Evil Lord Envy (イビルロード・エンヴィー) is an Evil Lord of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. She serves as one of Demiurge's subordinates in the 7th Floor.

Appearance

Evil Lord Envy is a feminine-looking monster, dressed in a tight-fitting bondage outfit with a crow head.

Personality

No concrete information is given on her personality save for the fact that she is a loyal subordinate of Demiurge.

Background

Evil Lord Envy is one of Demiurge's personal bodyguards. She is a monster around level 80, who spawned in Demiurge’s realm of the Underground Volcano, near the door to the 8th Floor with the responsibility of guarding it.

Chronology

The Undead King Arc

Main article: The Undead King Arc

Evil Lord Envy alongside with the other Evil Lords were in the entrance of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. When Momonga appears, they all recognize him due to his aura. They get confused for why he is there and for why he is wearing armor and calling himself Dark Warrior.

Later, Albedo appears and asks where Demiurge is. They inform her that he left with Dark Warrior. After confirming that the Dark Warrior is Momonga, Albedo plans to go where he is but decides to first take a bath since she doesn’t want to shown Momonga her filthy self. She then suggested Albedo to present her current attire, saying that a beautiful woman like Albedo would be best served by showing the signs of doing hard work. The other Evil Lords also support her opinion and they are able to convince Albedo.

The Emissary of the King Arc

Evil Lord Envy alongside with the other Evil Lords patrolled the grounds of the 7th Floor. They encountered a Death Knight under orders from Ainz Ooal Gown to see Demiurge. The demons quickly directed it to Demiurge's dwelling.

The Men in the Kingdom Arc

Evil Lord Envy alongside with the other Evil Lords participated in Demiurge's plan, Operation Gehenna. They were ordered by Demiurge to summon an army of demons in the capital of the Re-Estize Kingdom.

Mass for the Dead Arc

Main article: Mass for the Dead Arc

Evil Lord Envy was revived after she was killed in the aftermath of the transfer to the New World. She was seen part of Demiurge's team in Crimson Temple, participating in the Nazarick Fighting Tournament. Much later Evil Lord Envy and the other Evil Lords were guarding the ruined Throne Room when a strange monster appeared and engulfed the room in light.

Envy was assigned the task of monitoring a unique Crack in the Azerlisia Mountains, which produced Ice Chaos Beasts. Her post was visited by Shalltear Bloodfallen and Lupusregina Beta, as the Floor Guardian wanted to investigate the power of the new strain of Chaos Beasts.

Envy and her fellow Evil Lords would then participate in a plan in creating the identity of Jaldabaoth. Once Emperor Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix made a deal with the Demon Emperor to eliminate the Chaos Beasts that were about to destroy E-Rantel, she and the demons displayed their power in wiping the monsters out. However when it came time for Jaldabaoth to collect his payment which was not only the city's riches but also Jircniv's life, the imperial forces resisted. However it did not matter and Envy and the others slaughtered all those defied them.

When it came time to execute the Bloody Emperor, Pandora's Actor disguised as the protagonist rose to fight the demons and save the emperor. Envy was the second to last to fall, right after Evil Lord Wrath, seemingly killed by the impersonator.

After Demiurge received a report from Evil Lord Wrath about a new adamantite vein in the Abelion Hills, Demiurge hurried to meet with Albedo and Momonga, leaving Envy in charge to guard the 7th Floor. Upon Demiurge's return with ore of adamantite, he tried to create his Sorcerer King Momonga Statue but was suffering from an artistic block. Envy, Evil Lord Greed and Abyss Demon were unable to provide Demiurge with any satisfactory help. Demiurge eventually ordered Envy to call Albedo to him. Once Albedo was brought on the project, Envy and the other demons witness a new energy from Demiurge in his work. Later at the National Foundation Day Ceremony, Envy attended the event and stood among the subordinates in the Throne Room of Fake Nazarick.

During the New Year's event in Nazarick, Envy and the other Evil Lords were called to the 1st Floor to guard the dungeon whilst Momonga and his allies dealt with the threat of the new Shiramochi-ō.

When a batch of luxurious chocolates reserved for a noble's party from the Re-Estize Kingdom was damaged in E-Rantel, Shalltear and Albedo led an emergency operation to replace the goods. Envy and her colleagues Wrath and Greed were later assigned by Demiurge to guard the floors of Nazarick that were under Shalltear's supervision while she was coordinating the effort.

At the time when Enhela Read Gahi took over the management system of Nazarick, the Evil Lord and her other fellows were away supervising various locations in the New World. They were recalled back, their duties being temporarily given to Abyss Demon, to participate in a plan to conquer Nazarick from the human. In the five teams that would be sent to attack Nazraick, Envy was assigned to a team led by Demiurge. Her team's route took them to the 6th Floor and later her attention was directed by her teammate Kyuko on what appeared to be Albedo and Shalltear in wedding dresses.

Though it became clear to Demiurge that what they were dealing with were replicas of the Floor Guardians. From what the Evil Lord could tell, Enhela's "Divine Right" having taken control of Nazarick's management system, could even recreate the equipment worn by Floor Guardians in the past. Demiurge told her and the others that Momonga and the team leaders suspected that this was possible, and even believed it was not out of Enhela's power to copy the other Supreme Beings, which would be mentally difficult for the other denizens of Nazarick. Envy agreed on this as even though she knew such entities were replicas, even she would still be in awe of their appearance.

After the replicas were defeated, the entire floor went dark, causing brief confusion for Envy's team. When they came back on, they were met by a sight of cheering general maids and replicas of LittleMasStar. Though the idol group and their manager Demi-P were no doubt replicas, Demiurge warned her and the others to try avoid killing the maids as they may be under mental control.

Envy's team were delayed from reaching the Throne Room where Momonga and Shalltear's team were fighting Enhela. However they eventually succeeded in defeating the boss of their route, joining, Cocytus's and Demiurge teams in regrouping with the others for a final showdown against the human priest.

When Lupusregina and the Floor Guardians from the 6th Floor patrolled the Azerlisia Mountain range from the Great Forest of Tob, the group mused that Envy had reported that there Ice Chaos Beasts wandering about.

A year later the Evil Lord and her peers were in attendance at a New Year's banquet in the Amphitheater. The demons leered menacingly at the visiting Frost Dragon when he revealed that he did not bring a gift for the occasion, sacring the dragon. Though the situation was diffused after the protagonist revealed that the dragon was brought as a good luck symbol for the event.

Evil Lord Envy's level is around level 80. She can summon an army of demons as shown in the plan Operation Gehenna.

Ainz Ooal Gown

Like the rest of the NPCs, she is absolutely loyal to him. Even though she didn’t understand and was confused about why he was wearing armor and calling himself Dark Warrior, she still respected his decisions.

Demiurge

Evil Lord Envy is one of Demiurge's personal bodyguards. She participated in Demiurge's plan, Operation Gehenna. She summoned an army of demons in the royal capital of Re-Estize Kingdom.

Albedo

Evil Lord Envy suggested to Albedo to meet Momonga with her current dirty attire, saying that a beautiful woman like her would be best served by showing the signs of doing hard work. She is also afraid of her and knows that she can't hide anything from her.

Trivia

• In the Anime and So-bin's artworks, her head is that of a crow while in the Manga, she has a human-like face underneath the crow's head.
