Festive Magical Golem (祝祭彩る魔導のゴーレム) is a game event in Mass for the Dead that was released on February 21, 2025 to March 7, 2025.

Background[]

After the signing of the Quadripartite Alliance, a festival was held in E-Rantel. As preparations were underway to bring hope to the people, an unexpected request was made to the Sorcerer Kingdom by the Adventurer's Guild...

The time has come to put to good use the relics of their former comrades, the Supreme Beings...[1]

Incident[]

On a pleasant sunny afternoon at the E-Rantel Adventurer's Guild, the protagonist was talking with Guildmaster Pluton Ainzach. Their conversation initially starts with the nice weather by Ainzach who senses as one gets older, the cold affects the body. Thus he wishes for it to get warmer soon. But even if that happens he muses that there will still be problems. On what kind of problems, he reveals to the protagonist that dormant monsters will awaken and become more active when it gets warmer. It only compounds the problems for the adventurers as now have more monsters to deal with, as they also have to keep an eye on the Cracks.

The protagonist notes that lately, the city has been using adventurers to help harvest the vegetables that are available this time of year, so it may result in a shortage of adventurers. Ainzach worries that if people put in a request there might be no one to take the job which may ruin the reputation of the guild.

On another topic, the protagonist asks how effective the Chocolate Cup that was held in the Baharuth Empire was a while ago. The guildmaster reports that it was a great success. Back on the topic for the guild, Ainzach adds that he is assigning copper ranked adventurers to help with the vegetable harvesting. The idea is for the best, though Ainzach feels it may be a bit unrewarding to the rookie adventurers. While it's true that helping out in the fields is not the glamorous work those who came to E-Rantel, admiring the battles of the adventurers, they are still being trained.

Ainzach says that this is just him talking to himself, but he has an idea of holding a festival during the harvest season to celebrate the unity of the nations and restoration of E-Rantel. The protagonist thinks that this would make the adventurers toiling in the field less likely to complain. Ainzach agrees it's a simple answer. Since its going to be a celebration of unity of all nations means that the protagonist is expected to act as a diplomat for the Sorcerer Kingdom, but he is concerned that holding a grand, national festival would draw too many people to E-Rantel. There is a possibility that disasters will strike in densely populated areas or so Ainzach thinks. Also, with so many people still trapped in the Cracks, it may be inappropriate for the country to celebrate something right now. Especially since the Re-Estize Kingdom is in mourning for the death of Ramposa III.

The protagonist also remembers that the nation is also still taking preparing for the coronation ceremony and the like. The guildmaster understands that there will be conflicts, but he finds it stressful when they can't openly celebrate the signing of the Quadripartite Alliance or the harvest. The homunculus suggests he tell that to the royal family of the Re-Estize Kingdom. The idea is taken apprehensively by Ainzach, as he is not anti-royal or anything, his dissatisfaction is just a citizen's complaint, a grumble. As he said at the beginning, this was just him talking to himself.

Well, if it's something on a medium scale that can provide some comfort to the city's residents and the adventurers who support them, and give them some hope, then the protagonist thinks he can help. Ainzach is glad he is onboard, relieved actually as he feels guilty about last time in having to ask him for help after Osk suddenly asked and he was pushed into it.

The protagonist thinks that though reconstruction is progressing, the population is still thinned out. With Nazarick's military power concentrated too much, he becomes worried that Nazarick will become the new target of the Cracks. Thus he needs to think about increasing the population of E-Rantel and other cities a bit more. Since worrying over food shortages keeps women from getting pregnant, this festival might be a good opportunity to amend it. This makes him wonder perhaps this idea was not Ainzach's, but the consensus of the local residents. Or maybe Panasolei Gruze Day Rettenmaier, E-Rantel's mayor, consulted this with Ainzach.

This makes the protagonist to find it odd that Ainzach would go out of his way to say something like "celebrating the signing of the Quadripartite Alliance." But maybe the guildmaster thought it wise to go along with it and sacrifice the land E-Rantel sits in the name of prosperity. So the protagonist agrees to the festival, for the sake of everyone's hopes.

Ainzach is happy at this, having knew his colleague would say that, before confessing that actually...the mayor and the people in the shopping district asked him to explain it to the protagonist so that the festival could definitely be held. The protagonist understands though that Ainzach kept it a secret because he thought it would be easier for him to talk about if the guildmaster pretended to be the one who came up with the idea since they are close friends.

Ainzach is humored that the protagonist saw through the ploy. The homunculus decides to leave it at that. But to himself wonders did Ainzach reveal the existence of the mayor and the shopping district people when he was vague about their involvement at the beginning. This leads back to the current trend of emphasizing Ainzach's intimacy with the protagonist. The point of emphasizing something like that in a negotiation is probably just to preface a request that is more difficult. In other words a prelude to a main request. And sure enough the guilmaster asks the protagonist, who as a diplomat from the Sorcerer Kingdom, he'd like him to listen to one more monologue. And so, after engaging in Ainsach's "soliloquy" for a while, the protagonist set off on a journey back to the Great Tomb of Nazarick.

Much later, in the Round Table Room, on the 9th Floor of Nazarick, Momonga and the Floor Guardians were receiving a report from the protagonist who had returned from E-Rantel. In the repot, there is a request from E-Rantel for guards other than the undead to be present at the festival. Momonga mentally can understand the desire to at least eliminate the undead from the area around the shopping district that sells food and drink...as he is sure there are people who don't like eating next to corpses.

The protagonist excusing his rudeness to Momonga, confirms this as he replies that the humans in E-Rantel are concerned that the presence of the undead "might take away the appetite of the participants", which could affect the excitement of the festival and sales. Shalltear finds the demand of the humans to be insulting, which Aura agrees given how Momonga has taken great care to ensure their safety.

And while that is true, Shalltear thinks things get a lot more exciting when the undead are present as a "side dish." In response to that vulgar comment, Demiurge requests that they can cease talking about irrelevant things for now. On a related topic, Shalltear asks Demiurge if Momonga's presence affect his appetite? The demon answers that it has no effect on him whatsoever. However, to Shalltear, he wonders if it's appropriate to compare Momonga with the undead guarding E-Rantel. Albedo pitches in that she never thought that the vampire would consider low-level undead to be on the same level as Momonga, which Mare think it's kind of a bit, well, disrespectful. Shalltear objects, as what she said is not what she meant. Cocytus unamused calls for order to the meeting as they are being rude to their master who is present.

Momonga finally speaks up, grateful for Shalltear's support, but he can fully understand the sentiment of not being able to eat next to the undead. For the request by the humans, Momonga doesn't mind if the protagonist temporarily moves the undead for the festival. That said, the protagonist will arrange for the undead to retreat from areas that handle food. However, he has one concern regarding security. He is asked Momonga to elaborate, and the protagonist tells his master that he heard that skilled adventurers such as Blue Roses will be joining the security force through the Adventurer's Guild, but since they can't let their guard down against the Cracks. If they eliminate the undead guards, they may run out of fighting power in the food area.

Momonga muses that it seems they can't just let the undead retreat. With security being lax and the population concentrated during the festival, it would be troubling if they were attacked and the population decreased. It would be a waste if that city were to no longer fulfilling its role as a sacrifice to protect Nazarick. Even if Narberal were to join in on the security and the adventurers Shall and Soi they are suppose to have no connection to the Sorcerer Kingdom at all. The same goes for Lupusregina and CZ who are also workers operating for the Baharuth Empire. If that's the case, it seems that it won't be easy to come up with a solution to increase security from the Sorcerer Kingdom.

That being said, Demiurge points out that they would be in danger of being underestimated if they did not offer some sort of alternative. There is no way they would think that the Sorcerer Kingdom is full of strong people and that there are no suitable weaklings. Momonga wonders if they were to find someone else who could act as a guard from Nazarick without scaring the humans., but who would be suitable?

In terms of numbers and cost alone, Mare thinks that Kyouhukou's minions would be the best, but sadly they can't provide security. Even if they could provide security, Aura states that they would look worse than the undead. Shalltear comments that those minions would surely impact a person's appetite. Albedo asks if there are any more ideas. Cocytus has none, believing he would need to retire to his home to think on this.

Demiurge believes that is a good idea, and suggests that they all bring in the people they will be recommending later and hold a competition to discuss the candidates. The idea is well received by Momonga and gives the command for his Floor Guardians to each investigate whether there are any good candidates on their own floors. And then they'll all gather at the 6th Floor Amphitheater.[2]

Later in the bathtub provided in the Supreme Being's room, Miyoshi was busily washing Momonga's body. The Overlord is enjoying his bathing session, finding that the Sapphire Slime is hitting the right spots on his skeletal body. His mind is drawn to the upcoming festival in E-Rantel. To be honest, there's almost nothing left to learn about Cracks and the Devourer of the Nine Worlds from the humans. To Momonga it seems that after the contamination is removed, humans can act as a decoys against the Chaos Beasts, and if another disaster were to occur, the chances of Nazarick being attacked would be reduced if humans thrived.

Momonga has been told those working outside that cooperation is essential to prosperity, and thus he will continue to cooperate...but what really interests him now are the other worlds. Even so, the Sorcerer Kingdom can't cut off the source of foreign currency income for the operations of the nation, and they can't give up the decoys of Nazarick. They need to work hard on what's in front of them.

As for guarding the festival, Momonga wonders who would actually be suitable. Looking at Miyoshi, Momonga notes that humans are familiar with Sanitary Slimes, so why not use slimes? This brings to mind of Bukubukuchagama and Herohero, who Momonga remembers to be excellent slimes, one being a tank and another an expert in destroying equipment and can even detect motion. So Momonga decides to propose this idea at the Amphitheater.

Meanwhile, Aura and Mare were eyeing potential candidates on the 6th Floor, aways outside the Amphitheater. Aura is confident that their candidates are the most suitable for replacing the undead at E-Rantel. Given that Shalltear's place is full of undead, and Demiurge's place is full of demons. Before the selection of candidates the twins head out to the Crack to defeat the Chaos Beasts.

At the appointed time, the Guardians and their selected candidates gathered. Momonga address everyone, thanking them for gathering at this time. Though noting some of them may think that guarding humans is just a waste, by allowing the humans to prosper it enables them to maintain the peace of Nazarick. Thus for the sake of Nazarick's decoys and for the sake of Nazarick's finances, he hopes that they will do their best.

The competition then beings, with entry number one, being provided by Shalltear who recommends is the Vampire Brides. Two Vampire Brides appear declaring that they will work diligently to ensure that no humans ever die, even if you ask them to Die, promising to keep healing themselves with items and such. Momonga seeing this is stunned as this is not exactly what he wants them to do, finding it to be unsettling. Shalltear though thinks her vampires are the best candidates to replace the undead at E-Rantel, due to their disposable and being no great loss to Nazarick, and more than anything, it would add a touch of glamour to the festival!

Aura admits that their appearance is almost the same as a human, but if one were to get injured if somebody sees the vampire regenerate, they'd realize it is an undead, which humans would find is unpleasant. It would be putting the cart before the horse. And while the Vampire Brides might not have much of an effect on people's appetite, Momonga supposes that they should probably avoid using undead for now at the festival. Demiurge finds it a shame that people think the undead are the only fighting force in the Sorcerer Kingdom. After deeming the Vampire Bride as unfit for the role, Shalltear is disappointed but her spirits are raised up when Momonga consoles her, telling her he looks forward to her success as Shall.

The protagonist the announces entry two, being from Aura and Mare. The candidates we would like to propose are Spear Needles. Three Spear Needle kits are presented to the small audience. The kits are found to be cute by Momonga. Aura explains that if humans are scared of the undead, she and her brother thought it was a good idea to have cute animal-like creatures instead. Mare adds that if the Spear Needle are fully grown they would be level 67, which would be a disaster in a human city, but kits aren't that strong, so he wonders what will happen.

Demiurge believes it could work, as the Spear Needle may be an unfamiliar monster to the local people, if it is a tamed, and introduced as gentle monsters that live near the Sorcerer Kingdom, they probably won't be put off by it.

Even from a human perspective, the protagonist agrees as the Spear Needle seems like the kind of monster that would be perceived as "cute." Albedo advises that using the monster could imply to the other nations that the Sorcerer Kingdom has a fairly large amount of land, and that it is not a country close to E-Rantel. According to Demiurge, people have always wondered where the country is located, so showing it to have a different ecosystem than the E-Rantel area would be a positive thing. Momonga decides to rank the Spear Needle as their first choice much to Aura and Mare.

The is entry number three from Cocytus. Momonga assumes it will be the Frost Virgin. But to his surprise Zaryusu appears. Cocytus explains he was wondering about what candidate to propose thus he asked the lizardman to volunteer. Zaryusu was initially preparing to go to the isolated island, but noticed that Cocytus seemed to be pondering something, so after he spoke to him learned of the competition. The lizardman thought this would be an opportunity to be of some help to the Sorcerer Kingdom, which has always been so kind to his kind.

Momonga appreciates his spirit----however, the Overlord believes Zaryusu wasn't able to enter E-Rantel before. Zaryusu had previously gone to E-Rantel to ask for help but was turned away, but now that the Sorcerer Kingdom had lowered the aversion to demi-humans, the traveler wanted to cherish any opportunity to interact with humans. Momonga finds his reason for applying is quite good.

Demiurge feels the level comparison may be a little disappointing. Aura then asks Zaryusu if he could try playing against the Spear Needle. Zaryusu does not might. Mare is worried that someone might die, which Zaryusu states that it will be fine, promising not to kill the Spear Needle. Though Albedo clarifies that it is Zaryusu who doesn't seem to understand, it's not the Spear Needle kit that they are worried about dying soon, it's him.

Momonga tells Zaryusu his offer was very pleasant, but stupid as he is putting the lizardmen, with whom the Sorcerer Kingdom have built a friendly relationship, in danger. Zaryusu is ashamed of himself, that something as cute as a Spear Needle could potentially kill him. Cocytus in a sympathetic voice tells him there's no need to push himself as he is grateful for the lizardman's thoughtfulness. Zaryusu still finds it embarrassing that he doesn't have enough training to compete with the beasts trained by the talented people of the Sorcerer Kingdom. Cocytus he will be back when they need him which is enough for the lizardman.

After Zaryusu steps off from the stage, Shalltear notes that leaves just Demiurge and Albedo. Mare wonders what people the two will propose. Aura is worried as the two are the real deal when it comes to intelligence. Entry four, being Demiurge is call to the stage. Demiurge walks out into arena and calls for his candidates to come step out. Albedo assumes Demiurge will recommend the best under his command. If that's the case...the three Evil Lords should be excluded, as they are like symbols of fear when Jaldabaoth attacked E-Rantel. Similarly, the Abyss Demon is also a symbol of fear. In the end Albedo has no idea who her colleague will recommend.

When Albedo says the last part aloud, she is surprised that it's something that even she can't think of. At first Albedo thinks Demiurge doesn't have anyone suitable for this mission. Until Aura sees three silhouettes approaching through the Amphitheater passage.[3]

Demiurge soon uveils his candidates which turn out to be a trio of Manservants who salute before the assembly. Albedo, Aura and Mare are all stunned, finding this does not feel right, defies sensibilities and being of poor taste. Momonga doesn't think this a great idea either, but the one who came up with it was Demiurge, so he feels it's dangerous to give a bad opinion.

Demiurge can see that they are all confused, so he will explain why he recommended the Manservants. While he was wondering who to choose, the dem saw Éclair Éklair Éklare at the Bar and it hit him: shouldn't appearance be the most important thing?

Albedo still questions if they look good enough to be security personnel. Demiurge believes so, as their attire is fairly appropriate, and the strange noises they make will let others know that security is present, which will act as a crime deterrent. Shalltear likens it being like the places where criminals try to hide their voices and can't be heard? Since there are only ten of them, there are only a limited number of places the Manservants can be stationed, and the strange noises also allow criminals to know where the guards are.

If someone is going to commit a crime, they will naturally target the blind spots of security, so if you place Shadow Demons in those places, criminals can be dealt with in any way they like. Shalltear finds it a little unfair, though Cocytus thinks it is the best way to respond to requests.

Éclair is noticed by Aura to be present prompting him to speak. That this is a good opportunity to make his servants understand how to treat humans! For when he eventually rules Nazarick, he will naturally be running E-Rantel as well! Sadly none of the Floor Guardians take him seriously. And even Albedo think it would be more beneficial to incur new debts from humans than to be indebt to Éclair much to the penguin's distress.

Albedo, as the head of the Floor Guardians, was simply expressing her honest thoughts about the management of Nazarick. So there's no need or the penguin to be so upset. Well, Éclair expected as much from the Overseer Guardian., adding that she is doing her duty of calmly assessing the management of Nazarick without letting personal feelings get in the way. And that when he becomes the ruler of Nazarick, he will be happy to make her his subordinate.—

Ignoring the boast of the troublemaker for now, Albedo asks if Éclair truly wishes to assume the role in E-Rantel, as if combat becomes necessary, the Shadow Demons will fight for him. The penguin does not shy from such a duty. Momonga though passes Éclair and the Manservants for the guard position at E-Rantel. Certainly, as Demiurge said, selecting people based on appearance seems like a good idea for the humans, but when one adds not only Manservants but also the Shadow Demons——-it would require a double allocation of Nazarick's resources. In that case, a young Spear Needle kit that could act as a guard on its own would be a better choice.

Albedo likes to make a suggestion for the role and everyone is eager to see who the Overseer Guardian chose. The person Albedo recommends is someone on this floor. Momonga assumes she is talking about herself, as the Prime Minister of the Sorcerer Kingdom, she would be going as well to the festival, and with Aura and Mare by her side as security, she could increase security without being involved with the Adventurer's Guild. It turns not to be the case, but in fact the golem deployed in the arena. It was completely different from what Momonga imagined, and the other Floor Guardians unaware that their master's mistake assume he knew what Albedo was getting at.

Momonga then speaks to Albedo on her idea of employing golems to E-Rantel. Albedo explains she has long been concerned about Momonga's reliance on creating undead. However, with the recent profits gained from the reconstruction of various areas, starting with E-Rantel, they have accumulated a fair amount of revenue, so she feels it would be a good time to start manufacturing and exporting new golems.

Now that Albedo has mentioned it, SHalltear wonders why haven't any golems been released up until now. Mare believed that it is because lending a Nazarick golem would be like leaking a secret. Since golems are used by humans as well, there is a concern that they may not be able to be completely disguised. That's not all, as Momonga understands this issue very well. Normally he usually leaves it all up to Demiurge to explain, but this time he takes the opportunity to explain it properly.

First of all, if it's undead, Momonga can use his skills to ensure a steady supply without wasting Nazarick's costs. If there is a greater need than expected, Pandora's Actor can act on his behalf. If he uses the local human corpses as materials, there's no need to worry about them disappearing naturally. In addition, if they're undead that Momonga has created, he can be aware of their existence. Since he has deployed a large number of them, it's possible that Nazarick won't be able to determine their exact location, but even so, if the connected undead disappear, they'll be able to sense the occurrence of something unusual, and if Momonga can sense it, Nazarick will be able to take countermeasures quickly.

Upon hearing this, many Floor Guardians express that is why Momonga's undead are of superior make and how ungrateful humans are to his protection. Demiurge though asks Momonga if he is not going to talk about the reason behind why golem were yet to be deployed from Nazarick. Momonga actually unsure himself decides to let his subordinates figure it out by giving two hints. As most of the Floor Guardians are unable to discern these hints, Momonga lets Demiurge explain.

Demiurge surmises that Momonga has a true aim is to have the undead fill every corner of the human environment and change their common sense. To put it simply, Albedo states that Momonga wants the existence of the undead to become a part of everyday life. This is necessary to eliminate the aversion to the undead. The protagonist adds that Nazarick jas several plans underway, including the production of undead goods.

Now that Momonga thinks about it, he spoke with Pandora's Actor before when he was preparing to go out as the Sorcerer King something which he completely forgotten. It was in a conversation between Momonga, the protagonist and Pandora's Actor. In regards to Momonga's skeletal face, the protagonist thought it would be appropriate to say that, as Momonga had planned, "He has not shown his face in order to avoid causing unrest to the people."

From Momonga's assumed plan, the Sorcerer Kingdom as been lending undead as labor to various places where humans live which has also been effective as a measure to alleviate the fear felt by those who are unable to understand the beauty and majesty of the undead. So far the measures they've taken have been effective, so even if Momonga does show his face to the public, it won't cause any major confusion.

Albedo highlights that the undead, that can work without sleep or rest, are becoming an existence superior to humans and are no longer able to resist them. Humans have come to rely on the undead and are grateful to them as well as become so dependent on the undead as tools that not only will there be no one to perform the work that the undead once did, but they will also lose the know-how to organize it, and society will no longer be able to be maintained.

And if the Momonga were to remove such a necessity, it would be most threatening to humans how have become so reliant on the undead labor. Ergo they have no choice but to bow their heads become the Sorcerer King. It such a devious plan that there's no way that the clever Emperor of the Empire or the new King of the Re-Estize Kingdom would fathom this, based on Albedo's analysis of them so far.

The protagonist though believes that this outcome may be the fear of a small minority, such as the Mayor of E-Rantel, to find out whether the number of undead could be reduced in the city. But it's too late now. The humans have already experienced that even if they reduce the number of undead, the security cannot keep up. Moreover, the result of that request was a request for help from the "Sorcerer Kingdom that exports the Undead." This is undoubtedly the voice of thoughtless citizens who are not the mayor.

Albedo deduces that the citizens have already come to the conclusion that the Sorcerer Kingdom will help them. No matter what the higher-ups say, there is nothing that can be done to stop it. Even if the upper echelons of a country or city tried to forcibly expel the Sorcerer Kingdom, the citizens would simply rise up in revolt, saying, "It's outrageous to expel the Sorcerer Kingdom, and by extension, the undead." As they speak, humans aversion to the undead has drastically decreased. And while they tried to use an excuse over appetite to eliminate the undead, it's only a matter of time before humans get used to it.

Cocytus comments the board has been tidied up in the Sorcerer Kingdom's favor. All these plans work for Momonga's debut as the Sorcerer King. A time which many Floor Guardians will look forward to, expecting that when their master does appearing before the humans' eyes they will be so vivid and be afraid of his majestic appearance. It is their hope that the humans who have come to understand just how superior the undead will be much more grateful and be happy to obey Momonga. They will owe him all the favors he has done much for them, and they will know full well that the undead are superior beings!

Even though the Three Kingdoms have been turned into puppets, humans still need to submit to Momonga. The NPCs look towards a world where all humans bow their heads in gratitude to Momonga's greatness. The Guardians smiled with satisfaction as they imagined the day when Momonga would appear before humans. A contrary feeling felt by Momonga who is nervous at his debut with so much expectation from himself.[4]

Demiurge expresses he is really looking forward to the day when humans' aversion to the undead melts away and Momonga descends upon them. When the whole world will bow before the majesty of Momonga, which is shared by the other Floor Guardians! But Momonga calms everyone down as it is still too early. They haven't adequately dealt with the new threats that could come from other worlds, and with Mimics. That being said, he thinks introducing golems is a good idea. It will help them do their bidding and become a new business.

However, Albedo points out as Mare said earlier, releasing Nazarick's golems as they are could lead to the leakage of Nazarick's secrets, so it may be necessary to create new golems. It is true as the golems are so powerful that they far surpass humans' imaginations, and it's possible that they could cause inadvertent alarm. Above all, Momonga has no intention of giving Nazarick's fighting power to an outside force. If it is misused, they could end up being destroyed, which is unacceptable for the things of Nazarick.

Furthermore, there are many countries, including the Empire, that use golems, so Nazarick's golems would be too different from the local ones and would be very difficult to conceal or disguise. In that respect, since there is no comparison with the undead, as it just was easier to send them out. The only one who had utilized undead was Fluder who was secretly training them in the Empire. Mare even recalls when Fluder first saw that many tamed undead, he got super excited and it was a bit of a mess. It happened in E-Rantel, where Fluder was watching the amazing sight of hundreds undead patrolling throughout the city. His former apprentice Sophie had to drag him back to the Institute, after three hours of him glossing over the management of the undead, looking forward to the day he meets His Majesty the Sorcerer King.

Putting aside the usefulness of the undead, Albedo states now that the puppet-ification of the three countries has progressed, it has become necessary to prepare for a new threat to humanity: Mimics. If only superficial differences such as the materials used could be disguised...then the humans will be more than happy to accept the Sorcerer Kingdom's new products. And what's more, this is a perfect opportunity to sell, as they're responding to requests from humans.

It's agreed that a golem will be sent out to fulfill the desires of the people in E-Rantel. Shalltear worries that if the construct looks too frightening, it might off put people. So she thinks an inconspicuous appearance is better. Momonga is in agreement, affirming that this time they should prioritize not getting in the way of the people enjoying the festival.

Mare believes that they need a golem that has a low presence, but looks good and blend in with the cityscape. Cocytus then suggest that they use the golem in Spa Resort Nazarick as t blends perfectly with a normal scenery. Demiurge pinpoints that he is suggesting the golem that is disguised at the open-air bath in Spa Resort Nazarick. Momonga credits the brilliant disguise to Luci★Fer's skill as a golem crafter.

While its usage is deemed to be appropriate, there are some lingering bad memories with that golem. In the past the Open Air Golem was programmed to attack anyone with an harem which it deemed evil. Even attacking Momonga when he tried to subdue it.

Momonga even admits that it was a dangerous battle. Normally it would have been a laughing matter back in the YGGDRASIL era, when friendly fire wasn't even allowed. Though things are different. Still the Overlord was always amazed by Luci★Fer's pranks, as the things he made were always first-rate, displaying how he really was the best golem crafter.

Regardless of the danger, others like Aura, Mare and Demiurge feel that using the appearance of the Open Air Golem as a template for new golems is the best choice. Given that it blends perfectly with the scenery. Momonga heeding the group's decision, then will ask Pandora's Actor to assist in the prototype's construction. Once it's complete, he'd like all of them to check the workmanship and combat power.

Later Momonga came to Spa Resort Nazarick with Pandora's Actor at the open-air bath. Their aim being to create a new golem using the golem hidden in the bath as a reference. Pandora's Actor understanding the purpose now, is a bit disappointed as he thought for sure they would be bonding at the resort, back-washing each other. Apparently Pandora's Actor hoped to apply his in-depth knowledge of the skeletal system to his creator for such an occasion.

Jokes aside, CZ2128 Delta appears to assist the two. Momonga then asks CZ to "cancel" the golem's action including the activation condition permanently, and also to possibly to restart it. CZ reports that she and Pandora's Actor confirms that the golem has completely stopped working and the scenery looks like an open-air bath. For security reasons, CZ has set an additional password to the golem. Now, the golem will only respond to Momonga's words. CZ gives her master the password, which stuns the Overlord on why CZ would choose a phrase like that. CZ tells him because that it was wonderful.

Momonga lets out an unnecessary sigh, tells her she shouldn't say such foolish things, before he reflected on his actions for the umpteenth time today before speaking the password: "O being born after death, find eternal peace and leave your form behind." In retrospect, Momonga feels that CZ was carried away by the atmosphere at the time and said it without thinking, but even so it's embarrassing to say it again, feeling like such an idiot or a drunk at the time.

The Open Air Golem then rises from bath. CZ reports that it's working, that the [Explode Mine] and other dangerous functions have been disabled. But because of the password, a "bomb mine" definitely exploded in Momonga's heart. Pandora's Actor then begins scrutinizing over the golem from head to toe. From his assessment, the Area Guardian believes he can replicate using Luci★Fer's form. Momonga gives the order to do so.

While Pandora's Actor begins his work, Albedo, Shalltear, Lupusregina and Solution arrive in bath towels and a tenugui. Albedo is impressed that the golem is operating, which CZ explained she reprogrammed it.

Shalltear thinks t would be a wonderful chance to be close to Momonga, but has reservations. Albedo claims that's the position, and makes a jab at Shalltear of not have any padding, calling it a blessing in disguise. To which Shalltear makes a jab at Albedo's bristles on her naked body. Lupusregina and Solution seeing the two bicker realize that is why they are present, and the latter even has bad memories resurfacing from the Miyoshi Cup where she had to stop the two from fighting. But even this fight could be dangerous. Thankfully Momonga calls things to order, bringing back why the women are present, to help Momonga activate the golem.

Since if one places four members of the opposite sex in front, behind, left and right, the golem will detect the "evil harem reaction" and activate it. But this time, they don't need harem members so they can go back. Albedo insists they can help. Due to the women's insistence, Momonga calls Pandora's Actor to give him a report. The Area Guardian in Luci★fer's form appear, and upon seeing him that way, the women react in confusion, but are informed of the circumstances.

Momonga assumes that since Luci★fer is not their creator the women do not know much him. The gathered women though ask what Luci★fer was life. To which Momonga states that he was quite a troublesome person. He loved to play pranks and often caused his guildmates trouble. However, his golem crafting skills were truly impressive, and his artistic sense was top-notch. Shalltear inquires if "causing trouble," he mean there have been other incidents like the golem incident at the Spa Resort? Momonga tells them a tale involving  Luci★fer.[5]

Momonga recalls back in the YYGDRASIL era when he and his friends were going to a dungeon. He tried to invited Luci★fer as he was already logged into the game, but the player declined as he was busy, but to ask him the next day. Momonga grows suspicious on what Luci★fer could be doing, though he tells Momonga that he is working on golems of the Lemegton.

While that was true, however, what was waiting for Momonga and his comrades when they returned from the dungeon was something unexpected. It happened in the Treasury, where Momonga is boasting that Amanomahitotsu was able to get the materials he was waiting for. Peroroncino expresses that he is also glad, as thanks to Yamaiko he was able to escape death.

Ulbert enjoys he banter with his comrades. Herohero thinks its about time for him to turn in, as Touch Me and Yamaiko have both left. Before they could say there goodbyes, a golem appears ordering them to leave their lot where it is. Ulbert recognizes that the golem is using Luci★fer's voice. Peroroncino comes over to golem, tries to shoo the construct away, demanding Luci★fer to come out.

The golem makes another demand to the group to drop everything they have, before it beings rushing at them. In fear the guildmaster run, confused on why there is a golem in the Treasury and moving by itself. When it nearly catches up them, the players give it their loot, tossing it on the ground. It halts, obviously satisfied that they have complied and then lumbers away until it comes before a waiting Luci★fer.

Luci★fer who had been watching the chase, begins looking through the thrown down loot. The golem crafter too delight in the fiasco having laughed so hard his stomach is in pain. His fellow guildmates complain about Luci★fer stealing their stuff, though Luci★fer points out that he isn't robbing them, as technically they gave it to him, and just wanted to see what they brought. But having seen nothing of value is in the pile he decides to give it back. His words are not good enough to Ulbert, demanding why a golem was posted in the Treasury. Luci★fer explains that he's has been making a golem that could chase people around the room for a long time. He thought it would be fun to make something like Tabula Smaragdina's Nigredo. But he is still working on the appearance.

Momonga question what happen to the Lemegeton project? The other players like Ulbert though think a mechanism like a golem that can chase people will come in handy. Herohero asks what of it's voice, which Luci★fer explains that he was using a microphone to project his voice through the golem. This disappoints Herohero as he thought it was like Momonga's watch. This bit of information on the watch intrigues Luci★fer, wanting to know more on it. Momonga refuses to divulge anything as it's a trade secret. That being enough excitement, Herohero takes his leave, suggesting they go to another dungeon next time. Momonga then thanks Luci★fer for his hard work, but while it is fine to chase intruders, but it's not okay to chase guild members. Luci★fer feigns ignorance to what happen to his amusement.

Later in a dungeon, Momonga, Herohero and Bukubukuchagama a dungeon diving. The slime is eager to be back in the dungeon, as it's been a while, but she's been there many times before so she has the monsters' behaviors memorized well. Before they know it, a form of a golem lumbers towards them. Momonga immediately recognizes it shock at why it is in the dungeon. Bukubukuchagama, unaware of the golem's origins, is confused as last time she checked golems did not spawn in the area they are in. Using [Transposition] she switches positions with Momonga to engage the golem and blocks it with [Aegis]. In response the golem declared "OK!?" Even more shocking that there is no damage at all on the construct.

It does not take Bukubukuchagama long to realize that this is the work of Luci★fer. The golem player drops down at the scene at the call of his name. Examining his golem he is impressed that it did get hurt with a hit from the slime. Luci★fer explains that it's the same golem he worked, which he added with a mechanism that besides chasing people the other day, it will hit them when it catches up.

After something like that happened, the situation with Luci★fer's golem became chaotic. However, since it was a dungeon Momonga was familiar with, no accidents occurred. Speaking of not causing an accident...one time in Ashurbanipal, Momonga is surveying the library with Touch Me at the number of books acquired. Touch Me thinks about making a Sentai hero section. The two spot someone who appears to be Luci★fer, and they head over. Momonga tries asking if Luci★fer is putting in art-related books.

When they come closer they soon find themselves facing Luci★fer's golem. As soon as it catches sight of them it chatises them for making noise in a library calling it immoral. It then demands them to leave. At first Touch Me does not realize the peril, until Momonga urges him to run, citing that if they provide an interesting sight to Luci★fer, they will lose. That the golem will definitely chase them around and punch them in the end. And at the end, Luci★fer bursts out laughing.

Back in the present at Spa Resort Nazarick, Momonga finishes up tell his stories about Luci★fer. The listeners are in awe of the tales, finding Luci★fer to be an incredible person. Save for Albedo who secretly comments that he was a golemcrafting scumbag. Momonga admits that his colleague was certainly a bit of a problem, but more than that—the man was a truly amazing golem craftsman. The demon golems he made for Lemegeton and the great door leading to the Throne Room were truly magnificent pieces of work. Sadly the Lemegeton was never fully completed leaving on 67 golems instead of 72 as planned, adding up to Luci★fer being a really...difficult person.

Even so Albedo finds it a pity that the Lemgeton has still not been fully repaired. Momonga adds that Luci★fer's artistic sense was top-notch. It would be unreasonable to ask someone else to reproduce it. But he is sure Luci★fer would be alright if he knew that it can't be fix perfectly. Albedo is assured by these words as is the rest. After that, Pandora's Actor, who had taken on the form of Luci★fer, continued to work steadily—before long, two identical golems appeared side by side in the open-air bath.

Pandora's Actor returns to his normal form and presents the fruits of his labor. To Momonga's eyes it is almost the same. It's not as elaborate as the golems in the Lemgeton, but he wonders if Pandora's Actor could have recreated it. Momonga takes time to examine the golem that Pandora's Actor created. From Shalltear's point of view, they don't look almost the same, but the precision of Luci★fer's creations is definitely on a whole different level. Solution can feel the great power of the Supreme Beings emanating from the golem. Lupusregina feels the same way, the presence of people who made everything in Nazarick, and it makes her feel incredibly happy.

CZ adds that the golem can be stopped with a password. Momonga relives his embarrassment, before reciting the code phrase. The original golem is then returns to is original position. And while the NPCs laud his dignified citation of the phrase, Momonga feels nothing but shame. Keeping his assertive appearance, he declares that although the golem may not reach the level of Luci★fer's item, they have kept performance to a minimum for vulnerable humans, and taken every precaution with the coating that mimics rock surface, ensuring that the internal mechanism is not exposed in any event.

Solution believes that there probably is a completely different mechanism involved in making golems than the way humans make them. So focusing on disguising their golem's mechanism was probably a good move. Momonga believes that they should test its performance in the Amphitheatre. He corrects himself, as before that, since Albedo and the others have come all the way here, they can start with a real-life test here. The women are happy to be of use and prepare to spar with the golem.

After the fighting, Momonga has Pandora's Actor examine the extent of the damage to the golem. The Area Guardian says that the coating on the rock surface is still perfect, but there is some looseness in the joints. If it had been made by Luci★fer, it would have been even more perfect. It can't be helped, but the offensive power is fine, so all that is left is the defense needing some adjustment. Pandora's Actor will need the other golem for reference so asks him to activate it. This irks Momonga as he has to say that embarrassing password. Then using the activated golem as a reference, Pandora's Actor made further improvements.

Sometime later at the Amphitheatre, Momonga announces that the golem has been completed, stating that it looks the same as the golem in the hot spring, but its performance and creation cost are more suited to their purpose. Pandora's Actor adds that with the cooperation of the ladies led by Albedo, they have been able to make some adjustments. So now he invites them to give the golem a try. Albedo states that the surface treatment is perfect, so the only thing left to see is how much durability has improved. Shalltear reports that irect attacks have already been tested and confirmed. Demiurge then declares he and Cocytus will do a heat and cold resistance test. While Aura and Mare will try an attack that a human would make. The next test on the golem the proceeds.[6]

And then the day of the festival arrived. In the city square of E-Rantel, the golem Pandora's Actor created is seen there, surrounded by cheerful people as they explore the various food stalls around it. Among the is Blue Roses, Gagaran is eager to try the food being hawked. Although Tia and Tina chide her as should a security guard really be snacking on duty.

Gagaran tells them to relax, as it won't hurt to have a little fun, promising to stay sober. Since the muscle-bound adventurer is buying, Evileye tells her to buy something then. Gagaran delays herself though finding everything so delicious and being prevented from leaving due to lacking permission from her team. This annoys Evileye as she knows the other adventurer is pretending she can't hear her, and so finally uses her name instead of her nickname of "musclebound idiot." Gagaran is allowed to go, with Lakyus telling her friends she will do her part, sure the people of the city will feel more relaxed than being guarded in such an ominous atmosphere.

A crowd of onlookers have gathered around the city square around the security golem that was loaned to E-Rantel by the Sorcerer Kingdom. The citizens have nothing to fear from it. Ian Als Heim and Nigun Grid Luin approach the golem. Although Ian is more interested in the Adventurer's Guild stall next to it which is selling fruit covered in chocolate.

The main street is bustling with the festival, where everyone enjoyed food and socializing, forgetting about the countless horrors and tragedies that had occurred in the city. Before the city was deserted, and there was no Crack. Many were reminded of the old E-Rantel, and children ran around as if they had regained their old smiles.

Ainzach this in the crowd is amazed, even shedding tears much to the protagonist's bewilderment. The guildmaster denies crying, but accepts a handkerchief from the protagonist, claiming he needs it for a little nosebleed.

Even so, Ainzach marvels that the food stalls which are selling mainly harvested vegetables and fruits are doing great business. Plus the chocolate-covered fruit idea of the protagonist is also selling well. The Adventurer's Guild is also grateful for the extra income. And the adventurers who helped with the harvest are also very happy to receive the gratitude.

The protagonist comments to himself, that he is glad he did his research at Ashurbanipal. Thanks to Momonga, they can now mass-produce chocolate and do many other things. Ainzach continues saying that the adventurers on guard duty also seem to be having a good time, eating and doing their job, so everyone who is participating seems to be having a good time.

As for the golem, Ainzach was wondering what would happen if the undead were removed from this area, but is impressed the protagonist thought of using golems. Such an implementation would add a new look to the city. Ian and Nigun come over to talk, with Ian saying that the new security force doesn't make one lose their appetite like the undead.

Nigun is more interested in the golem, having never seen it's type before and asks if it was truly made in the Sorcerer Kingdom. The protagonist boasts that it is the work of a workshop that employs some of the most skilled golem craftsmen in the Sorcerer Kingdom. Nigun admits that it must be a very skilled craftsman. Golems are well-known among the Theocracy upper echelons, and Nigun would love to see a large-scale implementation.

However, as the protagonist mentioned before, this can only be made by a skilled craftsman, and mass production seems difficult and the cost is also quite high. Though there are plans to try to place such golems in key locations so that they can be used for defense purposes in the event of a Mimic appearance.

Of course the protagonist silently thinks that this gives the Sorcerer Kingdom a new way to earn foreign currency and create a loan for Theocracy. However, he understand he must be careful not to interfere with Momonga's undead infiltration plan. Soi calls the protagonist over, greeting the Theocracy nationals. Nigun explains that they came because the people of E-Rantel called the to celebrate the achievement of the Quadripartite Alliance. Soi seeing now, mentions that she saw the Four Knights around somewhere, though is curious where the Emperor is. Ian and Nigun excuse themselves to greet the Baharuth Empire members. Soi then toasts with the protagonist and Ainzach to the future of E-Rantel and the further development of the Sorcerer Kingdom.

Aftermath[]

Later the undercover adventurers, Soi, the protagonist and Doppel-Slimeko, return back to Nazarick, arriving at the Central Mausoleum. They are glad to be finally home, but find Narberal there at the mausoleum which Solution's usual maid outfit. As for why, the Pleiades maid tells them Momonga has called them to assemble on the 6th floor.

The trio wonder what's the purpose of the assembly and hope Momonga can explain. At the Amphitheater they are greeted by cheers and a banquet spread, with everyone from Nazarick present. Momonga explains that since they were having a festival in E-Rantel, and he thought it would be a good idea to celebrate their success in selling their new product, the golems. The Overlord welcomes them, happy to hear their report about the golem. The protagonist attribute it to everyone's cooperation, as the golem has gained a very good reputation and it has become even easier for it to move around among humans.

Albedo believes that they will be able to proceed with golem production as planned. Demiurge agrees as it would probably be a good idea to look into the burden on Pandora's Actors again. The Area Guardian though claims that unless the golem is very advanced, the burden on it seems like it wouldn't be much. They would need to discuss a lot of things, both in terms of design and capabilities.

All this talk about creating golems brings back memories to Momonga. A memory flashes in Momonga's mind of a time in the Throne Room, where Ulbert, Momonga and Peronocino were discussing how the would welcome the heroes into the Throne Room. Since many call Ainz Ooal Gown evil, they should act like their bosses and wait proudly in the back. On how they should do so, a majority vote is call. At the Lemegeton, Luci★fer is with Ulbert, the two marveling at their workmanship of the door to the Throne Room. Ulbert tells his guildmate he will leave the rest of the golems to Luci★fer for the sake of the cool door. Luci★fer promises to put his passion into it, so long as he has the materials to do so. Given the materials he needs are expensive, the guildmembers decide to head out and collect whatever Luci★fer needs.

Momonga recalls place Luci★fer suggested collecting was a difficult dungeon. So they went out with a really large group of people, and even remembers Nubo's coolness really standing out. Momonga really really misses those days. Albedo states that they will continue the discussion on golem production later. For now they take joy that the golem made by the Sorcerer Kingdom will be a ne beacon of hope to the humans. And while humans are content with fleeting, modest hopes, they the Sorcerer Kingdom will move forward to places the human race of this world could never have imagined. Now with high hopes with Nazarick prospering, Momonga prays that they can celebrate that achievement again in the not-too-distant future.[7]
