Black Cover Book (黒い表紙の本) is an item from Mass for the Dead.
Description[]
The book's contents was written by a players from YGGDRASIL who happened to be an admirers of the guild of Ainz Ooal Gown. Some after the Mercenary Knights, which were unrealized contents made by these players, manifested in the Sea of Possibilities, the book was kept by its intelligence officer, Billiophia. She and her fellow sisters heeded the book in sacred light as it was a connection to their creators and was the only medium that they had knowledge of them.[1] In addition the Mercenary Knight took the writings of the book as doctrine, inheriting their creators admiration for Ainz Ooal Gown.
From the book, the Mercenary Knights knew of the world of YGGDRASIL and the Great Tomb of Nazarick. Although they believed the words to be true, they lacked physical proof of the existence of Ainz Ooal Gown. However while they were traveling the various worlds, they came across the protagonist and a band within the Crack who matched the descriptions of beings from Nazarick. They suspected that there was a connection and it prompted a meeting between the Mercenary Knights and the Sorcerer Kingdom.
While the Sorcerer Kingdom was initially wary at the Mercenary Knight due to being creatures of the Sea of Possibilities, passages from the book gleamed interest from the Floor Guardians and the Sorcerer Kingdom as they proved that both parties shared a common origin.[2]
