Divine Right (神権) is a an ability in Mass for the Dead that can be used by some people born from the Sea of Possibilities.
Background[]
It is said to be the authority of the Divine Realm, originating from the Devourer of the Nine Worlds. [1] While there is no direct interaction between the Devourer of the Nine Worlds and the users of Divine Right, it seems that images and voices flow from the World Enemy to users of the Divine Right from time to time. Enhela claimed that the protagonist would awaken in the faith in the Devourer of the Nine Worlds, when he awakens his Divine Right, but this was only a guess based on his own situation. In reality the protagonist never awakened to faith in the Devourer of the Nine Worlds.
It is unknown whether this was Enhela's wishful thinking or if there was some other factor. When Enhela exerted his full power, he appeared with Cracks all over his body, similar to Chaos Adaptive Equipment.[2]
Mechanics[]
Divine Right has many abilities related to the Cracks, but it can also be used to simply strengthen basic abilities. Among the abilities granted under Divine Right, users are granted an improvement of abilities such as defense. Resurrection is about privilege granted as according to Enhela , "If you are a compatriot, you can be resurrected by the Divine Right."
Divine Right can grant a user to vaguely sense the presence of the Cracks. This ability can be expanded by interfering directly with a Crack to place it under the user's control, passing a certain type of "nerve" through them, that allows users to sense other people and locations clearly as if they were an extension of their senses. In the story, Enhela proved that Divine Right allows one to exert control over the Cracks simultaneously and can even cause miasma to erupt from them in the major cities of the Kingdom and Empire, including E-Rantel.
On a smaller level, Divine Right can allow a user a passive ability to sense similar beings who originate from the Sea of Possibilities. However they sense is not refined as it can only detect those within a general location.
The ability has uses in travel and disinformation. Teleportation is possible using the ability to conjure Cracks to transport them across great distances. Divine Right can cause [Message] disruption, though requires committed power from the user.
The most impressive power of Divine Right is the ability to interfere with the Cracks. Through this it is possible to [Hack] into the a dungeon's management system through the Cracks. Information from a dungeon could extracted from the Master Source, and modifications could made to suit a user's preferences, altering the memories of the NPCs, and even creating exact replicas of people, equipment and places.

Trivia[]
- This is the first unique magic to exist in the game continuity.
- Not all beings from the Sea of Possibilities possess this ability, as evidence by Shiramochi-ō who was created by the Seven Lucky Gods. And furthermore members of the Mercenary Knights, who are beings from the same realm, did not recognize it. One of the members, Aggresiel, when she saw Enhela using it, referred it as an evil power.[3]
- Though Divine Right can influence the minds of NPCs, it was noted that it is not full-proof as Enhela could not control the NPCs of the 8th Floor Hierarchy, due to their power which he was wary of and instead isolated the area to prevent the denizens from interfering with his takeover of Nazarick.
