Corpus of the Abyss Rebellion is a nascent rebellion by members of the inner circle of Corpus of the Abyss formed to oust the current leader of the organization.
Background[]
The rebellion's originates from discontent when the outsider known only as "That One" appeared before the inner circle of Corpus of the Abyss and forced them to accept it as their ruler. The inner circle members despite being powerful night liches acceded to its demand, as the power it displayed overshadowed their own. Another reason as to why the liches accepted That One as their leader was they believed it inclusion into the organization would deter other powerful entities from threatening them.
However the rule of That One only showed that their new leader only cared for itself and provided no benefits to the undead researchers. Eventually the liches found that their efforts were being taken by the leader for itself as it scorned the magic that they used while using it for itself. Even those that it favored were only being used for its aims which the inner circle predicted would cause a ripple through the world which went fundamentally against Corpus of the Abyss's founding.
Unanimously the members of the inner circle decided to work together to plot create a deterrent against That One in order to regain control over the organization that they founded. Under the utmost secrecy, all nine members of the inner circle would meet at fellow inner circle member, Krunui Log Entesh Na's castle in order to plan countermeasures against their oppressor.[1]
