Canteen (食堂) or Staff Canteen is a room located on the 9th Floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
Background[]
During its creation, the Supreme Being Amanomahitotsu, assigned Shihoutu Tokitu as Head Chef to guard the area. In addition the Sous-chef was assigned to the dining area with the Head Chef whilst managing his the bar on certain times and dates. There are also some Manservants that act as servers for the patrons. In addition the Patissier works there, baking their confections.
The room is one of many facilities located on the 9th Floor. It serves as a the staff cafeteria for the Homunculus Maids, hosting meals for them on their breaks.
Chronology[]
The Lizard Man Heroes Arc[]

Sous-chef had left the canteen to manage the bar in the 9th Floor where he was forced to entertain a sullen Shalltear Bloodfallen.[1]
The Two Leaders Arc[]
- Main article: The Two Leaders Arc
The homunculus maids were having a break in the canteen. They talked about the latest developments in Nazarick, including a food tasting event that will be hosted by the cooks.
They were joined by Lupusregina Beta, CZ2128 Delta and Éclair Éklair Éklare. They started a competition to see who was able to give the best title to Ainz before heading out to their assignments.[2]
The Half Elf God-kin Arc[]

Ainz Ooal Gown wanting to learn more about the Elf Country, sought answers from the Elven Slaves. To gain their trust, the Overlord took them to the Canteen for a meal with Aura Bella Fiora and Mare Bello Fiore. Once Ainz made his appearance there, the maids reacted with shock with the Head Chef even coming out of the kitchen to greet the Supreme Being, and offer special treatment. However at Ainz's insistence he wished to be treated as a normal guest while he conducted his interview, which the cook relented and went to prepare the meal orders for Ainz's party. There under a normal meal the elves divulged all the limited knowledge they knew about their homeland.[3]
Layout & Features[]
The canteen was predominantly white in color with spare decoration. It was a large dining hall with multiple tables and possess a great ambience where sound was amplified.
It seems to be where all food items in the dungeon is stored.[4][5]
Adjacent to the canteen was the break room which served as the dwelling place for the Area Guardian.[6]
There was also a drink station where patrons could get refills.
Trivia[]
- In Mass for the Dead, the area served as a stage for various events and projects for Nazarick.
