Card of Karuta (カード・オブ・カルタ) was a magic item from Mass for the Dead.
Description[]
Shalltear in preparation for the New Year, found this deck of cards to be part of her kimono's equipment set that she received from Peroroncino. Since her kimono was mostly formal wear, there are not many benefits for combat such as resistance, but that was resolved thanks to the "Card of Karuta".[1]
The deck of cards would be used by Aura and Mare to pass the time together next New Year's Day in preparation for Shiro's awakening.[2]

Abilities[]
This item activates a magic spell when the user plays specific cards are played. The more quickly and brilliantly the "chanting hand" is cast, the more "destructive power" will increase.
The cards are played with quotes or catch phrases of specific Supreme Beings, and the goal of the game is to name the correct Supreme Being who is connected to it.
Trivia[]
- Due to the similarities of the item and Shalltear's characteristics, it is believed that perhaps, Peroroncino specially prepared these cards for Shalltear. In turn Shalltear learned a wonderful card handling technique after intense special training and looks forward to using it in actual battles.
