Enhanced Treant (強化トレント) is a strain of treants that appear in Mass for the Dead.
Background[]
Demiurge collected the seeds from the Supreme Odor Flower and used them to experiment and create different strains of treants in hopes of creating an army for Nazarick. One of the treants was fed several human bodies that quickly grew into an evergreen conifer treant.
Later he managed to successfully breed the treant to be obedient. There were plans to use the treants to create a security net to defend Nazarick. However in order to centralize command of the entire treant security forest network, it required a higher breed of the Supreme Odor Flower.[1]
Appearance[]
These treants appear as vaguely humanoid trees that are no different from the baseline species. Though the more nutrients they absorb results in the appearance of different variations.
Abilities[]
The Enhanced Treants possess powerful nutrient absorbing abilities unique to the Supreme Odor Flower. However, rather than sucking nutrients from the ground, these treants can take it directly from living beings. These treants are not intelligent and unable to communicate. Though they can rustle their branches to signal that a target is in the area to their masters. At most three of these Enhanced Treants can link to each other to create a security net via their roots. In addition it has the ability to shoot neurotoxin seeds at a target on the ground and in the air.
Trivia[]
- A prototype of the Enhanced Treant was cut down and used as a Christmas Tree decoration for Nazarick's Christmas party.[2]
- Ironically the extract from these trees is enough to incapacitate baseline treants and its wood can be used as raw materials.
