Due to this, many view him as qualified to be a leader, though the ranger himself has no interest in such a role. The reason being would be that it could set a bad precedent for a members of the younger generation to assume leadership over the established eldership, and would not only affect his village but also the surrounding ones as well. Egnia cares for his village and refuses to allow it to succumb to internal turmoil, but is aware of his own limits in aiding his divided people.
His resolve to protect his village is further highlighted when he was willingly prepared to die when facing off against the Ankyloursus Lord.

The Half Elf God-kin Arc[]
- Main article: The Half Elf God-kin I and The Half Elf God-kin II Arc
Egnia detecting sounds of an mature Ankyloursus outside the periphery of the village's elf trees, then alerted his fellow rangers of the possible danger. Egnia was worried by the odd howl and shared his concern with his friends that the nearby Ankyloursus was either changing its territory or perhaps confronting another magical beast. Thus he recommended that they put the village on guard and check on the situation tomorrow. The Master of the Hunt Apple agreed and decided to cancel the hunt for today and to warn other villagers from going into the forest.
Egnia suggested that they should allow the elders to disseminate the information to the rest of the village. The exchange of opinions soon turned into a discussion of whether or not to go forward and inform the neighboring villages of the situation in the forest, although some wanted to letter the elders make the decision. Other like Plum Ganen wanted to consolidate their opinion as a majority before the elders in order to win the argument of the decision against the elders. Though he was rebuked by the Master of the Hunt of his disrespect. When Ganen tried to argue, Egnia quickly shut his mouth and reminded them of the threat of the ursus.
When the roar of the ursus sounded closer, the rangers began to argue on opinion of what to do, but were quickly brought to order by Egnia who then calmly reiterated the situation to them and their possible dangers before handing the decision to the Master of the Hunt who then gave orders to warn the village and alert the various pillars of the community.
Before Egnia could excuse himself, the Master of the Hunt called him over to speak with him about considering taking on the role of leader of the village. However Egnia declined as it would be a bad idea and only worsen the growing tensions between the younger members of the village and the elders and also spread to the other villages. When asked if on how to resolve the brewing issue, Egnia honestly believed that it could not be solved before ending the conversation.
Egnia received poison from the Rite Master and manned his post, looking out in the direction where the local Ankyloursus made its territory.
After some time passed since the last time the distant ursus roared, Egnia sensing that something was approaching discreetly alerted his companions via a bird call. An Ankyloursus did emerge from the tree line, however it differed in size from the usual urus that was suppose to live near the village.
When his companion Somono asked if an ursus normal grows that big, the top ranger of the village clarified that they were deal with any ordinary ursus but the Ankyloursus Lord. A beast that was suppose to hold held a territory near Aju, north of the current village. Since the Lord was here and the rangers having received no warning of the beast’s approach from their sister village, some of the rangers feared the worst for Aju’s fate.
To calm them Egnia told them that it wasn’t confirmed, and it could be the local ursus that may have become a Lord. Though such words mattered little as the bear attention was focused on their village. Whilst the other rangers debated on what course of action to take, Egnia unable to control is own fear lashed out his frustrations towards his companions as the bear slowly made it ways towards the perimeter of the elf trees. Egnia finally came up with an idea to use oil to douse the ursus and light it on fire.
Just as plans were being made to collect what little oil the village had as a countermeasure, the Ankyloursus Lord began to roar at the village as if to further deliberately intimidate them. This was confusing as the bear already knew their location and yet seemed like it was hesitating. Some thought the ursus was a parent and teaching cubs from afar on how to hunt dark elves, Egnia momentarily sensed that the perplexing actions of the ursus was due to something driving it to attack the village. When it suddenly began attacking the elf trees, Egnia attempted to draw it away, but was ignored as his arrows could not pierce its armored body. Before he knew it the beast then headed towards the village plaza, where several of the villagers were. Determined to stop the ursus from destroying his home, the ranger leaped onto its back in hopes of scaling it find a weak spot. His actions were for naught as he was tossed aside by the enraged ursus. Egnia crashed into the ground before the monster. Death being imminent, the ranger had one last gambit. Using a pouch of poison that was given to him by the Chief Pharmacist Egnia hoped that when the bear consumed him with it, it would come to see that dark elves were not worth the effort to hunt and convince it to leave. However the ursus still did not act as expected and continued it rampage by attacking the elf trees and ignoring the inhabitants.
It only halted its attacks when a young dark elf girl appeared causing the bear to flee. Upon seen her, Egnia became smitten by her cute appearance so much so that he lost all vocal cognition, when he tried to speak to his savior. His lack of coherent speech caused his fellow companions to believe he had a concussion.[1]
After Aura's uncle Ain Bell Fior and brother Mare Bello Fiore arrived in the village, Egnia was one of the dark elves to ask a question to the traveler. His being on whether Aura was betrothed to anyone. While surprised by the question, Ain informed him that his niece did not, assuming Egnia was asking on behalf of his son. Whilst Ain spoke with the Master of the Hunt, Egnia eavesdropped on their conversation and immediately volunteered to help guide Ain and his family to their lodgings. After Ain finished settling in the elf tree that was provided, Egnia then guided the magic caster to the dwelling of the Chief Pharmacist. Afterwards, Egnia then went to spy and watch Aura and her brother play with the other dark elven children.
Later after the Council of Elders gathered everyone in the village to discuss the message from Crescent Lake ordering the dark elves to send reinforcement, Ain announced that he and his family would be leaving the area. The village though wanted to host a farewell party, and Egnia was noticed to be doing a strange dance at the mention of the festivities.[2]
