Crown of Thorns is a tentative name for an item from YGGDRASIL.

Description

In E-Rantel, Ainz Ooal Gown changed his equipment to this item in order to summon angelic bodyguards to escort him through the human city.

Appearance

In the Manga the item appears as a wreath of grapevine made into a circlet.

Abilities

When used in conjunction with the Cross and the Japamala a player can use the Super-Tier Magic Pantheon and summon six Cherubim Gatekeepers.

Trivia

• In the Light Novel, the items that Ainz used for the Super-Tier Magic spell are never described, but the Manga provides visuals of the inferred items.
• The item is a reference to the crown of thorns that were placed upon Jesus Christ at the time of his crucifixion as a form of mockery. The crown later became a holy symbol and relic in the Christian faith.
