Doppel-Slimeko (スライム子・ドッペル) is the temporary name of a Greater Doppelgänger that is impersonating the deceased Slimeko for the ends of the Sorcerer Kingdom.
Appearance[]
This Doppelganger took the form of Slimeko while she interacted with the humans of E-Rantel and the Quadripartite Alliance.
Personality[]
So far the Doppelgänger has displayed enough of Slimeko's personality to give a convincing performance to the people who knew her as Surako, the adventurer companion of the protagonist.
Background[]
After an attack on E-Rantel by a combination of erupting Cracks and Invisible Monsters, Slimeko, the entire team of Darkness and half of the Pleiades were among those missing. However due to the control console in the Throne Room indicated that the NPCs were still alive, those in Nazarick had hopes that the missing could be found. To hide the fact that Darkness was gone, Momonga ordered Pandora's Actor and the Greater Doppelgängers to assume their appearances and roles in E-Rantel.
Chronology[]
Mass for the Dead Arc[]
- Main article: Mass for the Dead Arc
The doppelgänger, Doppel-Slimeko, successfully played Slimeko's role of Surako in E-Rantel and public attended events such as the Greetings and Victory Festival and wore a kimono for the occasion.[1]
Some days later, the Greater Doppelgänger acting as the protagonist received a letter from Emperor Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix about hosting the event in Arwintar just as they did in E-Rantel. Doppel-Slimeko and the other doppelgänger then went to meet Momonga to get direction on how to proceed.[2]
For months the doppelgänger acted as Slimeko, until the protagonist resurfaced, having returned from the "other side" of the Crack, revealing those who were missing after the attack on E-Rantel were taken there. A month later a rescue mission was launched, headed by the protagonist and supported by the remaining Pleiades.[3]
In the aftermath of Slimeko's sacrifice in protecting the protagonist from Enhela's attack, the Sorcerer Kingdom was left with a problem of how to maintain Slimeko's identity of Surako outside Nazarick. Momonga needing someone to fill in the role as the protagonist's assistant, then had Dopple-Slimeko be called back into service as a field agent, due to her prior role in acting as the slime in her undercover identity outside Nazarick.
A month since Enhela defeat Doppel-Slimeko along with Soi were working together in his errands as Territory Guardian of E-Rantel. Despite her service to Nazarick, the doppelgänger sensed discomfort from the homunculus adventurer.[4]
A year later, the doppelgänger was part of the Quadripartite Alliance's inspection team doing a tour in the Empire. After leaving E-Rantel and traveling through the Katze Plains, the protagonist hoped that the countermeasures against the Cracks still in the city would be fine. For Doppel-Slimeko she hoped that the demi-humans and humans would remain tolerant while they were away.
When their carriage arrived at the Grand Arena where Emperor Jircniv intended to give his peers in the inspection team a match to watch, the protagonist stumble, causing the Doppel-Slimeko and Jircniv to react in alarm and ask if the protagonist was alright. After the protagonist assured them he was just overwhelmed by the grandeur of the arena, the team headed to the VIP Suite, being guided by Osk.
From their position they saw a match with Go Gin fighting a Skeletal Dragon. On the security of the undead dragon, Doppel-Slimeko asked Osk if it was safe, worried it could fly away. Though the merchant assured her that the wings of the undead were bond to prevent just that. Later when the emperor proposed using the Grand Arena to promote the strength of the newly decontaminated victims to lessen the fear and raise the admiration for them, Slimeko agreed that it was a good way to restore and improve the city's functions.
The girl later observed when Aggresiel and Billiophia appeared at a second match between Freivalds and Fan Long with the former duo being the victors. After the match, Doppel-Slimeko at the Sorcerer Kingdom's mansion in Arwintar, was tasked to finding as much information of the two women, which the girl reported that the two were seen eating at Singing Apple Pavilion.
Additionally she reported the results of the test to improve the Chaos Adaptative Equipment from Narberal had been a success, citing the weight of the equipment has been reduced, and the usage time limit has been extended, both of which were better than expected. Albedo then dismissed the summon and was ordered to keep gathering intel on the two women from the arena.
However when the pair showed up at their door wanting to talk, Albedo called Doppel-Slimeko with new instructions. Given she was the weakest in the mansion, she was ordered to hide and if anything should happen to contact Lupusregina.[5]
Abilities and Powers[]
Due to her racial shape-shifting abilities, it can be assumed that she also has in possession, all of Slimeko's abilities as a Redeem Slime.
Relationships[]
Ainz Ooal Gown[]
Momonga attempted to revive Slimeko by summoning her again, but sadly found that the new summoning spell brought a new Redeem Slime one lacking Slimeko's memories. And since summons could not be revived using resurrection magic. Due to her exemplary role in impersonating Slimeko when she was trapped in the Chaos Zone, he believed the doppelgänger suited to the role.
Protagonist[]
The protagonist appears to have some reservations of the doppelgänger taking the appearance of Slimeko, as he was silently tense around her when casting aside his adventurer persona. It appears he is still troubled by the death of the slime, though maintains a professional attitude with his new co-worker.
Trivia[]
- Doppel-Slimeko is the second confirmed character in the Overlord franchise to be confirmed to be a Greater Doppelgänger.
Quotes[]
- (To Momonga): "Ha. I'm sorry."
- (In reaction to the protagonist's cold attitude): "………? Momonga-sama...? Could it be that I have done something rude...?"
