a time like that would never come. She is saddened that she upset him, and wanted to make amends, but never had the chance before she was murdered by Clementine.

Peter Mauk

Peter is the leader of the Swords of Darkness and kept calling Ninya with her title despite her feeling embarrassed about it. Like the rest of the Swords of Darkness, he was willing to fight Clementine and use himself as a decoy to give Ninya some time to run.

Lukrut Volve

A friend of Ninya and a fellow member of the Swords of Darkness. Like the rest of the Swords of Darkness, he was willing to fight Clementine and use himself as a decoy to give Ninya some time to run.

Dyne Woodwonder

Dyne is a close friend with Ninya and encourages her not to be embarrassed when her dream to find the swords of darkness which their group was named after and continue to follow her dream. Like the rest of the Swords of Darkness, he was willing to fight Clementine and use himself as a decoy to give Ninya some time to run.

• In the Web Novel, Ninya was a male and never got killed by Clementine.
• Also in the Web Novel, Ninya was known to use up to 35 different spells.
• Ninya's older sister, Tuare had become a slave and one of her goals in life was to find and save her. Sadly, she did not live long enough to see her being free.
• Ninya is a woman, who dressed up like a man. Also her name 'Ninya' is an assumed name, following Tuare's full name, "Tuareninya Veyron."
• In Mass for the Dead, her true name is revealed to be Celicia Veyron or "Celi" for short by her sister.
